Geo and Robbie were incredibly kind from the moment I walked in. I loved the vibe from just entering, it felt like an arcade meets someone's bedroom cozy ambience. The back area had a cute fish tank with two little fishies in a tv with an Easter island head in it. I loved the selection of records. This place is perfect for manga lovers too They had bean bag chairs in the back and tons of manga and gambit video games. So much nostalgia in such a cool shop. Perfect place to hang and kill time and find something special for a gift of for yourself.

Are you a gamer? How about a musician? Well, then you've come to the right place! I stopped by Rat nest in Chino by recommendation from a friend and I was NOT disappointed. I mean, what a treasure of old school games and underground music. Here's some of the things I liked about Rat Nest: Design: doesn't look like much from outside, but once you walk in, you're in for a treat! The store is decorated in gaming memorabilia from the 90s and 2000s that will make you feel like you've died and gone to nerd heaven. They've also got some great selections of arcade style games against the wall (even one of those claw machines) Quality: since the owner (Robbie) is a major nerd, he's no stranger to video games and the quality of his assortment is of a high standard. What's more, he's got a collection of records, t shirts and artwork on display! Service: I had a nice conversation with Robbie during my visit and he couldn't have been more polite. He even explained (in great detail) the story behind one of his favorite games 'Silent Hill. Extra perk: Of all the amazing things I loved about this place, I'd say the coolest part about this store is that it's also a venue for live music. So, if you're in the area (or even if you feel like taking a trip) it's definitely worth visiting. All-in-all I give this place a solid 5 star review. I hope to play here with my band soon! Big love!

Great store in Chino with amazing staff and service. I came in to get my GameBoy Pokemon cartridge battery replace because it was not saving and ended up with a couple of extra items. They have a lot of niche and hard to find items like Typing of the Dead or Japanese retro games. Very few retro game stores collect Japanese language items but Rat's Nest does. Definitely will be back again!

Rat Nest is one of the best shops in the IE! If you're a fan of video games (retro/modern), anime/manga, music (vinyl/CDs, tapes), merch or collectibles, this is your spot. There are also multiple arcade cabinets to try out and spend all your quarters on (fighting games, shoot-em-ups, platformers, rhythm games, you name it). Robbie the owner has really created a store that is welcoming and gives off a total sense of community. Everything is priced fairly, the staff is helpful/nice and the vibe is super chill. Rat Nest truly is a location that caters to the nerd in all of us while being super accepting of everyone. If you haven't visited before, please give this place a shot. You won't regret it!

This place rocks!!! Never felt more at home in a space like this, if I had more time and lived in the area I'd never want to leave Nice selection of arcade cabinets to play, plenty of games, media and collectibles to peruse and immaculate vibes. Walked away with a few VHS tapes and a smile :)

If you like old metal music, vinyl discs, power rangers, anime DVDs, classic NES, Famicon, Super Famicon, GameBoy console, and games, then this is the place for you. It is a fairly small shop. It's cute and the owner greeted me as I walked in. I didn't buy anything but I did check out a lot stuffs. It's rare to see a shop in this genre in this area. I totally support it. Check it out when you get a chance. I wish he has a bigger selection, and I will return soon to do a re-review once he has expanded it.

Super cool music and more shop. From classic arcade games, vintage video games, anime collectibles, records, cassettes, clothes, art and more...Rat's Nest is a great shop. It's a small, humble little shop but it has heart and GREAT finds. Just picked up a 30th anniversary Paul's Boutique with limited color vinyl record for my son (who is a big fan of the store due to it having the metal/music he usually listens to). The owner is a really nice guy and easy to talk to and makes the shop feel a lot like a home away from home with his store layout, store events, and easy going and friendly demeanor.

This place just opened in November. I just want to say that this is a amazing place to go for video games, music/ Vinyls, anime, movies, and si much more. This is a place where you dream of when you are young or when you live in your 80s where you dream of having all the things you which are your own home, but at this store. I highly recommend this place to anyone. The dude that owns it is really chill and nice. Really respectful to all. Worked his butt off to make his dream into a reality and it is awesome to see him achieve it. Help this guy out. Spread the word. So that way more people can come visit his store and buy some amazing stuff for the fraction of the price.

My friends and I come here sometimes to look around and take in the vibes, the store goes super hard. The owner is cool and the aesthetics are so cute. We live pretty far but it's worth the trip just to come.

I'm rather new to comic collecting and I've been trying to keep my collection growing, but because I'm new to the hobby I don't always know how things work so I try to ask questions to the workers at the stores I visit. The store has one person who is honestly kind of rude. He is an older bald white guy. I've interacted with him a few times in the past briefly but I always felt he was kinda short and rude with me in comparison to how he interacts with other guests . I thought maybe I am overthinking the interaction so I always just let it slide and kept coming back. I told my partner briefly about this and he even agreed that maybe it could be me over thinking. I went in with my partner and this time I asked a question to the cashier about comic releases and the rude guy interjected and made condescending comments about me not knowing how releases work and overall made me feel really stupid. His whole energy just makes me feel like I'm not welcome and that I'm less than because I'm new to the comic hobby. When we left the store my partner immediately was like "is that the guy that is always rude to you?" I don't think I will come back to this store again because of how rude and unprofessional that guy is. He just really lacks customer service skills.
