Beautiful, clean restaurant with great service, but unfortunately the food was mediocre at best. Fried Green Tomatoes -- 2/10: Over-fried and overly seasoned. Crawfish/Shrimp Bisque -- 0/10: Way too thin, lacked depth, and tasted like broth. Shrimp Roll -- 5/10: Good concept, but the sauce overpowered everything. The fries had an off putting taste also. Bread Pudding -- 8/10: Delicious and definitely the highlight! Overall: Great atmosphere and service, but the food needs some work. If you think small-town restaurants can't surprise you, this place will prove you wrong. A friend and I chose it because it's exactly halfway between us for weekend meetups. In a small town, I usually expect decent food at best--something reheated off a Sysco truck. Instead, this place completely surprised us. The food was outstanding. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We were told the food is prepared fresh daily and the menu can change, which explains a lot. Portions are huge--we actually ended up sharing plates just so we could try more items. Service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and helpful without hovering. The staff was happy to talk about what they've tried on the menu and what they recommend. There's limited outdoor seating, but if the weather cooperates I definitely recommend grabbing a table outside. From what we saw, the inside looked very clean and well kept. This has officially become our new weekend meetup spot. We're already going back this Saturday, and I plan to keep trying something new until I've worked my way through the whole menu. One last thing that meant a lot to me: they allowed me to bring in my sugar-free root beer. Since that's the only beverage I drink, that little bit of flexibility made the experience even better. The service and ambiance are always exceptional. Every time I walk in, I feel like I'm at home -- comfortable, relaxed, and surrounded by a cool vibe (which says a lot, because I love my home!). Yet somehow, I'm also enjoying an elegant dinner that I didn't have to cook myself. The drinks are reasonably priced, and so is the food -- especially considering each dish is truly a work of art. You can absolutely tell this restaurant loves what they do, and they do it beautifully every single time I've been here. It may not be for everyone, particularly if you're used to heavily processed fast food at "fast food" prices -- which, honestly, aren't much cheaper these days. The difference here is that the meals are thoughtfully prepared, healthier, more filling, and far more delicious. Last minute dinner turned into a wonderful experience. We've been here before but each time we come there is a special and it never ceases to amaze me. We' got the pappardelle pasta with hazelnut pesto and ruby red shrimp. It was delicious and a generous portion. We also got the hamburger steak that never fails, it's always so tender and flavorful. You can tell they take pride in quality ingredients therefore prices reflect that but worth every penny!Always a good experience here with great service. read more

I went on the weekend for breakfast. I drove over half an hour to go to one of my favorite restaurants but, i was extremely disappointed. The restaurant interior was ok. They seem to like locations that are on the National Registry of Historic Places. The plates on the table had debris on them and the silverware was questionable. The service was decent. I had a breakfast bowl with brisket in it . I was disappointed. Last time i ordered it it was delicious but this time it was lacking. The brisket was burnt and half of the meat was fat. The potatoes were under salted. The "professional chefs" can't make an over easy egg without burning it. they also burnt multiple pieces of toast. The Bananas Foster french toast was good but it looked disgusting. It seems like the chefs are constantly experimenting in the kitchen. I've given them two stars because they have been good in the past and i want them to be better. read more

My wife and I went for the first time on a Saturday evening with a group of friends. I had the crispy catfish, which was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It came with grits and collard greens. The grits were awesome. My wife had the shrimp and grits. She said they were some of the best she had ever had, and that is something coming from someone from the low country of South Carolina. The restaurant had live entertainment from a band named "Generation", which was great and not so loud that you could have a conversation if you desired. The staff were friendly and attentive, but they were very busy that evening. What a great experience! We'll definitely be back. read more

Staff is great the food on the other hand could be better. The dish I decided to eat had to much cumin and was off putting. This was our third time there hopping it would improve. We had our 40th class reunion here on 10/25/2025. The service was excellent but there was a lot of drinking and several people were drunk enough to need someone to drive them home. The food was a bit pricey for me, so I got the Caesar salad. It was the worst salad I've ever had! It tasted plastic, and the so-called cheese that was on the top was hard and I had trouble chewing it. I was quite disappointed. I've had Caesar salads many times at many different restaurants, and this was the worst by far. I would never have gone there if it wasn't for the reunion. I won't be going back. read more

First time in and it was INCREDIBLE in every way! A really cool small town vibe with great food and great service. Alyssa was our server. She was super sweet and very professional. She handled an unpleasant customer next to us with grace, yet still maintained the rest of her tables perfectly. Jason was at the bar and he made each of us the best old fashioned in recent memory. I've only been to the Somerville location twice. Neither time impressed me. Sat at the bar both times. Bar tender paid attention to the people he knew. But the kicker was he poured a glass of wine- then I guess decided he poured too much, so he poured some back into the bottle, right from the glass. Then served it to a customer. The food is over the top- with too much stuff on top of what might be good food, but they seem to throw everything on it. read more
