Tammy def has skills. Her gel mani is the BEST I've ever received anywhere. She does it super thin at the very tip of the nail bed, so that when my nail starts to grow out, the gel polish is smooth, so never snags on sweaters or hair and lasts a super long time. Not only is Tammy great at her work, she has the biggest heart to boot. I see her bringing food and drinks to clients and friends and she also makes soup for folks that are home bound. She donates to local charities every year by cooking away her entire day off, seriously a hard worker. Tammy has one adult son, who works at the salon from time to time to help his mom out, both are the sweetest of folks who treat everyone like family. Truly a gem of a spot! read more

She does full waxing and it's incredible as it never hurts~ She's very trustworthy and doesn't hire people without the proper papers. A decent pedicure in a clean salon. They also follow COVID safety protocols and use clean tools for each new client. The hot lotion for the massage is a nice touch. It isn't hard to get an appointment and they take walk ins. For $38, though, its a bit pricey for what you get. In the Rayley's center so easy to get to and lots of available parking. read more

Visiting from out of town for my elopement ceremony during the "off season" in incline. The other nail salon I had planned on going to was closed and based on reviews, this was the second best. I called to make an appt the day of which was fine. The owner said their nail tech for acrylics was not there that day and needed 24 hours notice. That's fine. No issue. Gel worked out well and I still loved my nails. Just make sure you make an apt the day before! It's a small area which I didn't realize how small until then. Overall the service was great and the lady who did my nails was sweet. She did a good job. The only problem I had was the attitude and basically trash talking from the owner. When I came in and was waiting for my apt she was talking to another customer about "out of towners" coming in and wanting a service but not giving a heads up etc etc. Then there were a few other times where she was disrespectful (whether intentionally or not.) I'm sure they get plenty of regulars during their off season but you'd think you'd want your visitors to want to come back? read more

I don't get the awful reviews on this site. Both my wife and I have gone to Tammy for some time, had nothing but good service, the place is clean and she does a very good job. She does have high turnover on help, but that's the service industry in Tahoe in my experience, and I've lived here for 18 years. If people want to be treated like prima donnas they should go to the Hyatt or the Ritz-Carlton and pay to be pampered. If they want good nail work at a reasonable price, they won't do better than Tammy. read more

I called the day of asking if there were any available times for an acrylic fill and I was scheduled for later that day. My nail tech, Ken, was efficient and extremely kind (Not to mention it was his birthday!) I showed him a picture of similar nails and am very happy how mine came out! I went for a spa pedicure. It was supposed to include cuticle treatment. What I expected was to have the cuticles pushed back and trimmed. He spend very little time on them. The emphasis was on the leg and foot message. I hadn't had a pedicure in three weeks so I really need cuticle removal and also callous removal. He also spent very little time doing that. My appointment was at 1:15pm and he was finishing up by 1:55. In the salon I regularly go to in Monrovia CA, my home town, I'm used to spending an hour and a half. Most of that time is spent on the cuticles and callouses. The point of a pedicure is to have pretty toes. I won't go back. They aren't very thorough. read more

My best friend lives in Tahoe, so when I went to go visit her, we thought it would be nice to go get pedicures together. I needed waxing done as well, so we were on a search to find a place that had good reviews in Incline village.... yeah there weren't many. We literally spent hours going back and forth on where to go, and finally we settled on Crystal Nails & Spa, mainly because they accommodated our schedule best. I've gone to so many no-frills places, and this one pretty much met my low expectations. It wasn't awesome, but it wasn't bad either, and i definitely didn't have the same horrible experiences that everyone else had here on yelp. BUT, I do have two complaints worth mentioning: First, my friend got a manicure to go along with her pedi, so she started first.... but they put me in my pedi chair soon after she stared with her mani, and i literally waited in the pedi chair for 45 minutes!! I mean, i guess it's nice to just sit in the chair and soak your feet, but after awhile, I was getting really uncomfortable and my feet were too peely from the water. It would have been nice at least to let me know WHEN they were going to start me, so that I wasn't wondering the whole time! My second complaint is that as I was getting my waxing done (full face), the lady constantly kept telling me how hairy i was!! WTF?! Yes, thank you, i know that i was overdue for a waxing, you didn't have to point it out a handful of times that I had a lot of hair. jesus. On top of that, for any of you who have gotten a lip waxing, you know how much it hurts... well everytime I get it, i just tear up a bit... i don't cry, seriously, just like ONE tear drops down my cheek. that's it. Well, when that happened, the lady goes in a baby voice, "awww is the baby crying?" WHATTT?!?!!? i know there is probably some kind of cultural difference here (believe me, my family can be bad with that, so I know what it's like), and that she was just joking around, but you know what, just don't say anything at all then, ok?! anyway, i don't live here, so this place really doesn't matter to me, and honestly, when I go back to visit my friend, yeah, maybe we'll come back if they accommodate our schedule, but i'm sure it's also worth looking around for another place in the area.... read more

