Excellent Tapas with a Peruvian accent - chef and co owner Javier Uriarte and his fiancé Maddie Pickerell, also an accomplished restauranteur have a great thing going in the Northeast of Columbia, which had needed an interesting and well run neighborhood bistro since the unfortunate closing of Solstice. An absolutely amazing restaurant! The food was absolutely phenomenal. I had the Tempura Squash and the Tacos del Pollo. The flavors were fresh and bright, everything complimented each other perfectly. For dessert I had the Flourless Chocolate Cake. It had a smooth texture but was not overly rich which I appreciated. Walking away one feels satisfied and full without feeling heavy. The service was also good. There was not a long wait for each dish and everyone was friendly and willing to explain the food. The only thing to keep in mind would be that it is on the higher end with price. However, if that is not a factor for you I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Chicanos Tacos Ann Tequila has better Taco's, Ratio has a nice atmosphere but is lacking on personality, people are a bit snobbish and unfortunately not polite! Over priced for what you receive! read more

We just moved from VA my colleagues recommended to dine here. It was a nice ambiance and decorations. Unfortunately their food is very bland. We ordered almost everything in the menu for a party of 8. The only ones we recommend is cerviche and hibiscus pear salad. The rest are tasteless and bland. Luckily their prices are affordable. Went on a tapas date here and my date and I both left with nothing but positive vibes. We did make a reservation as I was told it can get pretty packed on the weekends, so in our case, we got seated pretty quickly. The staff that provided our service was kind and informative of the menu, only thing I remember was the frequency of the check ins. I think after she delivered our meals, she's checked in about twice, which could be due to staff shortage that night? Other wise the food, atmosphere, and customer service was spot on! I've attached some of the tapas we ordered, this place quite had the selection. The pork on the bun was one of our favorite ones, so we ended up ordering that twice. As for desserts, we couldn't decide on what to order since the menu looked amazing so we ended up just getting three; all of which tied for first place on our palates. I am so happy that we have a wonderful eclectic dining experience nearby. It is definitely a fusion of Peru and modern flavors, tapas restaurant. For my appetizer I had the ceviche, for me and my palate it was too salty. (I've reduced my intake of salt since April of this year). For my second I had the empanadas. These I would order again. The flavors bursting the ahi sauce was palate pleasing. For my main course I had the shrimp and grits which was very good. For dessert I had the crema Catalan, I think creme brulee. All in all it is a wonderful restaurant. They have dine in and they have outdoor dining, recommend making reservations or arriving early for lunch or dinner. read more

This restaurant is definitely not located in the area I initially expected- right off the highway and proximal to a Bojangles, a Taco Bell, and a Dollar General. The things that I ordered that were simply ok were the Miso Tasty Mocktail, which had a bit of a soapy flavor, and the beef tartare, which didn't have a ton of flavor at all. The stars of the show; however, were the Milk and Honey mocktail, the seco de carne, yellow fin tuna ceviche, and tempura squash. The orgeat took the Milk and Honey mocktail to the moon! The first sip yielded one of the most interesting flavor combinations I'd had in a while, especially in a mocktail, because some places phone them in. The bar industry is moving toward featuring more non-alcoholic choices, and I appreciate that trend. The seco de carne captured all of the unctuousness of an American pot roast with vegetables in a few bites. The ceviches I've seen in the past have been swimming in liquid, but it was incredible how much flavor was in the yellow fin tuna dish without a bunch of "stuff" in and around it. The tempura squash was like the perfect French fry- best enjoyed while piping hot. The beauty of tapas is that everything doesn't have to be your favorite, but the deft with which those items were prepared really blew me out of the water. read more

If you're thinking about trying Ratio, you need to just go. Every item on the menu is absolute perfection. All of the dishes are creatively and thoughtfully planned to showcase the flavors of each ingredient. I love the small plate/tappas style because I had the opportunity to try a wide variety from the menu. Pisco cocktails are amazing. Don't be afraid to try something new. Impeccable service. We love the food here, and the pisco selection is something you can't find anywhere close, a nice touch. Service still needs some work, perhaps more so the kitchen, as items take quite a while to come out, which is tough when you're dealing with the small sizes of tapas. My husband and i went to Ratio with no expectations. Some friends of ours had suggested it and said they had good food and fun mixed drinks. We were not disappointed. Every bite of our food was terrific with loads of flavor. (i feel like i'm a hard critic) I got a mixed drink and it was very nicely mixed. Oh, and i almost forgot...i got a side salad and Ratio uses this whipped feta cheese that is so yummy. If you haven't visited Ratio then you are missing out. Came here for my birthday 11/25. And everything was amazing! Service was great! The spicy grapefruit tequila drink was perrrfect, and my husband said his old fashioned/Classico was absolutely delish. We tried many, many dishes, and I have to say the prettiest dishes were the scallops and the beet salad. (PS I just turned 32, and this dish literally changed my mind on beets. I have always hated them, but this dish was so fresh and amazing, I'm now a fan of beets.) My three favorite tasting dishes were the Brussel sprouts (I ordered two), tempura zucchini, and the empanadas. The sauce and the pickled onions on the empanadas were simply perfect. I went to try. Love the ambiance. Was not a fan of the Fish Ceviche, was pure lime juice. That is all you tasted. Two leaves of Cilantro to balance it out was not enough. Also, there was nothing to balance the 2 'crisp' they gave you. In a traditional on, you provide some avocado and tomatoes. For the price I don't want perfectly good tuna to taste like drinking lime juice. Need some flavor balance, like add a little sugar and olive oil. read more

We didn't love it, partly because we wanted to eat outside--they have a nice patio, but it faces on a very busy road and the landscaping you can see is far from lovely. We moved inside because of a noisy crowd out there, and that was nice enough. The food was not special--my seafood stew was too salty and the ribs had basically no meat. The fried yucca dip was very good, and wish I'd tried the flight of pisco instead of a sweet cocktail. Very nice servers, and not much of a way for food or drinks. read more
