I had my hardwood floors refinished for the first time since the house was built in 1956. I had years of pet stains from having multiple cats, and they were able to sand out almost every stain. The few remaining stains are just faint shadows. I'm very impressed and extremely happy with the results. They also replaced all of the baseboards, which were mismatched after multiple renovations over the years. Joshua was very professional and let me know exactly what to expect. In recently purchasing my home, one of my main priorities included getting the white carpet ripped out of the dining room and replaced with hardwood flooring. The challenge related to this being the connected kitchen and sitting already had hardwood flooring that has since been discontinued. Josh was super easy to work with and came out to give me an estimate. Shortly after I stopped by the store room (which has an extensive selection of flooring samples) and was able to take several samples home to help find flooring that would match the existing floors. The staff at the show room helped me find flooring that was nearly a perfect match (huge relief!). After doing some research on Yelp, I decided to give them a call. The person that picked up initially did not know anything about costs since he only did the scheduling and I said okay, that's fine, I just needed a rough estimate for flooring installation. He said that he'll get in touch with the owner and he'll call me right back. After about an hour, the owner calls and he ask what my project is and I told him we are looking for LVPs and I just wanted to get a rough estimate so we are shopping around for quotes. Obviously, that's what most of us do. I don't think he liked that too much and he proceeded to tell me to go ahead and choose the other companies I've received quotes from and hung up. Nothing I said was wrong, I just requested for a quote. I was doing my due diligence to get quotes from contractors but I assumed he didn't like that too much. So, if you are requesting for a quote, do not mention you've already contacted other contractors. *Update: Yes, Joshua. Obviously I am not a customer. I was only shopping around for quotes. We all do, even you, for the best prices. I am not sure what definition you used to determine if I was "serious" or not but having made the call and asking for a quote was "pretty serious." If you only consider your customers as those that have made monetary transactions with you, then consider adding that, "Requesting for a quote doesn't make you a customer, therefore your reviews will be invalid." Very pleased with our new floors! We have a small home in the foothills, had very little response from other contractors to refinish our kitchen floor. I contacted Raphael and Josh responded the same day, and drove up your our home the next day to look at the job. He thoroughly explained our options and quoted a very fair price. The work began the following week, and can't say enough good things about Johnny, our craftsman. He explained what he would be doing, step by step. Raphael Hardwood did an amazing job on refinishing our oak floors. We wanted our red oak floors to be more of a muted grey/light wood and they were able to achieve just that. We decided to mix two colors with a white wash finish in the end to achieve the look we were going for. The total job took about a week. They were the only company that would come give an estimate before our escrow closed because we were wanting to start the day escrow closed before we moved in. Fist off I'd like to point out that the time of COVID and all the problems that comes with it, Joshua (president of the company) didn't flake out and was straight forward with the services and price. He took the job and was able to complete it only a couple days after I called. Joshua showed up on time and got right down to work. I had two rooms with deep scratches in a hardwood floor that needed repair prior to putting the house up for sale. In about one hours time, Joshua had the repairs done so well Initially couldn't even see where the scratches were until he pointed the area out. Poor workmanship; do not recommend! Owner did a great job of "selling" the project, their customer service, experience. The project execution told a completely opposite story. I had a 750 sq ft area to refinish which was supposed to take 4 days and displace us from the home for a little over a week. The actual project took 6 WEEKS and a lot of Advil. When the finish started scratching and lifting the first week of traffic, I notified the owner. The wrong finish product was applied I find out. A week later they sent out new guys to buff down the wrong finish and redo it with the correct product, but the layers gum up the pads, signifying (and I verified with two other companies) the products applied to the floor were not cured properly. Owner accuses me of applying wax or something to the surface. I end up in a two day battle for them to take responsibility for both problems, wrong finish, not properly cured. Entire floors need to be resanded. While I am still negotiating with the owner to have everything in writing and settling on the compensation provided me for the additional inconvenience and time out of the house, I walk into to the house and find that they have gone ahead and resanded WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Finally I authorize the 2nd refinshing to be done. While I show up every morning, and time off work, to go over the work for the day and get them to comply with manufacturer guidelines for curing times of each product applied, the techs still rushed the job and even admitted to me they used fans to speed up dry times from 2-3 hrs to 1 1/2 (Bona Traffic HD finish). I don't know if they made that