This is such a cute little bar. Our afterwork girls hang here was great, but definitely very intimate and good for small parties. They share a food menu with Les Crepes, so we ordered drinks and food. I had a crepe with fruit and Nutella and it was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. I was overwhelmed looking at my friends heavy thick melted cheese on her ham and cheese omelette. It made my stomach hurt looking at it, but she enjoyed it haha. One friend ordered fries and they were heavily spiced with like paprika or something. Would have enjoyed them plain though or to have the option. Drinks were great and the atmosphere and service by the one staff at the bar was great.

A beautifully decorated intimate cocktail bar. A little hard to find as it sits in the corner without great signage. Not a lot of seating inside but it's perfect to sit at the bar. Only one area for seating over 2 people and that was with stools. Not super comfortable to sit for any length of time. The bartender was great and checked on us a lot. We ordered from Les Crepes and the food was fantastic. Such a nice option to be able to order easily from the restaurant.

Stopped into the Verdant Lady for drinks with a friend. I tried the Ice Queen, and it was good. Nothing to write home about. This is a cocktail bar, something kind of trending in RVA right now. I tend to go for really dry drinks, and cocktails tend to be sweet, so cocktail bars aren't really made for me. But it's a pretty spot. Dark. Moody. Small. Kinda feminine. Seating is mostly at the bar, standing, or two group spots right at the door. If you want food, the food comes from Les Crepes next door. I got the CocoRico savory crepe, and thought it was okay, but too sweet for a savory crepe. Probably not a spot I'd personally come to, but I could see it being something people like.

We arrived right at 5pm to make sure we got a spot for their great Wednesday Happy Hour ($2 off all specialty cocktails). Glad we arrived when we did, because not 5 minutes later every seat was taken. (The space is SMALL- maybe 10 bar seats and 3 tables). The service wasn't great as our bartender seemed to be in a particularly bad mood, but regardless we did get our drinks and both were great. We just had to ask for water a few times before we got some. We ordered from Les Crepes next door and that process was seamless! Only took our food 10 minutes to come out. Great vibe, great drinks, great space!

Hidden gem! A great little cocktail bar not too far from home. Unique drink menu, good service and an acceptable noise level (I struggle when a place is too loud to have a conversation) The place is pretty small, just 2 tables in front by the door, and then seating the length of the bar. We will definitely stop back in

I've been dying to try Verdant Lady. It's a bit out of the way for me, so I've had a lot of time hyping it up in my mind. It photographs really well! It looked a lot different in person than it did in the photographs I've seen of it. It was a bit more narrow and smaller, but it was still very pretty and aesthetically pleasing. As a cinephile, I adore the cocktail names. This is a really fun spot to meet up with friends or go on a date. I came here with my best friend and her fiance. My friend and I obsessed over the names of the drinks (our lockdown activity was watching the AFI Top 100 films). Her fiance is a huge cocktail fan. We all enjoyed the drinks we tried. I especially liked my Ice Queen. I'm a huge sucker for any prosecco based cocktails. The Verdant Lady photographs well. All your cocktail Yelp photos will look great. There was a bit of an interesting smell when we went, but I got used to it pretty quickly. We were seated at the bar and it wasn't too busy when we visited. I would be interested in returning to try more of their cocktails.

Such a fun spot!!! My husband and I visited the bar a few times before it changed to The Verdant Lady, but since it switched over we've been at least 3-4 times on our way home after dinner in the city. It's such a fun vibe and I really like that it is laid back. The first time we went the music was a little bit of a different vibe, but I feel like every time we've been since the music selection has been good. The owner is also super nice, she has bartended a couple times for us and this last time she was sitting at the bar and we started talking to her a little. We are definitely partial to bourbon drinks but I've had a few different ones they are always super tasty. I need to start documenting all the cocktails I've tried of there's we've had an old fashioned and Manhattans before and some of their other cocktails. Top Gun seems to Ring a bell. Honestly all good. If you are looking for a low key laid back bar to have a couple cocktails on a date night... this is the spot! To be honest this is much more our vibe than The Park the new spot open in the city.

The only thing that threw me off about this place was the location! This is not a place you would expect to be in a little strip mall, we're from out of town and the signage wasn't very obvious for us so we walked right past it at first! The bartenders were great-- knowledgeable, friendly and fast with the drinks! Somehow yelp had this tagged as a tiki bar, which may be because of the decor (lots of alligators?), but that does not present so much in their menu so don't come expecting to find a zombie or junglebird on the menu. The menu is good! Nicely crafted cocktails. If you're hungry, you can order from the restaurant next door, and they have a cute little pass through in the door to sit the plates when they're done. I loved the bathroom lol especially the framed poem! If I lived locally I would stop by here often.

