5 Stars (for Mark) I found Rare Society on TikTok and made the drive up from Bellevue with my girlfriend, curious to see if this place lived up to its upscale steakhouse reputation. The short answer ..it's complicated but one person made all the difference. When we got there about 30 minutes early, we were told we could sit in the lounge and still receive full service, which was a nice touch. That said, there was no one at the front to greet us for a minute or two upon arrival. Small thing, but when a restaurant markets itself as a high-end experience, that first moment matters. We got seated quickly and then came Mark. He wasn't dressed like a server, so I honestly wasn't sure who he was at first, but his level of attentiveness made it immediately clear this was someone who genuinely cares about the guest experience. He explained that he was supporting our actual waiter, who was also covering bartending duties that evening. Whether that's a staffing concern or just how the night unfolded, I'll leave that to management to reflect on. What I won't leave unacknowledged is this..Mark was extraordinary! He knew the menu inside and out, kept our water filled, checked on us consistently, and made us feel genuinely welcomed, not just served. He even took the time to ask for our names. He spoke highly of our waiter throughout the entire evening, which says a lot about his character. My girlfriend and I were both floored. I'd take someone in a hoodie with Mark's warmth and knowledge over a perfectly dressed server going through the motions any day. The entire experience was held up by Mark. The entire time all the way to the end. It seems like Mark was required to relay all orders to our server. Ultimately our actual server simply delivered only the desert and checked if it was good. When my water glass was empty during dessert, it went unnoticed by him. Mark caught it. Of course he did. This isn't about entitlement. This is about living up to the competition and high end standard Food was Fantastic. Compliments to the chef The Surcharge, Worth Mentioning The receipt included a 4% surcharge described as covering competitive industry compensation, including health benefits for valued full-time employees. I respect transparency around labor costs. But here's the question worth sitting with: if this charge genuinely covers employee health benefits, why is it removable on request? A real operational cost doesn't disappear because a guest felt uncomfortable asking. It starts to feel less like a principled stance and more like a pricing strategy dressed in goodwill language. Five stars and they belong entirely to Mark. He is the standard this restaurant should be measuring itself against. Rare Society, if you're reading this..promote him, learn from him, and make sure he knows how much he elevated what could have been a forgettable evening into something genuinely memorable. Really nice dinner with 3 couples at Rare Society. Cool vibe as you walk in - I like the decor but you could still see strip mall parking lot from half our seats (I'd recommend some shear curtains). Drinks and crab dip app were very solid. After much deliberation we went with both of the steak platters since we had 6 hungry folks. We really liked the variety of cuts! All had excellent flavor but were a touch overdone. Our medium rare platter was medium and our medium platter leaned Med Well after resting on the platter. Great food, and amazing atmosphere. Especially for Everett!! Kudos. However we were a bit disappointed in the service. Slow and somewhat disorganized. There were 10 of us who were guests of the person having the party. After they brought a second bottle of wine, to complete the first glass pouring, it was left on the table unopened. We finally got someone's attention about 15 minutes later and were then able to toast our friend. That was a bit uncomfortable because some people began to drink anyway (before a toast) and held up their glass for a second pour before the rest of us got any. It got quite awkward trying to say politely "we haven't been served ours yet and we want to do a toast." The hostess of our party got confused as to what was happening and thought some people wanted red instead of white and proceeded to order a red, which the server went to get instead of finishing poring again!!! Then, the people who wanted white from the start got red wine (which was delicious by the way. I don't know if some of the servers were new (there were a couple of people bringing bottles and glasses that seemed to be trying to take direction from the lead server) or if there were too many of us or what, but it was a bit unpleasant. Wow! Just Wow! Never thought we would find a spot like this in Mill Creek! At the last minute we called to see if there was room for two on Father's Day and they were able to squeeze us in. Our table was near the kitchen where Chef James and his talented Team were preparing fun delicious food! Our server Sarah and her assistant Jason did an exceptional job making sure we wanted for nothing. The