I made a 1 PM reservation for two pedicures and one dip and they were prompt and nice greeting us. We were immediately seated for our pedicures. The shop is small, quaint and very personable and sweet. I was happy they did not have a menu you had to choose from for a pedicure. It was probably the best relaxing pedicure ever for my daughter and for me! They were prompt, kind, we didn't feel rushed, and they were extremely professional. Nailed It We popped in early one week day morning for an impromptu mani/pedi. They were packed and told us to return in 20 minutes. When we did, they set us up in their comfortable massage chairs and had us soak our feet. My friendly female technician did a thorough job and gave me a strong hand and foot massage that I appreciated. We overheard two other customers chatting who happened to have a place near ours, so we bonded over pleasant conversation, which added to the experience. My pedi still looks great after two weeks. My mani was chipped after a week, but I use my hands a lot. This place does get busy, especially on holiday weekends. Best bet is to come during the week; otherwise, you could be disappointed. We found plenty of free parking in the back. There are limited nail salon options in the area, so expect to pay $50 + tip for a Unique regular mani and pedi. read more

I had taken my daughter here for her school dance for pedicures. During cuticle trimming I was cut to the point of needing a tissue for the blood, then they put super glue on the wound. This is AFTER putting my feet in scalding hot water. Thank goodness my 5th grader didn't get this chair. HOWEVER the 1 star should be a zero because I got a toenail fungus on all 10 toes from this experience. I've never had this before, and it could NOT have come from anywhere else (I don't typically get my nails done out, don't go to a public gym or pool, etc). Whats worse, is after burning me and cutting me and putting glue into an open wound, they charged me full price, cash only and didn't even remotely apologize. Giving 1 star because Unique Nails Spa gives one of the best pedicures I have ever had. I am a local and have been here several times as I want to support local businesses. Because of the lockdown, I started going to Reno and found a wonderful place that I go every three weeks. However, due to a sick pet, I was unable to make that appointment and called Unique Nails. Was hesitantly excited to get an appt on 8/8 because it's summer in Tahoe and everything is booked. When I arrived, I had to remind the tech that I had also requested a pedi when I made the appt. I was accommodated and received a fantastic pedi. When I found out they now offered dip powder for nails, I was even more excited, but a little disappointed because the mani itself consisted of rubbing oil on my hands and that was it. There was also a sign up that said "Sundays Cash Only." I wish I had been told that over the phone. The other customers seem to know that. The staff was gracious enough to let me leave to get cash after I finished and come back to pay. When I left, I did notice the bubble on my right ring finger, but decided I could live with it until I went back to my regular salon. Cost was $90 with a $10 tip for $100. I woke up Monday morning to find that it looked like pepper had been sprinkled on my nails. I found time Tuesday on my short work break to walk down from my office and show them my nails. The male nail tech told me to come back and they would redo them. The salon was packed so I quietly told him my schedule wasn't conducive to their hours as I work early and leave late, would it be possible to get some sort of refund or credit for a next visit. The tech that did my nails yelled at me from her pedi station that they dont give refunds and I can come back to get it fixed or sand it down at home and paint over it. The male nail tech loudly told me I must have gotten dirt on my nails before they dried. I replied that they did not use the laser to dry my nails and I left when they told me my nails were dry. I politely and quietly replied I was not happy with what I received and I would like a refund because i did not have time to come back this week to have them redone. The techs turned their backs to me. With a salon full of people and for fear of being labeled a Karen in a small town, I walked out. I decided as soon as I was yelled at that they were not redoing my nails as I do not feel they are properly trained to do dip and I did not want them messed up any further. My nails were unevenly filed and shaped, cracks and divots in the finished polish, and remnants of my previous dip not full removed. I am very disappointed in the manicure, but knew to not be overly impressed with the quality of their basic manicure from previous experience. They always were chipped in 2-3 days, but I know I an rough on my hands. This is a great place for a pedicure. The staff is normally friendly and they remember their clients and they seem to care. That was not the vibe I received today. I did not expect nor have time to get my nails fixed during this visit but I did want to show them what happened and see if we could find a resolution, especially for what I paid. I have been getting my nails dipped for almost a year and never had them look like this. Very disappointed. Will not be back. Stick with pedicure only if you decide to visit them after reading this. read more

I went in for a polish change on both my hands and feet. They did a great job on my toes. My fingernails on the otherhand, not too great. I opted for get polish because that's what I'd gotten before (different place). They put a base and top coat on, which I thought was weird but I just let it happen. These nails are supposed to last 21 days. I've tested this. It's true. My last set lasted all of June. The first week in with these discoloration started happening. The next week they started chipping. I'm convinced it's because of the base and top coats. The woman doing my nails was also in a hurry because they were closing early. Just shottie and rushed work. I'm calling tomorrow for a refund because this is not okay at all. read more

First time here and so happy I found this place! I made an appointment an hour before and was greeted by pleasantries. Great color selection-lots of OPI! My fave. Fantastic massage chairs (because we all know how important that is!!) and the actual foot massage was at least 10 minutes and involved some acute reflexology action. Lowest rating due to continued disappointment when making an appointment. If time does not matter, then I recommend them with 4 stars. I planned on being a regular customer. But TWICE when I said I needed to get in and out quickly, they continued their habit to take as many customers as walk in the door and they they haven't figured out how to work the walk ins around existing appointments. On 8/17 I went it to get a new set and I paid $65. That same day in the evening my nails started to chip because the gel polish had not dried. I called and spoke to the owner to let her know. She asked me to go back but because I was so busy I did not make it. So I went in on Monday they couldn't take me. So she wanted me to come today (8/20). I went in to get my nails repaired since the polish didn't dry. The employee who did my nails asked since I had trouble with that color if wanted to change the polish. I said yes because I didnt want to go through the problem again. Bad mistake ! The paint job she did is horrible and they charged me an additional $25.00 for a mistake on there part. Show up on five minutes early for that appointment and was still waiting 30 minutes later. Finally owner tells young girl I'm next and she rolls her eyes and walks into the back room. ATTN ALL BRIDES AND WEDDING PARTIES: DO NOT COME HERE!!! I made a reservation a month in advance for 8 people two days before the big day. I called to confirm a week prior and they confirmed our reservation. On the day of our appointment the first group showed up and they told us someone had CANCELLED the reservation two days ago. I told them I would be the only person to have done that and I had not called to cancel. She read me the number of the person who cancelled and it was not my number. It is so unprofessional and I can't believe they would lie to us. This place will never get our business and if you are needing a reliable appointment for a large group this is NOT the place. I called for a same day manicure appointment. I arrived about ten minutes early. They were swamped and one other person was waiting ahead of me. I had lots of time to look around while I waited and waited. The place was cramped with furniture. The floors and table surfaces were very very dusty and dirty. There was clutter and mess everywhere. The electrical outlets I could see were seriously overloaded and cords and wires were hung along the walls. I was ushered to a mani table, waited there for a while and then decided this was not the place for me. I expleaned to the person who ushered me in that I could not wait and left. This earned me a scowl and a dirty look. They should never have accepted my appointment as they were overbooked before I called. read more
