Worse pedicure of my life. My nails were cut too short and uneven and the pedicurist didn't even take off the old polish all the way. I could have done way better on my own... what a waste of $50. I can't even believe this person is licensed as the pedicure was really bad, so a very steep charge is totally unacceptable. I showed another person working there and there and she tried to get some of the old polish off and said sorry but no offer to discount. While I appreciate her trying to help, I should have not been charged for such an unprofessional job. I don't mind paying for a good pedicure but this was subpar at the least. read more

I had a fill with the owner who spent the entire appointment criticizing the work of my home nail tech, complaining about her current/former employees, and texting. I am so long overdue in writing this review. I've been going to Cynette for gel manicures for several years and after trying every nail salon in North Shore, she's the only one for me! She is reliable, kind, consistent and does great work. She even came to my house once after I had had surgery! In addition, I've tried several salon's keratin straightening treatments to tame my long, curly/frizzy and they've never done that much - not worth the time and $. Brianna used a different product and took so much time applying the product, layering it on the tiniest swatches of hair. Cynette has been doing my pedicures and hard gel here in Incline and I love her work and knowledge of what she does. My pedicures and nail fills last much longer than other places I have been over the years. Her professionalism would be hard to match. I guess I am spoiled! Where I live (Walnut Creek, CA) they massage your feet for a good while with the pedicure and also cheaper (about $35). Maybe that's just not the norm here in Lake Tahoe. But am happy with the finish product but I think I'll stick to getting pedicures back home. read more

Had a nice pedicure yesterday, but shellac mani from a different person was not good. They don't have name tags so I am not sure her name. I had a darker color on before, and can see traces of old polish on most of my nails and they are rough enough on the ends that I had to file them at home myself. The atmosphere is not much to speak of. When I got there there were kids running around the salon. Not exactly a relaxing experience. They must have increased their prices for the summer, or overall from what previous reviewer's are saying is reasonable pricing. $85 for regular pedi and gel mani is on the high end of what I am willing to pay. I prefer Soak in Reno for the price (and atmosphere is better, and you at least get a hand massage), but I live up here so wanted to try it out. 4* for pedi, 1* mani, so overall experience 2*. Very expensive. I'd rather drive to Carson or Reno. I've used them twice and both times the owner is in the middle of having problems with her neighboring shop owners. Difficult to start with new hair person but didn't want to drive to Reno any more. Brianna has done my hair twice now. Her color match was flawless. I had never tried this color line but was happily surprised the color looked great for over 4 weeks. Really impressed to see 4.5 stars after the shitty service I got. I was spending the weekend nearby and after reading the reviews here I went there for mani and pedi and what a regret!!! Obviously I didn't had the same person all of you are talking about. Instead I got a very inexperienced person that barely knew what she was doing. Nice person? Sure. But that doesn't mean you know what you're doing professionally. If I was the owner I'd get a mani and pedi before hire someone. Paid $50 for the most horrible service ever in life! I paid $66 for a full set of gels the next day they started popping off. After attempting to glue the first one back on and it not making it a full day I went back three days after I got them done, and 8 nails falling off asking for a refund was told by Paola that they do not do refunds even though there's nothing written about no refunds. She told me I could come back the next day and get it done again but the idea of waisting another hour+ of my life in addition to someone ripping me off is not my idea of good service. By the end of day three all of them had fallen off and one of my actual nails had been broken and was bleeding because the gel part of the nail was completely off but the glue she had used to put the fake nail tip on was still attached when it came off. This is a terrible place I wouldn't recommend anyone here. read more

The salon is nice and clean and the prices are quite reasonable. (Not sure how they got a $$$ expensive rating, it's not true.) I am fortunate to have found Cynette's salon here in Incline Village. I've been a full-time resident of Incline for over a decade, but am new to manicure services, having done my own nails up to now. However, pushing 60 yrs old as I am, I found that I was developing some real problem nails. In particular, three of my nails had very bad vertical splits/peels that extended the length of the nail. For the past THREE years, I tried to take care of these nails myself, using every conceivable treatment out there: tea bag papers glued on, Crazy Glue, Super Glue, polishes with fibers, Sally Hansen stick-on nails, 4 coats of polish, just on and on and ON. It seems laughable and trivial, but these three nails caused me so much stress, I was desperate for a solution. I'd ruined clothes by snagging my split nails on them, and was actually afraid of an infection developing in one of them. That's when I researched gel nail polish online and thought I'd try it out. My next step was to find someone close by so that I could even walk over, no matter what the weather, every 10-14 days I figured, to have my nails done. I surfed up to Yelp, compared the Incline Village nail salon reviews, and that's what led me to Cynette's business, Rapture Salon. The research I'd done told me that LED lights - not UV - are the way to go. I was also concerned about how the polish would be removed, how long it should last, the cost, and if this type of polish would fix once and for all my 3 problem nails. Cynette was very straightforward, knowledgeable, and credible. She uses LED light, and removes the polish with a special mix of nail polish remover plus moisturizing oils to protect the nail. She said we'd try out the gel polish first, and if that didn't take care of my splitting nails, we'd explore other options. Well. A MIRACLE occurred! After ONE session with just 2 coats of gel polish, my troubles were OVER. I was absolutely amazed. That polish stayed on THREE weeks without a chip, till my nails grew about 1/4-inch and I simply had to get them re-done. Even better, my nails are SO strong now that if I bang them head-on into something, they have never - not even once - broken or chipped. I've now been to Cynette several times, each time with fabulous results. Within just a couple months, my split nails had grown to the point where none were split anymore. But I am sticking with gel polish forever. And Cynette is going to be my go-to gal to get the job done. She's very flexible with her customers, fitting us in without advance appointments, which I appreciate, given my busy schedule of travel. I love the colors, the choices and the high quality job Cynette does on my nails. I would not hesitate to recommend her or her salon for those in Incline looking for a professional, groomed and very, VERY long-lasting nail treatment. read more
