TL;DR: Immaculate attention to detail. High price point. Pumpkin Crisp now or die. Parking: Absolutely terrible but it's not their fault. There is this weird little strip along side the street that is two rows of parallel parking and then there is this tiny garage with a limited number of retail parking spots. May the odd ever be in your favor. Atmosphere: Very open dining area, the food seems much more upscale than the place itself, though the interior is still very modern and very cleanly. The floor is interesting: it seems to be comprised of large sand granules so it appears very porous. Lots of windows so the area is filled with natural light during the day. Service: EXCELLENT attention to detail. Before we stepped foot in the building, the table was already being set up for us, high chair, kid's dining sets and all because we were seen walking towards the entrance through the windows. We also observed another table's high chair from a previous party being meticulously wiped down and inspected by a server--this NEVER happens at restaurants to this level of detail. I was very impressed. I also appreciated the fact that the utensils included in the napkin consisted of: spoon, knife, fork AND chopsticks. It's rare to have a place offer you the full selection of utensils let alone a fork and chopsticks together--usually it's one or the other! Service: wait to be seated, you will be watered, scan the QR code at your table for the menu, order at the table, check brought to you. Kid Friendliness: plastic cups (open cups, no lids or straw) and bowls; disposable plastic utensils. Clean high chairs. Menu: item names, descriptions and some photos via digital menu with QR code scanned at your table. In case anyone is wondering, the coke served here is Mexican coke (the best kind). But it's strange no soft drinks are listed on their menu at all. Pumpkin Crisp: this is so addicting. It's like upscale bougie sweet potato fries. There is a gentle crisp of the salted egg that compliments the soft fluff of the pumpkin. I highly recommend it. Chicken Xiao Long Bao: They were sadly out of the pork when we went. Not as soupy as I was expecting it to be but each one is PACKED with meat, leaving little room for soup. It's not a baggy sack of meat, it's a meaty bag! Corn Rib: corn on the cob that has been cut into quarters lengthwise and covered with cheese (we requested non-spicy so we had a cheese option). A novel way to have corn cut and eaten this way for us. It was tasty nonetheless and not overly salty. Stir Fried Green Beans: your typical garlic salted plant noodles, haha. Not overly salty and is a great compliment to protein dishes. Cooked just right and not overly dry or chewy -- just the right amount of snappiness to each bite. Met some family here and we really enjoyed! There weren't many people here when we arrived on Sunday at lunch time! It's super cute and modern on the inside. There's not much meat on the bones but they give you so many pieces that it makes up for it. The best part of this dish for me was the rice mochi bits! So sweet and soft! Pretty mid experience at this place. There were some things that tasted good as appetizers but other than that most of the food was extremely unbalanced. Either the food was deep fried and covered in batter or it was way too sweet or salty. Do the price it really wasn't worth it. It's not something you can go in and eat often. Food takes a while to arrive and we also waited for a long time to get our check because the wait staff stopped coming over to check on us. It was not very busy for a Friday night but it is still new. Parking is limited around the restaurant. You may have to park farther and walk. They have a bar for cocktail lovers and ceremonial teas. A good variety to choose from. I would come back to try the tea flight for sure. The menu offers a great variety of Asian fusion. We ordered dishes in a family style to try as many different things as possible. My top favorites: Mushed eggplant: so delicious, garlicky, flavorful and soft texture of eggplant. I didn't expect to like it this much but I would definitely order it every time. Miso mushroom: my personal favorite! The mushrooms are in a lovely miso sauce. I was blown away by how good they tasted. The scallion pancake felt unnecessary. I would eat a whole bowl of just those mushrooms. Or maybe would prefer it with some kind of potato side such as creamy mashed potatoes. Dan Dan noodles: I love how this was served with each ingredient separately and sauce on the side. So satisfying to mix it all together. Pretty good portion and tasted lovely. Noodles are cooked well and are super long. Rice wine pudding: very soft texture with a sweet floral syrup on top. Fun to share and very enjoyable on the palate. I love the presentation of it too. Other dishes we tried: Beef tongue: thin slices with a spicy sauce. Not too soft or tough. I liked the texture. This was a hit and miss experience for us. The "good" was the miso mushroom appetizer that was savory and paired well with the scallion pancake, and the chicken xiao long bao and the spicy wontons were also flavorful. Our server was also great, we appreciated her taking care of us during dinner. The "okay" was my negroni cocktail that was prepared well but was not inexpensive at $21, and the dan dan noodles had good flavor but were spaghetti-like in texture. The "bad" was the popcorn chicken appetizer that was all breading, peppers, and peanuts, with little to no chicken. The short rib was too tomato heavy, it was basically pot roast. And the mapo tofu was just odd, cheese over very little tofu over tomato rice? The flavors clashed and didn't make sense. I went to Spring Bistro last night for the second time and it was some much better. I went once before and was generally disappointed. The bartender didn't know how to make a French 75, and instead of explaining and recommending something different he served me a very poor imitation. I had the crab fried rice and it was bland and very dry. Last night was just the opposite experience. I was joined with a friend and we ordered four of the tapas plates and I couldn't decide which was my favorite. We had the Ciger Shrimp, popcorn chicken, beef tongue and whole squid. We had popcorn chicken, kung pao chicken, and their soup du jour. The popcorn chicken was covered in spicy red peppers and was the most flavorless popcorn chicken I ever had. The Kung Pao chicken tasted like it came from the frozen meal isle of a supermarket. The soup was tomato with egg; it was unremarkable. None of the food tasted salted, nor did they have salt on the table. Do they have an actual kitchen, or just two microwaves? One of our forks came with a grain of rice between the twines. We ordered tea. It was fine. Service was very good. Ambience was wonderful. I wanted a good Chinese/fusion restaurant near me so badly, so I don't have to drive to Sodo. My friends and I came on a Saturday night, we had a reservation which I recommend as it was pretty busy. We were quickly seated and ordered our drinks and food. The food was all incredible. We loved the spicy wontons and xiao long bao. The braised ribs were also so good! I would absolutely come back and order everything we got because we loved it so much. The only problem we had was with slower service. It felt like we had to wave down the server several times. When given the soup dumplings they didn't bring the dipping sauce so we waited to eat them. No one checked on us for about 15 mins so when we asked for the sauce we also asked for fresh soup dumplings since those should be eaten hot. I will say, even though the service was slower/inattentive, it was VERY friendly. Everyone who worked there. The server and hostess etc were all so nice and we enjoyed talking with them all. This place has only been open for a few months. Randomly came across it while looking for places to eat. It's nicely decorated. I loved the bench seats. Server was extremely friendly and attentive. I felt bad for her because she was the only server in the entire restaurant and it was pretty busy. But, even though it was busy, she was going 100 miles an hour and never stopped moving. Service didn't suffer because she was busy, she was flying. I will say, my only comment is that none of our dishes came out hot. But I'm the kind of person that wants piping hot food that it burns my tongue. Overall the food was pretty darn good. They make their dumplings in house. We had pork and chicken dumplings. The pork was better than the chicken. My Dan Dan noodles were the softest freshest noodles ever. My husband had a beef dish with sautéd vegetables and he enjoyed that. Only comment would be the chemical storage area near the bathrooms, behind a shower curtain was a bit tacky looking and cheapens the aesthetic of the place.
