Beyond excited that a delicious boba spot is conveniently located in the same location as our local sushi spot, Satori Sushi! Rare tea has a huge variety of different drinks ranging from Black teas. Milk teas plush smoothies and slushees. My favorite drink is the FRESH Taro drink of course with their smooth, chewy Pearl, bobas! If you order this drink you'll notice that it's not going to be its common lavender color. Instead it will come out more of a white/tan color because it's fresh taro root! It's soooo delicious I would highly recommend this and be sure to pair it with the Pearl boba! The drinks almost always come out perfect and for the cost it's a good price for the size. Be sure to save room for dessert after you come in for sushi! read more

I was really excited about this new location and overall the drinks are great and love that they offer unique cookies as dessert which the other locations don't seem to have. However, they don't have all the same menu items, like the Jade Milk tea or Classic Coffee, which is a bummer for my coffee-loving husband. I recently went in again after they officially opened and we got their matcha macadamia cookie and biscoff cookie. They're big and good! Unfortunately, this time, they were out of boba and the charge for plain iced tea seemed a bit high. My drink looked like more milk than tea for a teaspresso, but it still tasted decently enough of tea, so I can't complain there. I do hope they add to the menu as the owner mentioned previously that they were testing a coffee drink to add. read more

I was already a fan of RareTea before I even walked in the door of this newer location. Boba shops are very hit and miss, but RareTea has it down in terms of quality, service and selection, making it one of the best shops to get your sweets fix when in the area! This shop is clean and new and easy to access, plus it shares a space with a sushi restaurant so you can get the best of both worlds. I am not much of a sweet drink person myself so I usually get something that both my son and I will enjoy since it's all one size. My go-to is the brown sugar boba with fresh milk. Always sweet, creamy and delish! A special shout out to the friendly staff I encountered who made the experience that much more enjoyable. I had no idea what boba tea was or if I would even like it. My friend kept insisting I try it and she had a specific one in mind (her favorite) of course. She stumbled upon a new establishment in Natomas that sold boba tea. She convinced me and I tried boba for the first time. She ordered the Taro milk tea with boba light ice regular sugar. One word Yummy!!!! The taste is definitely something I haven't tried before but glad I was adventurous enough because now I am in love. The boba balls are slimy and sweet but delicious is the only way I can describe it. We came in for just the boba tea and then to our surprise the establishment is shared with a sushi restaurant. I'm definitely going back and trying their sushi since I absolutely love sushi so stay tuned. This place is also convenient very close to home which could be dangerous for me to pack on the calories, never seems to be a line and the staff are very friendly. I'm so confused how this place got 4.5 stars! We got 5 drinks and every single one tasted terrible. Got zero sugar peach tea and it still tasted like full sugar and fake tasting. Caramelized brown sugar boba... not sure what to say but not sure how you can mess up a non-caffeinated drink ..... they forgot to put brown sugar in it ... how can you mess this up?? And the Lychee milk tea was undrinkable. Tasted like lychee syrup mixed with watered down milk. Passion fruit green tea with aloe was disgusting. They filled the cup with half aloe and even though I asked for no sugar, the drink tasted like passion fruit concentrate. What the heck?? Very disappointed read more

I had to go to Raretea Natomas for their BOGO free on grand opening day! I decided to order the strawberry milk w/ pudding and boba, lychee matcha latte, Earl grey milk tea w/ pudding, snow cream, and boba, and a mango green tea with aiyu jelly! I was so excited to try all of their drinks! I thought the matcha latte was super unique as I've never heard of this drink being offered at any other boba shop! I wouldn't say it was my favorite out of all the drinks but it definitely tasted like it should, matcha and lychee. As for my strawberry milk w/ pudding and boba, I really liked the toppings and the drink all in one sip! I felt as if everything complimented each other! Raretea is known for their great tea tastes so it was a given that the Earl grey tea would taste this fresh The flavor was so strong and was absolutely delicious! They use their teaspresso machine right in front of you to brew the tea so you know it's fresh! I didn't get a chance to try the mango green tea but from what I heard, it was really refreshing! Now this specific location offers super thick 6 oz. cookies so we defined had to try them! We got the matcha macadamia, Biscoff butter cookie, and peanut butter chocolate! My absolute favorite was the Biscoff butter cookie! I tasted hints of snickerdoodle and sugar cookie plus the Biscoff butter in the center and their you go, the prefect cookie flavor! I will say that it was a little on the sweet side but when the flavor is that good it doesn't matter! My mom's favorite was the Matcha Macadamia which was less sweet, had a light matcha taste, and I think chocolate chips! For the peanut butter chocolate, it was at first my favorite, but then I tried the Biscoff butter! I would say that this cookie was a little drying then the other because the texture was a bit more crumbly but it could've been from the specific batch. I didn't taste chocolate so I was a bit disappointed by that but if you think of it as a peanut butter cookie thank this ones for you! All the cookies were so doughy and soft which made it even better! In the future Raretea has a plan to open a satori in the same shop so you can enjoy boba and sushi all in one sitting! They are the best place to go if you want that nice fresh tea taste! read more