ambience was chic and contemporary with great beats in the background.. The place was a little packed on a Saturday night, so we sat at the bar! The service was totally amazing! We were constantly being refilled and checked on! Loved it!!! The food is sooo flavorful and nicely presented! The bacon fell apart completely!!! The meats in the executive platter were just beautifully cooked & carefully placed on the platter with blissfully flavorful! We went to Rare Society for my dad's birthday dinner and everyone at the table was very impressed with the food. Not one dish was disappointing, my personal favorites were the Caesar salad and the truffle butter rolls. Our party was quite large and we had two severs to accommodate us on a busy Saturday night. Both of them were so kind and friendly, they made sure to explain everything to both sides of the table and even though my mom's dinner was a teeny bit behind all of the other dishes the staff made sure we did not feel like she was forgotten. Was recommended by coworkers to try this steakhouse and it did not disappoint. It had a nice, modern atmosphere. Comfy couches. Our server, Nahoum, was super nice and very professional. We got the miso carrots, associate board (medium rare), rolls, and the whipped potatoes. The miso carrots were a bit spicier than I expected. I probably wouldn't get that again, I can't handle the spice very well. The associate board was delicious. My favorite cut was the Denver cut. I love that they include sauces for the board as well. This unique thing was what drew me to the restaurant. The crisp/edges of all the steak were perfectly cooked. Whipped potatoes and rolls were excellent. So good! Finally got a chance to try this spot for happy hour and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant has such a nice cozy art deco vibe. Customer service from the time I walked in until we left was good and the team was great about keeping our water glasses full at all times. My friend and I shared the Brussels sprouts and grilled artichoke - both were delicious and prepared perfectly. I had the tuna tartar and loved that for my dinner. My friend had the smash burger and said it was the juiciest burger she's ever had and that it tasted like steak. My old fashioned was the best I've ever had as well. Unfortunately the place is not living up to expectations, our favorite smash burger was exclusively salted, the beef skewers were all poor choices of meat loaded with gristle. My favorite is happy hour. They have a Smashburger for 12 daughters that's made out of Wago beef and it's amazing. You can only get it during happy hour. I like seeing at the bar. The bartenders are friendly and there's other good appetizers to choose from. I've been to the restaurant for dinner as well. It is very good food, but it's on the higher end of the budget. I would go here for a treat but expect for two people. If you have drinks it's gonna cost you three to $400. read more

Have to start by saying how thrilled I am to have a steak house of this quality north of Bellevue or Seattle. I wouldn't put this at the same level as the Met or Daniel's, but it did scratch that itch for me and many things we ate were fantastic. It's located in an unsuspecting strip mall so you wouldn't expect a lot, but on the inside the place is gorgeous. Very moody and gatsby-ish. Service was great, our waiter was attentive and made good recommendations. He let us know to put our whole order in at once because they rest the steaks and it can take a while. We started with the Parker house rolls and crab dip. For dinner we had waygu, lobster mashed potatoes and miso carrots. Lobster mashers were absolutely to die for. Sadly the carrots were burnt to hell. I feel like burnt veggies are in at steak houses right now and I don't understand why, it always comes with some disclaimer like "our veggies are intentionally charred to get you the flavor of the grill", like no they are black they are literally carbon it doesn't taste good. Oh well though, that is forgiven since everything else was good. It is pricey, you can easily expect to spend $300-400 for two people if you order apps and drinks. Rare is always an awesome dining experience. We came in with a group of eight and they delivered at the highest level. A massive thank you to Bobby, our server and his sidekick Connor. They took such great care of us all night long. We started with drinks and appetizers. The drinks are always healthy pours and the cocktails are masterpieces. Mmm I had high hopes for this place since there were so many good reviews. We didn't have a reservation and just walked in on a Sunday night and got seated right away since it was not busy. The server was amazing though!! Loved her and kept checking in on us throughout the meal. The executive was very underwhelming with the price at $200. There were six of us and I guess we could have gotten two but the meat cuts were alright plus we got sides. I love the variety of sauces it came with but they were all okay to me. I kept alternating