Also well priced. I believe my drink was $5 & compared to other coffee shops, $5 is great. The location is also cool, very different than your typical coffee shop. Lastly, the baristas were super friendly and kind. If it wasn't too far from where I live I would be here daily. read more

Wonderful roastery and beautiful space to relax. Now open at 7am! This tucked away warehouse-made-coffeeshop has a tranquil feel and relaxing atmosphere. The smell of the coffee beans are wonderful as well! They are open Wed- Saturday in the mornings until early afternoon. If you can make it out, it's well worth a visit! 5/5 The brewed coffee is an excellent caliber- you can taste the beans in the cup, and it's not too dilute- on the strong side. In fact, I bought a bag of whole beans- Midnight- only $12 for 1 pound! 4/5 The lattes are well made as well- beautiful rosette art with nice microfoam. Next time I might go for some flavoring as the espresso was slightly mild, but it was perhaps because I ordered decaf. I know it's really difficult to extract the coffee from decaf beans because of the way they are roasted. 5/5 Dads cookies - really thick, rich and doughy - a wonderful complement to coffee. I had the cookie that looked like a birthday confetti cookie. Looking forward to trying their coffee flights! The dude and I came to Rare Earth Roaster in July 3, 2021 at the Clovis, Ca location. We had such a better experience than the prior week. We were immediately greeted by staff who informed us we can have any drink made to order. We ended up getting the drinks and buying some snacks as well for the road trip. I ended up getting the Matcha Latte with Almond milk was WAY too sweet for me so I gave it a rating of 6/10 as I don't like sweet lattes at all! The dude didn't think it as that sweet but he eats boat loads of sugar so he can tolerate it but I couldn't. I did struggle to finish it and when I have too much sugar I don't feel well. It probably took me the whole car ride from Clovis to Oakland to finish it. I would not get the latte again as it was too sweet for my liking. The dude LOVED his blended coffee crunch drink. I am not a fan of coffee at all so I won't even share how it tasted as my taste buds don't like it. The staff was very friendly and quick. We got an almond bar which was pretty tasty and was fancy to eat. I do like the snacks here and the layout as well. It was clean and organized however it also felt like I was in a warehouse which I will need some time to get adjust to such feel. I am not sure if I'll return, coffee is not my thing but if the dude wants to go...I'll probably get some snacks for the ride :) if you love coffee this place is for you! Anthony was attentive, intelligent knew exactly what he was doing and made it a very fun morning and yes, I walked away with 3 pounds of the best tasting coffees. it is hidden away, but it is well worth the search. I saw a posting on their IG showcasing their coffee flight and knew my husband and I needed to give them a try. We arrived early today about 8:30 and were the only patrons in the establishment. We were greeted by a friendly worker as we walked in. I love the whole industrial vibe of the place. This is their roastery where all of their products come from so, it's also serves as their warehouse/coffee shop. We decided to try the coffee lovers flight which came with a latte, macchiato, mocha, and their cold brew. We placed our order without any issues and found a seat at the bar. This is where the one less star came in. Instead of making our drinks, the worker seemed to still be opening up shop. The sign said they opened up at 7:00 and it was 8:30 by the time we came in. He was putting seats and tables outdoors and even cleaning up the bar area where we were sitting. He even had time to give us a bit of background of how they roast their coffee. It was interesting and we appreciated it, but still no sign of our coffee being made at this point. He then told us the espresso machine was warming up and he would bring our flight out when it was ready. We were ok with it, but 20 minutes later, still no coffee! We waited almost 30 minutes for our coffee. Apparently, one of the machines wasn't working and the worker was having issues with it, so he had to use another one in the back. He didn't communicate anything with us about the wait. He told us that once he brought out our coffee. The flight also didn't have all the drinks served at the same time. We were served all but the macchiato which he brought out later. We understand things happen, but would have appreciated some communication as to why it was taking so long. Good thing we weren't in a hurry! He did make up for it by giving us two free drinks on our next visit. The coffee itself is delicious! We were very surprised at the amount you get in the flight. It's basically 4 full servings of coffee! The coffee was light and smooth just as the worker shared with us. We really enjoyed the taste of the coffee and will definitely return. Even thought we waited so long, I think it was worth the wait. I don't think there's any other place locally that offers an experience quite like Rare Earth. We also love supporting local businesses. After stopping by a week or so ago and given a tour and explanation of the roasting process, was excited to come back and experience a "flight." The coffee bar was not open, but found a full service location at a gas station. Ordered a mocha and was told by the barista that it's only her third day. When I got the drink it was the worst mocha I have had in my life. Couldn't let this one experience sway me. Ordered single origin flight. They were out of Peru, but kindly poured Bourbon Aged instead. All generous pours at 12oz. All were very good! The one drawback is the smell of the roasting process going on detracted from enjoying the coffee. I also got a mocha to go which was so much better than the gas station coffee. read more