REVISED 6/8/2012: I find the review from Carole fascinating as I don't remember giving anyone the middle finger or cursing. Yes, after some arguing about the miscommunication, the salon did (rudely) offer to make some room for the bride alone but did not have time for the whole party. We actually did consider it despite Carole's assumption and judgement of our behavior. Unfortunately we were turned off by Tammy's approach - the bride mentioned she would rather have unpolished nails for her wedding than have them done here. Perhaps we did stomp out but polite and accommodating this place was not. That's terrific that "all the regulars know Tammy" but from my experience, I felt she was rude and unfriendly with us. Perhaps because we are not regulars? I don't know, I can only speak from my experience. I still stand by my original review - she could have communicated with us in a friendlier manner and refrained from accusing us of making the mistake. And yes, of course, we threatened to write them up on Yelp! We all know Yelp is the best place to read reviews of customer service! ORIGINAL REVIEW: TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. A group of us (including the bride) had appointments at this nail salon for mani-pedis before the wedding. Apparently there was a miscommunication but we were very rudely informed that they did not have time for the services we wanted. The female asian nail technician walked over to us and basically barked at us in frustration and told us WE made the mistake. There is a way nicer way to approach this situation - there is a better way to communicate with your customers! We left and went to Serendipity near the Hyatt. Tucked away you'll find a hidden gem! One of the best nail salons that I have ever been too. The owner Tammy and her staff make you feel pampered as you sit back and enjoy your mani and pedicures. I read all the nasty reviews for this place before I visited Incline Village. I had four hours to waste while my boyfriend was golfing and there's nothing else to do in town. So I called around and drove around and no one else would take a walk in. I came back to this place and decided to risk all these bad reviews. And after only a 15 minute wait they were able to take me. And I realized that the bad reviewers are probably accustomed to a different level of service. This salon was at par with or better than most of the places I have been to in CA. Yeah, they don't speak English and they're not the cleanest, but I wouldn't call them mean or unsanitary, they're just efficient. My manicure is actually better than most I've had. I do just a plain mani, no gel or acrylics and it usually comes off the next day and mine is still great. Johnny took extra time on my pedi and I got a nice foot massage from it too. Not a service I'm used to! All in all, I would go back. It's $48 for a mani pedi. I usually pay about $30 for that service, but it appears because there are so few places in this small town that they can get away with charging that. You'd pay more in gas driving to Carson City so if you're stuck in town like I was, this is a good place. read more

Tammy treats all of her customers like family. Great attention to detail with manicures and pedicures while being super fast! Tammy is accommodating with same day appointments if there are openings. Very clean salon, masks are always worn and protective plastic is up for pedicure and manicure stations. I'm pregnant and a little paranoid, but I have never felt safer in any business during the pandemic. I've tried salons all around the lake, but Crystal is the best. read more

I have known the owner of this spa for 10 years and was surprised to hear from Sara's review of them being overpriced. They have not raised heir prices for at least the last 5 years. Tourist or not everyone pays the same price that is listed on the brochure. It could be higher than what is paid in other salons but like I said the price has not changed in 5 years. The price is well worth the excellent service they provide but there was no complaint about the service. read more

Terrible nail salon! They gave me a new guy John who's license had expired with the State of Nevada. My fingers were cut open. I am a great customer doing two pedicures a month and two pink and white fills per month. Crystal nails lost $200.00 per month from me. I'll never go back...and the place is always empty! Hit and miss. I had Cindy give me a manicure and she did a nice job. Went back for a mani/pedi with a gentleman and had the worst experience ever. My big toe was bleeding in two places and it would not stop. This has never happened to me (I am 55 so I have had plenty of experience!). The nail polish was next to impossible for me to remove, not sure what base coat he used but it was like removing cement. So dissapointed as other comments about a reasonable priced salon finally in Incline Village. read more
