It's a small establishment so they don't take reservations, but we were able to grab two seats and the bar. For our first round we got the giggle water and the verdant lady. The verdant lady was absolutely delicious so my husband ordered one for our second round. The giggle water was interesting and well crafted, but not for us. Verdant lady is such a hidden gem and I am obsessed with it. I find their cocktails to be so thoughtfully curated and they have an amazing range of choices so there really is something for everyone here. This is such a cute little bar. Our afterwork girls hang here was great, but definitely very intimate and good for small parties. They share a food menu with Les Crepes, so we ordered drinks and food. I had a crepe with fruit and Nutella and it was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. I was overwhelmed looking at my friends heavy thick melted cheese on her ham and cheese omelette. It made my stomach hurt looking at it, but she enjoyed it haha. Stopped into the Verdant Lady for drinks with a friend. I tried the Ice Queen, and it was good. Nothing to write home about. This is a cocktail bar, something kind of trending in RVA right now. I tend to go for really dry drinks, and cocktails tend to be sweet, so cocktail bars aren't really made for me. But it's a pretty spot. Dark. Moody. Small. Kinda feminine. Seating is mostly at the bar, standing, or two group spots right at the door. If you want food, the food comes from Les Crepes next door. Glad we arrived when we did, because not 5 minutes later every seat was taken. (The space is SMALL- maybe 10 bar seats and 3 tables). I've been dying to try Verdant Lady. It's a bit out of the way for me, so I've had a lot of time hyping it up in my mind. It photographs really well! It looked a lot different in person than it did in the photographs I've seen of it. It was a bit more narrow and smaller, but it was still very pretty and aesthetically pleasing. As a cinephile, I adore the cocktail names. This is a really fun spot to meet up with friends or go on a date. I came here with my best friend and her fiance. My friend and I obsessed over the names of the drinks (our lockdown activity was watching the AFI Top 100 films). Her fiance is a huge cocktail fan. We all enjoyed the drinks we tried. I especially liked my Ice Queen. I'm a huge sucker for any prosecco based cocktails. The Verdant Lady photographs well. All your cocktail Yelp photos will look great. There was a bit of an interesting smell when we went, but I got used to it pretty quickly. We were seated at the bar and it wasn't too busy when we visited. Such a fun spot!!! My husband and I visited the bar a few times before it changed to The Verdant Lady, but since it switched over we've been at least 3-4 times on our way home after dinner in the city. It's such a fun vibe and I really like that it is laid back. The first time we went the music was a little bit of a different vibe, but I feel like every time we've been since the music selection has been good. The owner is also super nice, she has bartended a couple times for us and this last time she was sitting at the bar and we started talking to her a little. We are definitely partial to bourbon drinks but I've had a few different ones they are always super tasty. I need to start documenting all the cocktails I've tried of there's we've had an old fashioned and Manhattans before and some of their other cocktails. Top Gun seems to Ring a bell. Honestly all good. If you are looking for a low key laid back bar to have a couple cocktails on a date night... this is the spot! The only thing that threw me off about this place was the location! This is not a place you would expect to be in a little strip mall, we're from out of town and the signage wasn't very obvious for us so we walked right past it at first! The bartenders were great-- knowledgeable, friendly and fast with the drinks! Somehow yelp had this tagged as a tiki bar, which may be because of the decor (lots of alligators?), but that does not present so much in their menu so don't come expecting to find a zombie or junglebird on the menu. The menu is good! Nicely crafted cocktails. If you're hungry, you can order from the restaurant next door, and they have a cute little pass through in the door to sit the plates when they're done. Truly a 5 star experience at the Verdant Lady. I stopped in around 8ish on a Tuesday night, so it was pretty quiet and low key. This is a little strip of a bar with great lighting, a really good playlist (at least while I was there), and a super nice bartender. I tried the Verdant Lady, their namesake cocktail, and it was great! Good portion, balanced flavor, and a good amount of drink for what I paid ($13ish). I then challenged the bartender to make me a non-alcoholic drink after that and she made me an extremely delicious one! They have N/A liquor that you can ask for, and she even put cute glitter on it as well. I sat and read for an hour or so and really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend for a quiet night out. Could get busy and very squished on weekends I imagine, not a great place for a large party. Will most definitely be back with my partner and friends! read more