sauces since I didn't really have a favorite. Parker house rolls were soft but all I tasted was butter and I get it's suppose to be covered in butter but it kind of tasted like I was eating a spoonful of melted butter. The onion rings were super sour. It might be because they were pickled fried onion rings but kind of hard to eat because they were so sour and eating it with the sauce didn't help lessen the sourness, it added more sourness. They were very oily too so they weren't that crunchy. I thought the crab dip was okay but my brother really liked it!! I liked the bread it came with. We also got the roasted asparagus and roasted mushrooms. I personally didn't eat those but my family did and they said they were both salty. I want to give a huge shout-out to Rare Society our very first experience here was absolutely exquisite! I chose this restaurant to celebrate my fiancé's 48th birthday, and it couldn't have been a better choice. When we first walked in, I'll admit the welcome was the only negative part of the evening. Two hosts were at the counter, but neither greeted us with a smile or even a hello. I had to initiate the conversation and let them know we had a 5:00 reservation. Luckily, everything after that more than made up for it. The atmosphere is divine. From the stylish décor, to the classic Rat Pack and Michael Jackson photos on the wall, down to the menu design and plating it's all the little details that set the vibe. Our server was phenomenal. I feel bad I can not remember his name, but he was excellent! He answered all our questions, explained dishes in detail, and managed to stay attentive even while juggling other tables. Empty plates and glasses were cleared quickly, little spills were handled right away, and we felt taken care of the entire evening. Drinks & Starters: Shirley Temple Shots of Jameson & house-made Ginger Ale Caesar Salad (an absolute must-try!) fresh greens, the perfect amount of dressing, crunchy croutons, two anchovies, and a mountain of cheese. Honestly, the best Caesar I've ever had. It easily fed the three of us as a starter. Main Course: My daughter had the King Salmon beautiful presentation, great portion size. She polished it off, though next time we'd ask for it cooked just a touch more. My fiancé and I shared The Associate (a selection of meats) with Miso-Glazed Carrots on the side. Every cut of meat was excellent, and it came with five sauces: bone marrow, BBQ, Santa Maria-style salsa, béarnaise, and steak sauce. My personal favorites were the béarnaise and steak sauce, while my fiancé loved the bone marrow he described it as "like butter" on the meat. The salsa was a bit too peppery for me, and as someone from Santa Maria, CA I know my salsa! Dessert: My daughter ordered the Vanilla Crème Brûlée beautifully presented and devoured down to the very last bite. My fiancé had the Tres Leches Cake with Ice Cream pure heaven. Short answer: Drop everything and come here! I know, I know..." it's where? Seriously?" That was my first thought but, thanks to a dear friend, I took the leap. YAY! Quite a bit longer answer: We had planned on going into Bellevue for dinner, but things changed and I dashed in for a take-out order at Rare Society. Yes, it is in a bit of a strip mall by Amazon Go. Yes, it has a bit of an unassuming entrance. Do not let that dissuade you. Inside, it is gorgeous! Here are just a few of the reasons for my FIVE STAR review: I was instantly welcomed in. For those who know me, customer service is paramount. They clearly agree! One of the gals at the front desk, Michelle, happily ushered me into the bar, brought me a menu and made sure my glass of wine was on its way. How nice! The ambiance is what I refer to as "relaxed cool". You could come in with that pretty dress you just bought or a nice pair of jeans, either one works. The bar was rather busy (it was a Friday night at about 6:00pm) but everyone appeared to be well taken care of by the staff, nice! The noise level is happy (yes, that is a proper "level"). It was clear to me that people could easily hear those sitting with them by the engaged looks on everyone's faces without it being either ridiculously loud or uncomfortably quiet. Did I mention the ambience? Big fan! The color scheme is dark and rich with lots of glass to reflect. The bar area is gorgeous, with the bartenders dashing around like they're choreographed. Having owned a service business, I love seeing employees, like those at Rare Society, who are busy but still making sure people are taken care of. Evan, for instance, is fantastic! Please do not poach him! He is such an asset! And the kitchen is open for all to see, which I love. While I did not eat in the dining room area, it was, again, like the patrons in the bar, pretty evident that people were having fun, enjoying their meals, and pretty happy. The noise level was quieter but not a crypt. THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!!! I mean EL GAUCHO amazing! WOW!!! Please remember, I was bringing it home (probably a 15-20-minute drive due