call themselves or if the owner directed it to save himself from having to pay for another day of labor. Either way, this entire project was a nightmare. Finish seems to be holding up, but I'm not holding my breath. Find someone else to do your hardwood floor refinishing. That is my recommendation. **Update** Jan 18, 2017, owner attempted to persuade me to remove this review by offering to give me my full money back. The customer service was excellent, the wait time short, and the materials were delivered exactly as we had chosen. The install was done on the dates we were given and the work done quickly and efficiently! I've read some of the other reviews here and noticed a couple of bad ones. Is there anything more satisfying than ripping up nasty old shag carpet to reveal lovely wood floors beneath? But what if those wood floors need to be refinished, and in a hurry? We had our floors refinished By Raphael's company in August 2017. If i had reviewed it then, I would have given a 1 star review. They did our floor in a reasonable time but after we were able to finally go on the floor we noticed an uneven stain on part of the floors. I was also unhappy with finish. The sheen was completely matte. It had no shine at all. I could have lived with it I guess but with the uneven stain I just didn't like the floors. My husband reached out to the company 2 times, including speaking with the owner (10/2017) and sending him pictures. The owner agreed the floors were not up to their standards. Flash forward to the holidays, then my husbands business is extremely busy January to April and life was busy. Finally my husband contacted the company again this summer about the uneven stain and sent pictures again . He finally sent a couple of people out to our home that he called Master Craftsman . They agreed the floors had to be redone and in fact started that day . We picked a new stain and different finish. They were very clean and did the job in a timely manner. I can say that we LOVE THESE FLOORS NOW! So the job was a 5 or more star job but because of the year long delay in fixing the problem I can't give them the full 5 stars. read more

We had our whole house done in engineered bamboo flooring. Except for problems (long wait) with shipping from the manufacturer, things were very smooth. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves well. Also, when the install was completed, the worker cleaned all the floors with the recommended cleaner so they were free of dust and footprints (no small job at our house, he was on his hands and knees with a rag). Since the initial install, we have had other work in the house, requiring a new transition placed (they didn't even charge). Also we have noticed shifting (which is not supposed to happen with the kind of floors we have) with the planks in a few key areas. I notice it happens where there is less flooring moving to larger areas (in the doorways). I am sure this is from the adjustment of the floors to the humidity and temperature of the house. Anyways, so far, they have been very pleasant and happy to come out to look at the problem. Josh (the owner) said that he would do the fix himself. We have yet to ask him to come, because we are waiting to finish some other work in the house first. However, I anticipate no problems with having them return. We have also called them a few times since the completion of the job for recommendations on things like putting certain things on the floor and cleaning. They have always been courteous and helpful. Originally they said it would take two days but it was more complicated than they thought so the process took three days. They did a fantastic job. Raphael did such a gorgeous job on my stained scratched hardwood floors. Igor came and finished my floors with an all natural veg oil based stain, in a lovely oak color. You would never know that they were in bad shape, they are a lovely showpiece in my home now! And the natural stain is environmentally friendly to my asthma. We pulled up our carpet over Christmas expecting to lay tile in our dining room and found beautiful hardwood floor! We had Raphael flooring come in and do our floors. It was quite a job as we found a part of the floor had been removed and had plywood. Michael was the one from Raphael's that came to work on our floor. There was a lot of lacing in of new wood but he did a beautiful job. Worked consistently and was always pleasant and on time. Cleaned up every day really well also. Our floors turned out amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I had them do a dance floor in a Grange hall that had not been touched in years. When Josh came out to give me the estimate I explained that the hall is used for dancing about five nights a week. My husband and I have been frustrated with our dilapidated dwelling. Due to the economy we are underwater on the mortgage and cannot escape the filthy shack we live in. On a whim we called Raphael Flooring for an estimate. Josh came out to survey the horrid scene. Being the struggling blue collar working class individuals that we are, we could not afford to have the whole house done. Josh consented to allowing us to do a room at a time. His worker bee showed up and was very knowledgeable about what kinds of wood we were dealing with, and about what stains would work for our little room. He worked all the day long then came back to finish the very next day. It was so exciting to arrive home from work and see our newly refinished floor. It may be just a tiny room in an old outdated house to most people, but to us it is the world, because it gives us hope that this tiny ramshackle abode can become the beautiful home we long for, once we are able to have the rest of these beaten down splinters refinished.
