so so bad. I don't recommend this place. Good ambiance, but they kept switching who was working on me. From a girl who says she's new, and really seemed clueless. To a very old woman with missing teeth who kept hurting my friend over and over. She didn't take good care of my cuticles and when 2 of my nails got messed up, she tried to just paint over them. I pointed out that the mess up is still visible, so she's finally took the polish off and started again, but this time she only did 2 hasty coats in a row. They didn't look the same as the others when she was done, but I just wanted her to go away. Then she moved to my friend. She cut her toe cuticles and finger cuticles over and over. I can't believe my friend let her finish. With how much it costs, the lady should not be acting like she's going to get whipped if she goes any slower and she should be taking care not to hurt people. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because of this one woman who was there. She was the only one who seemed to know what she was doing. But she kept moving from person to person. It's like the owner wanted to make sure everyone got a chance to be with her at least a little because the rest of the crew didn't know what they were doing. read more

I too had a bad experience at this place. She took off my old gel polish with an electric filer and it took off the top layer of my nails. She never used any gel polish remover, just the harsh filing. That was one week ago and each day since the mani, my nails are splitting down the middle and they are paper thin. I've had to cut them back completely. She also kept aggressively pulling my fingers towards her as she filed again to do the cuticles. One of the weirdest manicures I've ever received. read more

The owner got upset that I didn't like the way my cuticles were not pushed back or cleaned. He missed a spot on my nail polish and I told him And he started to argue with me. He had hurt my nails three times with his electric filer. It hurt to the point I needed to pull my Hand away so he was blaming me for the fact he didn't finish the cuticles I didn't understand why he was arguing with me. It's like he wanted me to not speak up. I'm the one paying for the service I didn't understand why he escalated things and needed to argue. He got up. Reached for my arm to lift me off the chair and practically kicked me out of the establishment. He didn't even want me to pay. he held the door open he said I'm never allowed to come back and practically pushed me out the door. With service like that? Who would even want to come back!? obviously won't be back considering he threw me out and has banned me. He's lucky I don't press charges. read more

I have lived in Tahoe for 7 years and gone here a several times but usually go to Reno. This time, I was pleased with the overall experience at first. It has been three days since I got gel polish and it is already chipping. I have gotten my nails done for 10 years. More recently gel polish for over 2 years. Its never chipped in three days. I can usually go about 4 weeks! I returned three days later and requested a full refund. The gentleman was completely rude. He even stated "you probably just didnt like the color, so you picked." Its my real nail and I just paid $35.50 and its a color that I chose. I'm not going to ask for a refund over a color I chose. I highly recommend Happy Foot Nail and Spa in Reno. Great value for the service received. Spa pedicure ($35) included hot stone leg massage & hot towel. Manicure was $18, but it included some designs I picked out online. Nail polish selection was amazing - mostly OPI nail polish and some China Glaze + Essie shades. I couldn't quite find the right shade of pink so the manicurist picked a new polish out from the back. Gel nail polish seemed like the standard brand at all the other salons I've been to. Manicure was a bit quicker, not hot stone but I was getting tired so out worked out. Based on the other reviews, looks like nail polish color doesn't last long for others but OPI is usually great. I'll update if that wasn't the case. FYI: they do charge 50 cents if you pay with a debit/credit card. read more

This place is the best. I was totally new to the manicure experience. Went with a friend to try it out since I work with my hands primarily with money all day, so they needed a bit of "love". I opted for a plain gel manicure. Looked so lovely I was hooked! Every time I went to this "other place" I asked the tech "is this healthy? should I let my nails rest?" Oh no very healthy!! After 4 months or so went to Sassy for another opinion. The owner helped me himself. Suffice it to say, he told me the truth. Went while on a weekend get away for pedi's with the girls. I waited over an hour with my feet in cold water while my friends all got their pedis. The lady that finally did my pedi didn't say a work to me. She was so hard on my feet. She clipped around my toes until I was bleeding and when I pulled away and yelled she was annoyed. My toe was bleeding. She took the pumas to my feet and again I pulled away and screamed in pain. She just stared at me. I get pedicures every 4 weeks at home and have never been cut or scrubbed so hard that I screamed. Tonight my toes are raw and red and it is painful to walk. I would avoid this place completely. Terrible job on both toes and hands ... also I asked for a gel pedicure and regular manicure. She used a small drill to remove my old color which removed the first coat of my toes nails. Then she proceeded to put cream on my feet and legs which is common with regular pedicure but even without asking she is there with hot stones which I never asked for. It took her forever to apply the gel on my nails and toes!!The manicure is not better as it is already chipped and because their nail polish is so old it is full of bubbles ...neither to say that it is the worst job I ever experienced and then they started to bargain on the prices ...
