I went here to grab and coffee and read a little bit. Staff was nice and orders came in a reasonable time. I ordered an iced decaf coffee. I put some milk and stevia in it. It was delightful. The interior is modern and industrial. It is a little dark inside, so I choose to sit outside. There are nice bistro chairs and tables outside, which are perfect for reading. The music really set the mood for me. It was calming and jazzy. I practically melted in my seat. I will most likely stop by next time I'm in the neighborhood. read more

There is beautiful art all around you and they sell cute graphic cards. I love to sip on my coffee there with a good book in my hands. If you don't have a book there are great magazines offered. I was up in San Clemente today and found this place on Yelp. The reviews were great and I would agree. I had a cinnamon latte with coconut milk which was fantastic! I also had the avocado toast which was presented well and tasted good. I think my only complaint would be the Avo was more like guacamole. I really was excited to try this place based on the incredible reviews; however, I cannot give it 5 stars. I ordered a hot vanilla latte as an online order pickup. When I arrived, there was no one at the front. I waited a few minutes before ringing their bell. Minutes later, someone came out and I was able to notify them I was there for an order pickup. When I got my order, it was still hot. However, when I tried my hot vanilla latte, I was disappointed. It tasted pretty watered down. I couldn't really taste the coffee. It was very underwhelming. Had high hopes for this place based on reviews and decor but was left unsatisfied. We ordered a warm honey latte and a iced mocha latte. Both were very sweet but the mocha was a lot more sweeter than the way most shops do it so I asked if they can just give me a regular iced latte. They suggested to fix the drink first by adding more milk into it lol which didn't help. They made the iced latte but it was just OK, it was a bit bitter than normal but it wasn't worth having them redo it. read more

First impression wasn't great though - I ordered an iced tea and it came to our table in a..... wine glass?? And it was expensive. Latte, iced tea, and two toasts (avocado toast and caprese toast) was $25. I requested the iced tea be put into a to-go cup once the food was delivered which was better. Toasts were very well prepared, high quality ingredients but a little heavy on the basalmic dressing. I might come here again but probably not. I was looking for a place for coffee on my drive between San Diego and LA and this definitely hit the spot. I'm a coffee connoisseur who loves a good pour over or cold brew, and was impressed. Cute and clean, only 3 months old and they are already rocking it. I tried the Rapport Blend Pour Over and it's great. Their menu is a bit expensive (pour overs range from $4-$15!!!) so that's why I went with the blend....they do offer drip in the mornings until 11 though, so might be a better more affordable option. read more

Holy Goodness! Seriously you guys. Where should I begin? I really wish I could give this coffee shop 500 stars. I found out they've been in SC for 3 months (and I mean, can they please stay forever?!) They actually travel all over the world to find the best quality coffee for us to have the pleasure of indulging in. When I looked at their menu, I immediately noticed my beautiful homeland (Honduras) named on it. I inquired right away, and the manager/barista ( who was super sweet by the way and kind enough to listen to all of my 100 questions) told me that they travel to Central America and actually visit the farms where the coffee is grown. They talk with the farmers, develop relationships that make a difference in third world countries such as mine and import their delicious coffee to us, here, in San Clemente. How incredible is that?! I mean, it goes above and beyond quality - they actually care enough to ensure that they understand exactly whom and where they are buying from. I love that so much! I really wish I could say more about that (believe me, I want to) but I know this is Yelp! and you're interested in the coffee shop experience - right? Service: 100 stars. Simply incredible. Ambiance: hipster, quaint, adorable, minimalistic, rustic, vintage, warm, cozy. Noise level: I am writing this while I am still here - it is actually pretty quiet. Perfect to work (which is why I came, but I just had to write this review) and for studying/reading. They have music playing, but it's instrumental and it isn't loud so it's not distracting at all. And last but not least: the COFFEE! All I can say is that I felt like I went back to my beautiful Honduras and woke up in beautiful San Clemente. If you've never tried coffee from Honduras, this is your opportunity to do so. You will not regret it. I paid $8 for a small cup of warmth and memories, and it was worth every penny. This is such a hidden gem! The sign outside is misleading with the biggest word just being "Smith" Walking into this store has such an awesome vibe! You walk in and there's a really interesting mix of chic and cute accents mixed with industrial and simple furniture, such as a couch made of cement blocks piled up with a cushion. There's a beautiful tile wall with cute cards with seashell and plant decorations and it's so nice to gaze off at. You also get an amazing view of the bar where they make your drinks which I love!! I've been here twice so far and their quality of drinks can not be beat. I've tried their iced matcha latte and their iced vanilla latte and both were phenomenal!! My husband and I stopped by Wahoos and saw the Cafe Smith across the parking lot. The cafe's name caught my eye. I thought the place was closed. (It actually was because of COVID on Sundays). I was greeted by both of the owners and wanted to buy some coffee to support local business. The owners were nice enough to sell me three bags of coffee, offered my husband and I cappucinos to try, gave us another sample, and stickers! What an introduction!
