    Thai Milk Tea

Straight to the point, I've come here every now and then sometimes and was never disappointed with my drinks. Service is straight forward and the barista always makes it on time. Inside is pretty cozy as well.

I love coming to rare tea to get a drink. They're very quick with putting out orders and the quality is always great. I also love how they have a good snack menu. It's a pretty small boba shop but they have some indoor seating. They also have gachapon available with cute prizes! I recommend trying this place if you're near!

The service here is excellent, they are SOO kind to me and my kids. They have claw machines and delicious drinks and food, you can always find parking around the area. The ambiance is a nice hang out spot to chill with your friends and chat for a little. I usually just come order a drink or food and play their crane machines.

Happen to be in alameda and found this place. Good service here and they have claw machines to pay to play. There are some seatings inside. Ordered on kiosk. The kitchen is closed at 7. I got the Okinawa Pearl Milk Tea but more milky than tea flavor. The boba was good. Came out warm and chewy. Also tried the rose matcha latte but the ratio was off. It was very rose flavor heavy. Decent boba place if you are looking for good chewy boba but the drinks I got were ok.

I stopped by to order a drink and snack. I got the roasted oolong milk tea, 30 sugar no ice and sweet potato fries. You can get 20% off your first purchase if you order via Snackpass mobile app. The tea was only a little sweet which is how I intended, but I wish there was less milk since overall the tea flavor wasn't as strong as I'd like. The sweet potato fries came and were sweet but wish it was more spiced. I would also prefer it to be a little crispier. It came with ketchup. They have some small crane/grabber machine games. There is some outdoor seating at Alameda landing which is the plaza it's located in. It's not hard to get lot or street parking nearby.

Found a long hair in my drink today. I know mistakes happen, and I'm not trying to bash the place since I come here often, but I wanted to mention it because cleanliness matters. Hoping it's something that can be improved, as I'd love to keep supporting this business.

Honey milk tea & coffee milk tea (both with boba)

I sent hubby here to get us a few boba drinks. We ordered coffee milk tea and honey milk tea (both with boba). The drinks were mediocre. I couldn't taste the coffee in the coffee milk tea. There was no distinct tea flavor in the honey milk tea and the boba was too chewy and bland.

Date: 5/15/2024 Time: 3:40 PM 65° Sunny Leaving T-Mobile, I noticed Encinal High School was having a fundraiser at Rare Tea. My daughter attended Encinal (CO'97). Of course, I will support the cause. I can't count the numerous times I have walked by Rare Tea without ordering anything from them, always worrying the amount of sugar that is added to the teas, milk teas, smoothies, etc. Then I never knew they served yummy appetizers. Seeing the fundraiser, I stopped in for a tea. Thanks to the help of one of the employees and a representative from OKAPI, I uploaded an app to borrow and return a glass. Then I was able to order a beverage, 1/2 off on first older. So many choices of beverage, and they all sounded refreshing and delicious. Beverage: Peach tea, no sugar and boba. Price: $6.25 (plus 60¢ for boba). 50% discount, final price: $3.43. Tea was indeed refreshing. A return visit is a must for the appetizers and teas.

    Jasmine Green Milk Tea

Don't go there, you'll regret it. The milk tea doesn't taste like milk tea at all; it's just sugar and water. It's disgusting and a waste of my money.

I came in around 8:30, a few tables outside had people drinking their coffees and eating breakfast. When I walked in, only one guy was waiting for his order. There was only one person working. I understand she was the only one preparing coffee and food. I'm not trying to complain about the wait, but the lack of acknowledging a customer to say it will take some time. I finally ordered an iced latte. I do think they have some creative drinks, but I know they are usually too sweet and I just opt for a plain iced latte instead. It was an ok latte, nothing amazing. It's such a special place, with the beautiful china and lovely outdoor seating. I really enjoy seeing people dressed up when they come here. Afternoon tea is a special occasion and you should always dress the part! What I really appreciate is how kid friendly they are. My friend and I had no idea how our kiddos would do but they absolutely enjoyed it. The Wee Tea menu is perfect for them - a choice of herbal tea (the blue flower tea a was a fun pick) or a hot Milo (Malaysian hot chocolate, complete with whipped cream and sprinkles.) My son was in heaven...and the platter hadn't even come out yet. On to the food. I did find our last visit a bit lacking in the sandwiches. I'm still giving them five stars but since I have been dining here over the years, I could see a difference and the sandwiches were skimping on the filling. One of my sardine sandwiches barely had any sardines, just the sauce. But again, that wasn't the norm so I'll just take it as a one time thing. Now back to the kids' tea, in addition to their sandwiches (my son inhaled his Kaya toast) they had butterfly marshmallows and even cotton candy cones! It was adorable. I would definitely return with my little one, but be warned that your kiddos will be loaded with sugar afterwards. What a fun experience!

Usually there's a small line out the door and that has remained unchanged for this visit as well. They have a small space and tables for small parties both inside the cafe and along their front sidewalk. Their menu selection is wide, offering a variety of lattes, coffees, and teas, but also both pastries and small meals as well. It's no wonder why they're always popping around this time of day. Although I haven't tried many of their drinks, I can say that their matcha latte has been consistently good. Today I ordered one with almond milk and the matcha flavor is nicely balanced. Good ratio between matcha and milk. The matcha itself tastes pretty well rounded - not bitter, but also not too subtle in flavor. I probably got the matcha here like three times and it has not failed me yet. My partner really enjoys the Malasada but they can sell out pretty quickly. Previously I've tried their Ube Crinkle and their donuts and they were pretty good as well. This time, I wanted something a little less sweet and small so I tried the Bibingka which was great! I love mochi and the Bibingka had a mochi texture to it. It comes with some pineapple bits which I tend to avoid, but my desire to try something new overrode that today and thankfully, the bits were small. It's a dense little bite, but I enjoyed it! A perfect little bike treat. I don't get much interaction here with the workers since it's such a quick stop, but it's okay. I think depending on what time you go, it just gets really busy and employees are just trying to chug out the orders. We'll be back again for those delicious drinks and pastries though!