After a great Yelp Elite event I had to go back to show support. I bought 3 coffees, 1 mellow roast, 2 Ethiopian reserve, all with fat free milk and 1 nonfat sugar free vanilla latte. Destiny took NY order and is very nice and informative. She also gave me recommendations and that was appreciated! After paying for the order I waited for it to be ready! They had great music playing. It is a really nice, open atmosphere! Really great! Ouwas busy! Absolutely fresh and delicious coffee and latte! Great service too! Highly recommended! How do you not love this place? It's different and I think that's what always pulls me back in. I love that it's inside, while being outside too. I definitely feel safe bringing my family here. Recently I brought family from out of town, I thought it was a cool place to grab some coffee. I try and visit before 1pm because for me, the coffee is strong! I'll be up all night if I come here too late in the day. The baristas are always friendly and willing to offer up preferences or tips. Which I always need but during the summer I order iced drinks. They have a coffee card too, you earn a free one. I always grab a few syrups when I come here for my coffee making at home. Their variety is really awesome and they have flavors I can't get anywhere else. And a double plus, they give me a free reusable bag when I buy them as well. Their cookies are really good, that with an iced brown sugar and cinnamon coffee and I am in heaven. It's a treat to visit here! read more

But apparently no one comes to this location so its not well stocked. This place is nice! It's got a warehouse kind of vibe, and although it was pretty chilly and rainy when I went, they leave the doors wide open. They did have heat lamps inside though. So it was kind of an awkward situation where I was toasty on top, with cold feet, haha. Actually, I think I must have toasted my face a little bit too, noticed that it was super red for hours afterwards. BUT, the coffee is good and the people are super nice. I was in town for work. Since I am a coffee roaster and coffee lover, I looked for the closest roaster, and headed here. This place has such a cool ambiance when you walk in. It's a great place to hang out, and the coffee is top-notch. I bought a pound and ordered a plain unsweetened latte. It had such a clean, chocolatey flavor, with good mouthfeel, and the roast I brought home was equally great. My wife loved it too and she typically only wants to drink the coffee I roast. Too bad we aren't closer to be able to enjoy the ambiance together, but I will head back anytime I'm in town for work. I will note, pulling up to the building I wondered if it was only a roastery, but it's not! This is a coffee shop that happens to roast (very well), it has a great space to hang out, and the prices are excellent for the quality. I will not come back again....they have lost a good and loyal customer simply because they do not honor the hours stated on the building or their website....sad.... read more

I've been to this location twice now: once for the Yelp event and today for the pop-up market. I've also ordered delivery twice from their Willow location. I've never been disappointed with the coffee. The quality is consistent, & the prices are lower than other nearby competitors. If you don't like bitter coffee, I can highly-recommend the Mellow roast which is a blend of 3 different beans. I usually have to have a splash of cream in my coffee but not when it comes to the Mellow roast-drinking an Americano with no sugar and no cream was easy for me. The baristas are all very friendly and if they have time, they will explain the roasting process to you and allow you to see and touch the coffee bean from pre-air roast to its post-roast state. They also have their different roasts out in little bowls so you can examine the bean before you order your coffee. We were able to see part of the air roasting process but with their event today, it was too busy to get through the whole process. I think you can see the air roaster in action though if you go early in the day on any other day when they don't have a special event. This place does coffee flights (hot and cold) which I think is really a creative and fun idea. Moreover, their pop-up market was cute and had a good variety of vendors. I walked around with my sister who is the shopper of our family, & she especially enjoyed the pop-up market. The roastery also has its own small store where you can buy their coffee in bulk and other assorted goods, if you want. The one thing I would love to see at this location is a wheelchair accessible table. The place is open and flat, & very wheelchair/walker friendly except there is no place to sit. My dad had to sit low to the ground in his walker and watch us from "below" while we sat at the coffee bar "above". read more

The place seems nice enough and has an interesting style to it (being more of a factory layout in an industrial district). They definitely have interesting options for candy available. As for the coffee it was good but average and service was polite but nothing out of the ordinary, and wait time was a bit longer than normal.