I come here exclusively for the teaspresso! Their regular tea offerings aren't anything spectacular, but their teaspressos remind me so much of Orobae's in Irvine. Really good tea flavor without the astringency. I get them less sweet with organic milk. My fave is the Iron Goddess. One thing I did notice though is that if you order more than 1 teaspresso of the same flavor, it gets more and more watered down. I am not sure why that's the case. No comment on the boba - very standard. I'm also not a boba fan and am very particular about how soft and chewy it should be so I tend to skip boba at most places. Service is good. They're polite and relatively quick. There is no sitting area - only a waiting area FYI. So it's mostly a to-go teashop. read more

I love RareTea. I have tried the Elk Grove and the DOCO franchise. But this franchise always disappoint me. I only get the signature snow cream tea or the oreo milk tea with the snow cream. Oreo milk tea with snow cream- I ordered for delivery, they didn't add the snow cream which I paid for. 2nd time I got this I was in the store and they forgot it again and I had to point it out which they fixed right away. SIgnature Snow Cream Tea I tried it atleast 3-4 times here now. And for some reason it doesn't taste good, its watered down or something, the tea taste is barely there. What a shame. Whoever franchised this store needs to train the staff better. My drink was 30% tea and 70% ice. Not only did staff not use all of the brewed tea, but also left the foam in the tea (from shaking it) which I have not seen other staff do before. Every time I ordered this they always just stirred the tea instead of shaking it. read more

I work in the area and noticed this place when I picked up pizza next door a few weeks ago. I don't think it was open at the time but the beautiful tables and lights caught my eyes. This place is where the old Sushi King was. The other, my coworker and I decided to check it out since I heard it was open. Unfortunately when we went on 8/19, the sushi part of the restaurant wasn't open yet ;( but we did try to bobas. I have had RareTea at other stores and this place is just as good. Beautiful decors. RareTea to me is like Ted Moseby and the red cowboy boots - PULLING THEM OFF! Yes, I know Natomas doesn't neeeeed another boba shop, but RareTea stands out for many reasons. This is a great, clean space that shares with a Japanese sushi side, so they greet you right away to seat you or point you towards the RareTea counter to order your drink. So many options, so many customizations which I truly appreciate since my taste buds have changed and I don't enjoy overly sweet anything anymore (except ice cream, there's always room for ice cream (and jello)). They take your customizations to heart, so go crazy on the ice level, sweetness level (YUUUUGE NOTE HERE! Be careful on what level sweetness you ask for, as their teas can be pretty bitter once you get below the 75% sweetness range), and of course the toppings. You want boba? Boom! You want pudding or red bean? Boom! You want ice cream? Yes sir! (although I have not tried that yet). My mom has had boba only a few times in her life, and she took down her strawberry milk tea down quickly, just like my son who I really have to watch drink, otherwise it's gone in like 2 minutes! I actually really like their drinks, especially the tea-presso. The tea-presso involves using essentially something akin to an espresso machine to brew tea on the spot. The tea comes out much stronger and flavorful. Unfortunately, about 75% of the time that I order it, they don't even use the tea-presso machine that's right next to the register and just make a regular milk tea, which is technically not what I ordered... read more

The place is nice and clean, staff were quick and friendly. I ordered the Okinawa with brown sugar which I would say is a 7/10 just basic milk tea. The caramelizad brown sugar taste like just plain milk with boba. The roasted oolong tasted like seaweed, would definitely not get it again. The Taro smoothie with pudding was my favorite, the best taro Ive ever had 10/10. The mango smoothie was also exceptional 10/10. It is such a treasure to have a boba shop in this neighborhood. It is clean and cute inside. The staff are friendly and the service is fast. I've made it a point to try the many different flavored drinks, and some are better than others (the fruit jams they use are a little weird, but their milk teas are on point).
