Blues Flash Group at RoT on the night of November 29, 2025.
Thomas J.

My family and I have been customers since 1995. On the night of November 29, 2025, we had a very unique entertainment experience at RoT. A group named "Blues Flash" performance was excellent. It reminded me of the entertainment found on Beale Street, Memphis, Tennessee in May 1989. Check out this local gem; always something happening to make life more joyful. tj rva

Trivia night... Wednesday! Placed was packed but totally fun! It's always a good time at Rare Olde Times! Such a rustic, cozy feel! We got the scotch eggs (again!), bacon ranch fries, fish & chips, and pretzels/Irish cheddar beer cheese! Yum! This place was rockin and rollin! We had a blast!! And of course Tom got a Guinness!!

I have only been to this location twice but I love it! I hope to be a regular visitor. They have great atmosphere and decor for an Irish pub. They have Irish beer on draft... a fantastic red!!!! The food we had was very good and the service is good. The staff are super friendly! They have live music several nights a week plus when there is no music they have several tvs with soccer or baseball on. I bet this place would be great to be at for a world cup soccer game! The place is located in a strip mall area with plenty of parking. Definitely get reservations if you are going on a night with a popular local band! I am looking forward to going back already!

Happy to report they have a full bar and make excellent Old Fashioneds! The staff there are absolutely WONDERFUL-even as busy as they get (this place gets packed)! Everyone around us looked super happy! Fantastic experience for a Friday night!

Delicious food and drinks in an authentic setting. Seems like a neighborhood place. Friendly service and laid back atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

First time here, and won't be the last. We were planning on going to the Lily Pad (see my other review) but it started to rain. Sooo, I randomly picked this place. In part based on the yelp reviews. This is a 25 min drive from my house and well worth it. If this place was closer, I would be here 2-3x's a week. The service is very good and extra friendly- the bartender knew everyone. A lot of regulars which is a good sign. The Country Club of Virginia (golf course) is 2 miles away and a bunch of golfers showed for the after game drink. We had the pretzels to start and they didn't disappoint. Wife had the Reuben and I the Philly cheese and it was one of the better Philly's I've had. The sauces are made in house and the ranch was as thick as blue cheese. I recommend the "Lost coast Tangerine wheat." Beer on tap. Tasty.. Cozy. Good number of high tops. Good decor so long as you don't mind things Irish.

Really clean and nice European pub vibe, warm, charming and buzzing with energy. His lunch was a delish Buddingtons Fish & Chips w Waffle Fries. It came piping hot and crispy with a home-made tarter sauce - just like we were back visiting in the UK! Mine was a beautifully plated Ahi Tuna Salad, cold, crisp with a sesame dressing. The best of the experience was our wonderful waitress Jordan W. She was friendly, super efficient and just charming! Our second visit this trip was for dinner with an excellent waiter, Collin A. He had a perfectly cooked London Broil and I tried the Fish and Chips and it was delish. Hats off to the Chef, Back of the House crew and the entire team. Well done - keep up the good job!

The decor in the restaurant is like an old English tavern! It's super cute and the ambiance is really nice. Our table got the fish and chips, bourbon chicken, beef Wellington and the tavern burger. Everything was great! The fish was battered perfectly and was crispy in all the right places. I really enjoyed the tartar sauce and wish I had more! Loved the huge fries/chips. The bourbon chicken was juicy and very flavorful. Fish and chips is always a hit or miss and this was definitely a hit!

Everything on the menu was a 5, okay I make my own gravy and it wasn't that (but it was good, and a little salty but very good with the bangers and mash. ) Bangers & mash very good! Burger very good! Liverpool was playing and I imagine it's a great space to watch this if that's your speed. Sunday lunch menu had a good mixture of things. I was drawn into the special, which was a pork belly quiche with Irish cheese and green onions. This was ultimately quite fine. Big quiche fan but this wasn't my favorite crust nor my favorite cheese. And if I hadn't been told there was meat in it I'm not sure I would have noticed. The side salad had a nice balsamic dressing. What was most bothersome, though, was the size of the quiche. It was cheap enough but not really a lunch potion. Wish I had gone with a sanwich. Drinks were good-pretty standard. The service was astounding and everyone was so nice. Probably wouldn't come back for the food but if you want to watch some football (soccer) it's a nice option.

Whether it's with friends or just the two of us, we've never been disappointed. Let's see how this visit went. We were immediately seated once we walked inside. It wasn't completely packed for a Saturday afternoon but staff was really busy with customers. The vibe was one that made us comfortable for the most part. After a few minutes of looking over the menu, we were ready to order. My selection was the Tavern Monte Cristo which consisted of chargrilled chicken and ham as the protein with Gouda cheese and cider aioli fried in a tempura batter with tavern fries. The meal was served hot and ready and tasted great. And having the cranberry coulis as a dipping sauce really added some taste. My only gripe with the sandwich was the amount of protein. I'm not sure if I ate most of it when we dined in, but when I ate the rest for dinner, it was more breading than anything else. Still good but they could've included more. Nonetheless, I was full. Good stuff as always from Park Lane Tavern :)

As always, the parking here was easy, even though it has street parking. We arrived on a Thursday…read morenight, around 8 o'clock, and it was already starting to pick up. The bar was getting full, but there were still a few tables left to choose from. This is a dive, similar to Poe's Pub, so if that's not your scene, don't come here. That said, we really like the character of this place, even if it smells a little funky upstairs. It adds to the character and charm, or at least, that's what we tell ourselves. The same bartender as usual (still don't know his name) helped us. They do have a sour beer. It's not as fruity as I like, though, still passable. (Seriously, Patrick Henry's, y'all need to order some from Texas and Oklahoma sours for the real deal; Martin House Brewing Co. in Ft Worth does them so right). Anyway, we ordered the goat cheese bread appetizer (warm apple butter, goat cheese, and sunflower seeds = immense pleasure). For entrees, I grabbed the Hot Chicken Pizza (hot sauce and pickles!), and my partner went for the chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. There was so much food that we had leftovers, as usual. They heated up well in the air fryer and were nearly as good. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE. I will admit, it does look slightly seedy, but the food here is magnificent. The pizza was thin, crispy, and full of delicious flavor. I swear, the chefs here know what they are doing with their menu. It's simple, yet elegant. The appetizers are simple, yet they easily compete with The Brooklyn and Pinky's apps, for example, which are more affordable and in a more relaxed environment. Do yourself a favor and get the goat cheese. It sings. The customers here are chill and interesting, and the bartender is calm and cool; he never seems out of sorts, even when the bar is full with a line out the door. I wholeheartedly recommend Patrick Henry's. We have been here twice now, and the service and food have been excellent both times (Sept 2025, May 2026).