What a cute little vibe! Tucked a way on Gaskins Rd The Verdant Lady is an intimate bar placed in the Gayton Crossing shopping center. The overall aesthetic is super cute. Plush seating, low lights, greenery and exposed brick with a blend of rustic and modern decor. The Verdant Lady's drink menu included a variety of movie themed drinks that will definitely have you walking down memory lane. They also have have savory and sweet crepe options that are catered by Les Crepes. I opted out of food and went straight for the drinks. First, I ordered the Dusk til Dawn cocktail which included Rose', lemon, simple syrup, Angostura and bitters. The drink was very refreshing and is the perfect balance of Rose' and lemon. After guzzling my first drink down I decided to order a spicy Arnold Paloma. Anyone that knows me knows I absolutely love Paloma's! It was the perfect balance of tart and spice. I would definitely rate their version of a Paloma a 9.5/10 and add it to my list of favorites. My husband ordered the Pineapple Express which gave tiki bar vibes. He seemed to enjoy his drink as well. The Verdant Lady was the perfect ending to our night of galavanting through the county. The bartender was extremely friendly and welcoming. There was also a good mix of music. If you are looking for a lowkey, off the grid bar with a calm ambience this is the place for you. Shimmy up to the bar because there are not many other seats (it's a narrow, shoebox of a bar). The whole menu is fun and prices are around 12 bucks. This hidden gem is a must for the RVA cocktail connoisseur! This little cocktail bar is small and surprising. The single-door entrance is easy to look past but the cocktail neon sign catches your eye. Inside, the ambiance is cool, simple, timeless. The wood and green tones make you feel right at home. There is a single long bar with a few other seating options so space is limited, which means while you're there you feel like a VIP. The two women working were lively, interactive, and were ready to whip up our next order. We were there on a quiet Wednesday night, which is usually just as busy as any other night according to the bartenders. We were able to order from the food menu at "Les Crepes" next door which was also a fun experience. Especially since the food was delivered to the bar via a sliding shelf hidden in the bookcase. But the main attraction of the night, despite the good food, was, of course, the cocktails! While a full service bar, the signature cocktails were unique and artfully crafted with surprising flavor blends that took us by delightful surprise. I cannot recommend the "Love, Actually" enough! I went here with a small group of girlfriends for some after dinner drinks on a Saturday night. The place is super cute and vibey. It has a very trendy atmosphere with a smorgasbord of music genres playing in the background. The bartender who served us was super nice and was happy to make mocktails for a few of the ladies in the group. The reason for 4 stars: -- While I loved the loungey feel, there wasn't enough seating. There were 2, low tables (think coffee table height) and regular bar seating. One table had bench seating that seats ~4-5 & the other had small stools that seats ~5-6. -- The drink a couple of us got, Corpse Bride, wasn't strong at all. I had 3 within ~2hrs and I felt completely normal. Even though it was a weak drink, the flavor was delicious! -- There weren't any mocktail options available; the bartender had to whip something up. Having said that, the ladies did say that their drinks were really good. Regardless of the cons, I'd happily go back. Very cute bar located in the Tuckahoe area. We went Saturday night after dinner around 10pm. It's located in the corner of the shopping center, we missed it when we first drove by. The only seating available is at the bar (I think there is a corner table at the entrance too). So if the bar is full, then there is a ledge against the wall behind the bar seating you can put your drinks on if you want to stand and chat with your date. Thankfully we were able to get the last two chairs at the bar. The two gals were busy but after some time we were acknowledged and given waters, then ordered drinks. I had the Moving Castle, he had the Dead Poet. As someone else wrote, the drinks were nothing special. He thought his had too much syrup in it. Mine was ok, but had as much egg white in it as liquid. It was good, but had just left Blue Atlas where the cocktails are phenomenal so couldn't help but to compare the two and give this one a "meh" rating. I also didn't like that the bartenders were reaching across those sitting at the bar to take and deliver drink orders to those standing along the wall. That's definitely not 5 star service.. Also, it would be nice to see more diversity in the drink flavor profiles. Outside of their take on the espresso martini, most drinks include a fruit note. read more

I was excited to visit this bar based on their website description of a friendly welcoming funky environment. I decided to check it out before taking a friend for cocktails and potentially dinner. I stopped by on Friday shortly after opening. I was the only customer. The bar was cool and I loved the decor. Upon entry there was no greeting from the bartender so I just found a seat at the end of the bar. Within a couple of minutes she came over (no smile or welcoming look) and I told her this was my first visit. There was no offer to introduce me to the bar so I ask a few questions. It was like pulling teeth to get any information ......she could not even tell me why the bar was decorated the way it was! I was not even given any information on how the food works. Lacking any useful information I simply ordered a drink ....... I will say it was fantastic. To sum it up...... the decor is great, drinks superb but there is no welcoming family feeling in this bar. Please get a bartender that can make great drinks and also has good bar-side manner. Maybe she was just having a bad day. Unfortunately I will have to take my friend to a more welcoming environment rather than chance another bad experience. read more

This is by far the best bar in Henrico. It's such a hidden gem. I don't always want to go out downtown because of parking and how busy the places I like tend to get. This place has an amazing ambience, great artisanal drinks, and really fun food from the restaurant next door. The bartenders are very friendly and the music is perfect. The bar is quite literally tucked into the corner and completely hidden from the road, which is unfortunate, because its gem inside.