to traffic). The items were well boxed and ready to serve once I arrived home. Now, back to the actual food...these happy carnivores are still swooning! I ordered both the bone-in ribeye and the boneless version. With that, we had broccolini, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, a fabulous wedge salad, and sauteed mushrooms. Oh, and the butter cake, you really do need that, it was delightful! Both steaks arrived perfectly medium rare and perfectly seasoned! YAY! The portions are accurately described and quite generous! Yep. It is a bit pricey. And deservedly so! Both my husband and I agree these may have been some of the nicest steaks we have had, and we do enjoy going to great steak houses - this is now one of them! The service took awhile since it was busy, but multiple people were helpful in getting our order in and when we needed things like water once they noticed our server was busy. To start we got the tartare, the associate board, side of carrots and whipped potatoes, and two drinks. Total came to about $230. The tartare was a miss for us, I personally like a tartare with more integrity. Some bigger pieces, but the coloring was slightly off and was more of a mince. Drinks, appetizers, main meal all took their sweet time to arrive. The restaurant is beautiful inside. No dress code, literally saw a man wearing pajamas. Everything was delicious - absolutely recommend the asparagus & Parker house rolls. The bacon was sweet and didn't really taste like the gochujang sauce. I've been to Rare Society several times and had amazing experience. However, came with two other people for happy hour and we didn't have reservations so we got added onto the waitlist. When I arrived to check-in, the restaurant was already packed and hostess mentioned it would be an hour wait. So we went ahead and added our names to the list and went next door for a drink. We didn't have to wait that long, about 45 mins. Got sat at the bar. We started out with the espresso martinis, which were really good and would highly recommend. Once we got our drinks, we started with the smash burger and rolls to start. The smash burger was perfect and a good price on HH. Once our apps came out, we ordered our main courses and decided to share the associate board, side of mash potatoes and asparagus. From the time we placed our order to get our food, it took over an hour which was a huge gap in between of just waiting. We didn't get offered with ordering anymore drinks either. Great service- my water never made it past the half way point, and I believe they have a helper aside from the waitress that ensures you have what you need. They have a very generous happy hour menu, and we tried a good number of things. Wedge: fantastic wedge with all the things you'd expect on it. My only complaint is that there was a tad too much dressing. When I broke it up, it was swimming in sauce. Great otherwise Fries: perfectly cooked! Crunchy but not hard. And I love garlic- so there's never too much. I dipped them in my extra salad dressing lol Brussels: they were over cooked, unfortunately, a little salty, and very oily. I wouldn't order them again. Shrimp: I was really sad about these. They were cooked perfectly. loved the breading and crunch, and had a little spice to them. However, they were unbearable salty! After eating a few, I started peeling the breading and wiping them so I could eat them. Also a no-go for me in the future. Smash burger: perfectly cooked burger, with everything you want on a smash burger. The table behind me complained that it was salty, but I found it less salty than my other dishes. Old fashioned: aside from not coming with a cherry, it was perfect! I have a lot of brothers, so I know a good old fashioned. To some it up, I think this is a great restaurant. I have tried their steak and pasta on another occasion from a take home order that was great. But my dishes on the HH menu, while being prepared well, were just way too salty. We visited on a Sunday night with a reservation, and the restaurant was clearly very popular as all the tables were occupied. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We ordered the Executive, and the wait time was about 30 minutes. The meat quality was excellent, and the bone marrow was especially delicious! We had requested the beef cooked medium, but it arrived closer to medium-rare, so we asked for it to be reheated. The restaurant had lovely décor, creating a pleasant atmosphere. I absolutely had such a wonderful experience. It was my birthday dinner gifted by my lovely partner and I was not disappointed! The appetizers were delicious. We got the truffle fries, alfredo, au gratin, and the rolls. Every single one of them was delicious. The only thing is that I wish the truffle fries had truffle oil on them instead of just the plain truffle aioli, but that was also delicious. The entree we had the steak plate and god it was so good! I am not a big fan of the sauces they provided but I am sure it will fit someone else's' palette. As for dessert, I got my