I have been meaning to make my way down to San Clemente to visit Rapport Coffee. Finally made it earlier today and I regret not coming sooner. I ordered a Ethiopian Guji pourover and my friends both got Iced vanilla lattes with cinnamon on top. My pour over was next level, I enjoyed every single drop. It had such nice qualities, very well balanced but definitely leaned towards the bright, fruity side of the spectrum. I would definitely go back again all the way from Los Angeles to grab a cup of it. The iced lattes were also a hit, I didn't get a chance to try them since my girlfriend and her mom drank them before I could even get a taste. I was on my way to San Diego and wanted to find a new coffee shop along the way. I found Rapport Coffee somewhat off the 5 freeway and found a cute, minimalist shop in a strip mall. They had a couple tables outside and makeshift benches (using concrete blocks) as well as a bar. For a Saturday morning, there was a nice number of locals. They also had local artwork for sale. As far as the coffee, it was smooth and strong. More bitter than I prefer. However, this is a solid local coffee shop in San Clemente. read more

This place is so hidden, but a great find. I like to try different coffee places and this one I actually randomly found in San Clemente. There is only one sign outside that says "Coffee" so it's not really noticeable. I decided to give it a try. I usually get a vanilla latte or a mocha, but I decided to try their cinnamon, honey, vanilla latte. It was delicious. Now when I go to other coffee chips in different areas, I try to replicate that drink but can't. The only downside is I feel like it's slightly more expensive than other coffee shops. Prime location with lots of easy parking. Limited seating but it ads to a cool atmosphere. I ordered a regular coffee, which was served in a mug and was delicious. Very friendly staff served us. Limited options for breakfast. I arrived at about 9:15am and there were only four pastries left. Went to go get a warm up of my coffee and was charged for a second coffee- which wasn't a big deal as it's not expensive, but a warm up would have been nice. No bathrooms located inside- must take the key and use the common bathroom located around the corner for the building. Overall it was a good experience and a nice location to relax and have a cup of coffee with friends. I will be back. read more

One of the best coffee spots in San Clemente! I'm a big fan of supporting small businesses and the guys who work here are so thoughtful about their brand and coffee. They make a housemade vanilla syrup that I highly recommend whether you have it in a latte or as a sweetener in a matcha. The guys often call you by your first name and this place has such a welcoming/friendly vibe. The guys are always looking for feedback and to improve, you can tell even though their coffee shop is always busy they are still humble and want to bring great coffee to the awesome SC community. I'm a big time espresso fanatic, randomly came across these guys today and was really impressed. The gents behind the counter were the owners, always a good sign if you deeply care about quality espresso. I happen to catch a glimpse of the guys using a WDT tool while prepping the puck. I've been to over 50 specialty coffee shops all over California and can tell you I've never seen a shop use this tool in their prep, it simply takes too long for a production environment. Their beans are extremely affordable and roasted in house. The shop itself is small, which I love, very cozy environment with additional outdoor seating to enjoy the weather. I also got a latte to see how it compares to my locals back home, and it was fantastic. Orange County is infamous (amongst those in the know) for having hard, mineral laden water. Cafe Smith filters the crap out of the water, helping you get an exceptionally smooth coffee from them. The decor outside is "meh" as the cafe is located in a strip mall. There are a few places to sit outside. The interior is cute. Modern, with a typical surfer vibe of SouthernCA. Grabbed a cortado today while driving through town. It was one of the best I've had recently. The coffee was really good with an almost sweet finish. I was slightly disappointed by the lack of food but got the one offering, a croffel (croissant waffle). Man, that thing was delicious and I quickly annihilated it. read more

Let me start by saying that I admittedly can be somewhat of a food snob after living in San Diego where the majority of places to eat / drink are on point. My expectations and standards are high and Rapport Coffee totally meets them. The aesthetics of the space itself are so tasteful and well put together - everything from the paint colors to the music they play works wonderfully together. Their drink selections are solid and they have plenty of alternative milk choices. And last but certainly not least, the staff are so friendly and remember you, which shows that they truly are passionate about what they do. I had been hard pressed to find a good London Fog (called a Tea Macchiato here) around San Clemente and when a friend introduced me to Rapport I was over the moon. Now I can get my tea fix.
