We had two great experiences here over a weekend in February. Really, really good ones. In a town where pub and saloon style joints reign supreme (I like both, but also like a break), Raven Cafe is a fantastic departure. First, we came at nite when there was a band playing in the corner. Decent music and good beer/vino selection. Also comfy seating at the bar (the stools have backs on them which many bars lack)!! Nice staff as well. The next day we were struggling to pick a place to eat at for our mighty group of four and I mentioned that the menu at Raven looked good when I looked through it the nite before. And I found out that it tastes every bit as good as it looks! All of our food was anywhere from really good to excellent! The food and the vibe reminds me a lot of places you find in Los Angeles- very healthy oriented, chill, home-made/whole food/organic-type ingredients. Salads were great, the wings were actually fantastic! I couldn't stop stealing them from the person in our group that ordered them. Dressing and chicken on salad were also great. Sandwiches went over well in the group as well. If you are looking for a slightly more refined yet chill place in Prescott with healthier and/or fresher ingredients than some of the Raven's competitors, THIS is the place to come. Also, the prices are really good for the quality of what you get and no more than any other restaurants in the downtown. Went on a date, heard amazing things did not taste amazing. It was awful and over priced. We tried hot wings with blue cheese and were happy to see that the sauces were made in house. The blue cheese was watered down and literally the consitancy of water with a few crumbs of blue cheese. The hot sauce was basic and bbq sauce was sour and tasted rancid. Awesome spot! I showed up on a Tuesday and they had an acoustic band, a great crowd and friendly staff behind the bar. I sat at the bar (solo traveler) ordered the fried avocado (delicious) and an oak creek brown ale. Everyone was so welcoming and I had a great time. Definitely recommend. read more

Most restaurants are inconsistent in Prescott but we have found the Raven to be reliable with good fare. It has nice light, open atmosphere and is a pleasant place to dine. One of the worse burgers I ever had. I requested a medium burger and I got a overcooked well done burger on burned challah bread. It was the first time I had to eat a burger with a fork and knife. Arrived at 10:50, asked to order lunch, lunch menu starts at 11am, the manager took our orders and said that it would take a few minutes to change over from breakfast to lunch. 45 minutes later as we watched 6 or 7 meals come out of the kitchen and be delivered to people that ordered well after we did I approached counter and asked manager when we would be served, she stated "I told you we have to switch from brekfast to lunch", I asked how the other customers were being served and we had not yet, she said that it should be out soon, 10 more minutes later we finally got our lunches. Yesterday I stopped in to the Raven Cafe, after a recommendation from a friend. It was a little difficult to figure out where the menu was, and what was on it. Once that was done, we ordered. The cashier had good advice on dishes. The quiche was amazing. I had ham and broccoli and my friend bacon and onion. I also loved their fries. We had a half and half order. Half sweet potato fries with roasted red pepper dipping sauce and regular fries with paprika. They get a lot of products from local farms and suppliers. That made me feel great. So delicious! Next time I'm shopping in Prescott, this is sure to be my lunch or brunch stop. read more

To be honest not even worth one star. Been to Presscott twice. first time a few weeks ago we didnt have a chance to look around. so Saturday we took the motor cycle for a spin. Great ride to Presscott from north scottsdale. Pulled on to cortez and saw the Raven Cafe. Wife is into "healthy Food" so we saw the "Organic " sign and thought we would try it . went in side the building is amazing, love the history. We ordered the food, Wife got a Hamburger and cold slaw i got one of their deserts of the day. We sit waiting for the order and the wife goes back up and orders a nacho chips and salsa and avacado for her hamburger. they bring the hamburger, but they are out of the advertised desert i ordered. so i select the second one. wife begins eating her hamburger and they return and say they are out of the second desert. so i order a third, wow they had that one.... so all this time we are waiting for the avacado... hmmmm... never showed up... wife went to the counter and they said they forgot to process the order. It should be noted they didnt give a rip about customer service. so wife has eaten 2/3 of her hamburger and they show up with the nachos and the avacado. wife feels the need for some coffee so she again orders . the guy taking the order didnt even know how to make the coffe.... we sit again for 20 minutes and no coffee. wife goes back to se what happened and they didnt make the coffee.. Im amazed at the crap service.... Presscott is dependent on tourist money. There really isnt much else up there. You would think they would be working hard to keep people comming back but over all the food was JUST OK... and the service was frustraiting. we spent $60 there on what we had and the agrivation left us very sorry we had eaten there. the staff there just dont care.... i would look around a littel more next time .... not a good experience. ... read more

Had THE most enjoyable client meeting at the Raven Cafe last Thursday. While always a fun place for hanging out, that night was especially fabulous as staff members Rosemary, Alex, Jack and Rachael went out of their way to serve us quickly and with generous smiles from fixing the wobbly table to finding our favorite wine to keeping our food and wine flowing. Okay, so me and the fam are new to the area and we are trying out different restaurants. Obviously we go off of reviews and we check out the menu to see if it's to our liking. Yesterday we decided to try this place. I loved the atmosphere and especially the idea of the upstairs balcony that they had outside. You have to order at the bar, which is kind of dumb. Normally you want to sit down and decide what you want when you're at a restaurant, just felt way too much like a bar scene rather than a cafe or restaurant. We decided it would be nice to sit outside. Once we went upstairs... My opinion changed, drastically! The lady behind the bar, who was taking the orders seemed as though I was bothering her. She took our orders. She pored me the tiniest bit of wine, so small that I wouldn't even get another glass. I paid $8 for a glass of wine, which is fine, if it's worth it! I wouldn't waste another $8 on a glass, I felt it was a rip off. Anyways... We sat down, at a very uncomfortable table. The tables are way too high for the seats they have. Our poor kids could barely reach the table. If you want water or ice tea you have to go serve yourself. Which, at first I thought was a cool idea, until the tea and water were so warm I couldn't even drink it! I mean... Where's the ice people?! It was a warm day... Would've been nice to have a cold ice water. So, our food came out pretty quickly, and honestly it's the only reason this place is getting 3 stars. The food was fantastic, so kudos to the chef!!! But that is all that I liked about this place. The guy serving the food was extremely busy, he was nice, but he never came back to check on us. We had to flag him down just to get some boxes. And when he did bring them they were tiny, and said that was all he had upstairs, and look at us like, sorry, I'm not going back down to get you bigger ones! So we took those cause we were so disappointed with the service we just wanted to leave! I would consider returning because I did like the food, but I would probably just go with adults and sit at the bar for some food and drinks. Definitely not a place to take a large party, as the largest table they had was for a party of 4. And I could tell the kids were exactly happy with the too big tables and the warm water. Also- note to the owner. I insure very high end restaurants, and have for years. I've seen many places succeed, and many places fail. You have a great concept, great atmosphere, wonderful food, but the items mentioned above are going to cause your customers to not return! The customer service at restaurants are huge, and this place is just not a good example of good customer service. read more