birthday ice cream scoop and the banana foster cheesecake for my partner. It was nice and creamy and the flavors were extravagant. The service were so nice and I even got a birthday card! The ambience was nice and calming even though it was busy. Excellent place for a little date night The restaurant itself is very clean and spacious with a stunning layout and design. Greeted by staff members and your drinks will forever be topped off and if you would love to get your money's worth for the experience and food this would be an excellent choice We started off with starters The lobster - amazing and the staff did all the hard work for you so your fingers don't get dirty and the flavor was amazing Fettuccine - very creamy, topped off with extra cheese, and flavored was nice Porter rolls - it was warmly served, I personally like it my hubby said he can pass on it Entree: The associate board - it did take some time for it to come right out since our starters came out almost instantly so once we were done we waited for a big and they cleared our table and got everything set up for the steak board. Let's start with the good. Our server provided great service, was super helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, wine list etc. Never felt like we waiting for anything. We started with the rolls, oysters and Cesar salad and lamb lollipops which were excellent. We then had the steak board and things quickly went downhill. Out of the three cuts only the filet was tender. The other two were incredibly tough and lacked flavor. Steak shouldn't need sauce to give it flavor but rather add to it. Unfortunately it was almost inedible without the sauce. For the cost do yourself a favor and go to Asadero in Ballard or The Butchers Table in Seattle- it's the same cost if not cheaper for a much better meal. read more

Visited Rare Society for dinner over a weekend. The ambience is good and well decorated. However we could smell the smoke the whole time which was not something we preferred. We ordered the Ceasar Salad and Meatballs for appetizer. Ceasar Salad was our most favorite out of everything we ordered. The meatballs was good but small in portion size (4). For entrees we ordered the Pork Tomahawk and 40-day aged NY strip. The Pork Tomahawk was good with a strong flavor of some type of herb which was good. The Steak was not what we expected. It was burnt on the outside but cooked to desired temp on the inside. It was very difficult to cut through make it extremely difficult to finish the steak. Especially for the price, we expected more (in terms of service and food). Wanted a steakhouse up north for my birthday dinner. Rare Society did not disappoint! First of all, this restaurant is STUNNING. Beautifully decorated and slow clap to all the little details. Our server was top notch and so welcoming. They greeting me happy birthday right away along with a birthday card signed by the whole staff! TOP TIER service, people! Great place for a special occasion or even a great date spot. Definitely not on the cheap side but I say the price point is worth it for the quality and amount you receive. We had to try their infamous rolls for an appetizer. Must try! It's amazing and just melts in your mouth. We also got the ceasar salad to share. It was very yummy, could use a tad less parmesan cheese but it was still good. We also got the executive board to share. Plenty of food with leftovers for 4 people. The banana foster for dessert was one of the best banana fosters I've ever had. Highly recommend! Our experience along with the food was 10/10 for us. Give them a try. read more

I recently visited Rare Society Steakhouse for my birthday and had mixed feelings about the experience. We had an 8:30 pm reservation, checked in at 8:15, but weren't seated until 8:45. What stood out was that a couple who checked in about 10 minutes after us was seated right away, which was disappointing. Once seated, the ambiance was nice and we had a decent table. Our server was very friendly and helpful, though drink refills (Coke) were quite slow throughout the meal. For food, everything was good--but not exceptional for the price. * Appetizers: ahi, clams, and lamb chop. The lamb chop was excellent. * Main: I ordered the 22 oz ribeye ($91) expecting something unforgettable. It was good, but honestly no better than a $14.99 ribeye from Safeway. * Sides: asparagus was delicious, potatoes and carrots were just okay. * Dessert: the butter cake was fantastic, and I appreciated the birthday surprise--a scoop of ice cream with a candle, which was a very nice touch. Unfortunately, the experience really took a turn in the restroom--there was no toilet paper, the second stall was locked, and I had to use paper towels, which is unacceptable at a restaurant at this price point. All in all, we spent around $250, and for that amount, the experience didn't meet expectations. I've heard many good things about this place, so I'm open to giving it a second chance, but not at that price unless consistency and value improve. read more