Truly a 5 star experience at the Verdant Lady. I stopped in around 8ish on a Tuesday night, so it was pretty quiet and low key. This is a little strip of a bar with great lighting, a really good playlist (at least while I was there), and a super nice bartender. I tried the Verdant Lady, their namesake cocktail, and it was great! Good portion, balanced flavor, and a good amount of drink for what I paid ($13ish). I then challenged the bartender to make me a non-alcoholic drink after that and she made me an extremely delicious one! They have N/A liquor that you can ask for, and she even put cute glitter on it as well. I sat and read for an hour or so and really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend for a quiet night out. Could get busy and very squished on weekends I imagine, not a great place for a large party. Will most definitely be back with my partner and friends!

Beautiful hidden gem. Finally got to check it out this past week with a bestie and...I will be returning. Love the atmosphere and the drinks are so clever and delicious!!! They are serving foods by their neighbor Les Crepes and they're fantastic!!! If you go, you have to at least have their featured Verdant Lady cocktail. A+++ will def be goin back and order the remaining cocktails I haven't had yet. Haha

What a cute little vibe! Tucked a way on Gaskins Rd The Verdant Lady is an intimate bar placed in the Gayton Crossing shopping center. The overall aesthetic is super cute. Plush seating, low lights, greenery and exposed brick with a blend of rustic and modern decor. The Verdant Lady's drink menu included a variety of movie themed drinks that will definitely have you walking down memory lane. They also have have savory and sweet crepe options that are catered by Les Crepes. I opted out of food and went straight for the drinks. First, I ordered the Dusk til Dawn cocktail which included Rose', lemon, simple syrup, Angostura and bitters. The drink was very refreshing and is the perfect balance of Rose' and lemon. After guzzling my first drink down I decided to order a spicy Arnold Paloma. Anyone that knows me knows I absolutely love Paloma's! It was the perfect balance of tart and spice. I would definitely rate their version of a Paloma a 9.5/10 and add it to my list of favorites. My husband ordered the Pineapple Express which gave tiki bar vibes. He seemed to enjoy his drink as well. The Verdant Lady was the perfect ending to our night of galavanting through the county. The bartender was extremely friendly and welcoming. There was also a good mix of music. If you are looking for a lowkey, off the grid bar with a calm ambience this is the place for you. It would be perfect for a first date if you are trying to get to know someone.

After dinner next door we decided to check this little place out for some cocktails. Its small but very charming. Love how it is decorated, feels very cozy. They serve their signature cocktails and food from restaurant next door so it's perfect combo! Ladies at the bar were amazing and we felt very welcomed! It was pretty busy night but we got our orders in quick, at first we had to stand but soon we were able to sit at one of the tables they have. I had Verdant Lady their signature cocktail and it's was delish! Prices are very reasonable. Such a great addition to West End! Will definitely come back.

Cheers, you found a gem This bar is tucked in a tough to see corner of a strip mall (we missed it the first time) but it is worth the trip ! Shimmy up to the bar because there are not many other seats (it's a narrow, shoebox of a bar). The whole menu is fun and prices are around 12 bucks. Ask the bartender for their favorites- ours guided us to drinks we enjoyed, the Verdant Lady & Mr. Tumnus. The Verdant Lady was essentially a mojito with gin - fantastic. Mr Tumnus felt like a gin hot toddy. The atmosphere was trendy and it was busy, but there was space to breathe. It was not a hot, sweaty bar with a bunch of college kids ( a win for my middle aged self).

Upon entering, the hostess greeted us and, at our request, seated us outside because it was a beautiful day. The restaurant venue and ambiance were modern and well kept. The bathroom was clean and nice. The outside seating area was also fairly clean with comfortable seating. Our server (neither my partner nor I caught her name as she said it: she had beautiful braids with blonde streaks woven in) started on the right foot, took our orders promptly, and brought out our waters. I ordered the Smothered Pork Chop, and my partner chose the Fried Chicken, subbed pimento mac and cheese for the collard greens (who can blame her?). The food did not come out promptly. My best guess is that our server was seated with a large table and prioritized a better tip over the two top (us) outside. Eventually, the food came out (~25 minutes, so not terrible), but for the number of patrons in the restaurant, it was too long. My partner's mashed potatoes were cold, but she said the fried chicken and mac and cheese were fantastic. The potatoes tasted delicious, but they were simply not warm. My pork chop was very thick, like a filet, which is okay, but it wasn't what I expected. I prefer a thin pork chop, so that it cooks all the way through (more solid, not soft). It was passable. The beans and rice (Hoppin' John) were also not what I was expecting; I was thinking more New Orleans-style, but they were bland, like cream of mushroom soup on unseasoned beans and rice. We ordered the banana pudding for dessert. We ended up waiting for that for ~20 minutes as well, a half-pint glass of banana pudding with underripe bananas mixed in. Note to the chef: heat ripens bananas, so you could toss a few in a skillet with a little oil in a pinch (egg yolks also work). We waited for another 10 minutes, and I finally went inside and asked the hostess for the check. I realize it is difficult to serve, but you must also consider asking your colleagues for help if you have too much going on. All in all, the food was satisfactory, but the service was lacking. We ended up waiting an hour longer than we should have had to. I semi-recommend Farm and Oak, but look to be seated with the better server, John. He and the hostess saved our experience.
