Bellevue needed Rascals! It feels like a modern pub with elevated food. We stopped by in happy hour and the deals were fantastic. I loved the elote ribs and the chicken & fries, which came with 2 drumsticks and fries. The starter caesar was a nice size. Ask for the chicken with a side of buffalo sauce! I think this is one of the best happy hours in Bellevue, so definitely stop by and give them a try!

What a great oasis in the concrete jungle of Bellevue. You enter through an inconspicuous door on the side of the building near where Purple was located. This Sasquatch hideaway has an almost tropical feel. As you walk down the steps you leave the hustle and bustle of outside and enter a new world. They have a great bar, a good selection of beer and the food is truly unique. Somewhat of a Southern fusion. I was there for lunch and had a sort of chicken club with literally the best French fries ever. They were crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside and seasoned just right. My sandwich was delicious. I would really give this place a try. Great for happy hour too!

New Bellevue spot! Just around the corner from the old Purple on NE 4th... we loved the vibe as we entered and descended down the stairs. Nice ambience with wood paneled walls and greenery, with a "living room" in the center. Nice TVs throughout for sports watching if desired. The cocktails were well crafted and food very solid. We enjoyed the Buffalo chicken dip (Yum) and Philly Cheesesteak, which was outstanding. Rascals is new and I hope they stick... it was VERY empty on Saturday night - they need to get the word out! PSA to owner who controls the music but wasn't on site - the oldies playlist was NOT the vibe... doesn't match the ambience or Bellevue scene. Here's hoping for better tunes when we return.

    Pork nachos with Beecher cheese

I Stopped by for a team lunch and the place was empty on a Friday. It's a huge space where you walk downstairs into the restaurant. Service was great and they had no problems splitting the check 7 ways. All the food was great, except for the 6 cheese mac and cheese. It was more cheese then pasta. The pork nachos had, what we thought was Nacho cheese, was more like Beecher cheese. If your like then this is your place, I just wasn't a fan. I can say the Rascal bird AKA turkey club was delicious as was the burger and turkey sandwich. The fries and especially the jojos were amazing! Their happy hour looked pretty good too, so I'll be back to try that sometime.

    Awesome wings at Rascal's

I tend to only sporadically review business. But I just got done with a late lunch at Rascal's Public House. It's a really cool venue with great staff and excellent food. Don't sleep on the wings. I got mine extra crispy with sauce on the side and it reminded me of really fantastic southern fried chicken. The tri-tip cheesesteak was also excellent, and the fries were perfect. One would think that fries would be easy, but I've had plenty that were just meh. Rascal's fries are amazing. Lastly, the beer was really good as well. I had the Rascal's Lager. Just hoppy enough to be tasty without being overwhelming. Anyway, Rascal's is a brand-new place and they're really starting off right, it seems to me. Great place!

This small building can be easily missed if you don't take the time to step inside and see what it's all about. It's got a fireplace and a couple tables inside, but my partner always stops off here for the whiskey. Personally I don't drink much whiskey, but he gets excited by the selection and the helpful people behind the counter. They can help you find something in your price range. You can also get a flight. They have special Whiskey Talk nights and tasting events. You can get also get other drinks and even order food to eat inside. I usually get the Black Rabbit Red wine, but there are a couple beers on tap. Of course this is also a stop for a passport stamp. If it's cold and not too loud we do occasionally sit inside. It has a quaint, cramped vibe so you may get to know your neighbors. If the weather is good we often sit outside by one of the many fires. Sometimes there is live music playing in the courtyard and this makes for a great way to spend an evening. But if you don't know you can also get your drinks to go and walk around exploring the grounds, just be aware you are not supposed to cross the street with your drinks to the pool/Nui Nui bar.

So many great whiskeys to choose from but they don't have a full list so you have to either choose from the small curated menu or stand awkwardly at the bar looking at the shelf in a tiny (usually over crowded) space. Bartenders have always been friendly and attentive in my experience.

The entire team works so flawlessly together. The food. We started with the bread service which was $12. Honestly, Id pass on this. Its nothing special. Second was the roasted bone marrow - Again, pass. At $28 there wasn't much marrow. I mean, it was good, don't get me wrong! But I wouldn't order it again. Ahi Tartare - Very good dish with a lot of flavor! My Ribeye was incredible! My husband got the same thing and he too was over the moon. We ended with the Bananas Foster. Any time a place makes Bananas Foster tableside, you know its going to be amazing, and this was! It's fun to watch them prepare it, and even more fun to enjoy it. We will definitely be back. We are eyeing a few different apps and that Wagyu Beef "Long bone" Rib Eye for two for next time! Also, this is a great spot to use your Amex Resy Credit. Parking is in the garage below the restaurant, and they will validate.

This last dinner we had was very disappointing and surprisingly so unlike John Howie it used to be. We went for our anniversary/birthday and we brought an out of town guest with us. We ordered: Ceasar salad A bottle of Big Farm Wine Tartare Brussel sprouts Lobster mashed potato 2 order ribeye cap Long bone ribeye 2 filet mignon Few things: Our server didn't even ask oh, are we celebrating anything today, like any other restaurant Secondly, we asked for medium rare to close to medium. Our Long bone came out well done. The manager was about to serve that to us. Until we said, um...that's not medium rare or medium. You worked at steakhouse, and you should know what medium rare look like. The rest of the steaks were more medium than medium rare, but we were hungry already. With the leftover, the server put in on the floor?? It's food, the carpet is dirty and they've stepped on by many ppl from wherever they came from. We moved it to the table, and they moved it again to the floor. That drove all of us crazy. Other side notes: We noticed, they don't clean up the crumbs etc in between from the table anymore. And we saw when they cleaned up other tables, they just sweeped them to the floor, we saw old napkins on the floor when new guests arrived. We do not expect these from John Howie Steakhouse, and especially when you paid $1000 in one sitting. Btw, we told the manager about not putting leftover food on the floor. Our server chased us on the way out and asked if she did something wrong. She was surprised that the leftover food is not supposed to be on the ground. Ps: got no complimentary bday or anniversary deserts. They said no. But i saw 2 other tables got things not from desserts menu with candle on it. Interesting.
