The wait staff was SUPER friendly and had fantastic recommendations for what to get. I had the blackened squash salad and oh my goodness was it delicious. I'm a veggie type of person and this bowl full of all things healthy was absolutely perfect. Not to mention the view from the rooftop bar! Hubby and I snuck in as the last people to order breakfast before they cut off the line. We got the beet salad and two dirty chais. Everything was fresh and delicious! The chais were a bit sweeter than I expected, but still good. The beat salad is a decent serving of mixed greens with a beet pesto on the side and a serving of pickled beets. Okay, some people are turned off because you have to order at the counter. I say you have to get past that. They bring the food to your table. If you want local, fresh food, this is one of the best places in town to get it. The most consistent breakfast we have found, always good. And how do they make those potatoes!!! Also believe it's one of the best cups of coffees in town. And it is low key, never any pressure to leave so you can enjoy that second cup. Our go to breakfast almost every weekend. read more

Beer is pricey too but the happy hour brings it into a decent price range. When it's busy, sometimes it takes a while of waiting in line just to place an order. The food was good, but the service was HORRIBLE! We waited about 15 min to place our order because there was not enough staff. The area was crowded and I'm sure the people sitting in the tables next to the line were not pleased. The iced tea and water both ran out in the self-service area. I waited again to advise the person behind the counter. She sighed and said "well, we're busy". Nothing was cleaned or replenished on the self-service counter for our entire stay. The tables and chairs are very close together. Without help from several customers, it would have been impossible to move the high chair to our table. One employee saw me trying to manuver and just walked away. He left the chairs pulled out from the table he was cleaning and didn't even offier to help. Very frustrating! read more

Our organization makes a monthly trip to Prescott for business and our reward is lunch at the Raven. The food is amazing with addictive sweet potato fries. The staff is friendly and terrific. The Raven has high-quality, organic food at affordable prices. Salads are great. Their beer and wine selection is extensive, espresso is good, and the decor and live entertainment are great. Because it is the only venue of its ilk in town, it tends to be very crowded on weekends and in the evenings. It's loud and usually difficult to find a table. The tables are close together and cramped. I tend to go at off-hours and during the summer, when the rooftop is open. Because it is a local watering hole, expect everyone to stare at you as you walk in the door. Very uncomfortable if you are an introvert. It would be great if they added another entrance, or if they bought the antique shop next door and expanded. When it's busy, food sometimes takes up to an hour to arrive and meals ordered at the same time can arrive at very different times, which is rather awkward. WOW! I am not sure really where to begin. The rude indifference behind the counter was worth the 35 minute wait to observe. Its almost like the cast of characters behind the counter were hired specifically to ensure this would be your first and last visit simultaneously. Once my table tent and my five drinks were handed to me to carry to my table(after two trips) I had to return to the bar with all the dirty plates that were on my table in the blazing sun upstairs. After an hour plus wait for my food, the anticipation was getting the better of me. I went downstairs to discover my food was waiting for me on the edge of the warming bar. After 20 minutes of trying to get the attention of "grumpy gal with glasses and brown hair" I was basically told to go back to my table and that they would bring it up when ready. The mediocre food finally arrived in a lukewarm state of limpness. Having to stop there, I cannot warn you enough to save your hard earned $$$ and never step foot in here. Great place to just relax, unwind and read/ use your laptop as they have free wi-fi or even a nice place for a first date. Nice atmosphere but very arty and hipsterish. Portions were VERY small for the price, our order was brought out wrong the first time (completely different meal than what we ordered), potatoes were old, stone cold and the cashier who took our order was incredibly rude. When the cashier came out with the wrong plate, we were polite and told her it wasn't a big deal at all. She rolled her eyes and the audacity we had to ask for our ORIGINAL order and walked off without a word. Over a half hour of waiting on our food at this point, my mom got up to ask where our correct sandwich was (we only ordered ONE and were going to share)... as she came to sit back down I looked up to catch the same RUDE cashier glaring at our table, shaking her head and talking to other patrons about us as we sat there waiting for our actual meal to be prepared. A few minutes later the smallest sandwich came out with a super small portion of (again) cold and not fresh tasting potatoes... these were an additional $3... and the fruit compote was completely soaking through the paper cup it was served in. We were not asked if we needed any condiments, we were never checked on after we finally got our food and when I personally went up to ask for fresh fruit compote, not an old batch that had clearly been sitting out for a while (long enough to soak through a thick paper cup) the chef came out and threw the plate holding said compote into the bin while giving me a horrible look. Needless to say $18 for one tiny sandwich, terrible potatoes, old fruit compote and absolutely RUDE treatment by all staff members... we will not be going back again and advise you skip this place and enjoy any of the other much better restaurants in downtown Prescott. A AWFULL EXPERIENCE. We wanted to take our daughter and her husband to the Raven Cafe because it sounded like an interesting place. We live in Prescott and they were visiting from Portland Oregon. Our son-in-law brews his own beer and we were told Raven Cafe had a great selection of beers. Perfect, or so we thought. We were also told Raven Cafe was a little "strange". Seat yourself, order your own food at bar, and I'm not sure, but I think clean your own table. Didn't sound too bad. Wrong. It is bad. Since there is NO host, it's everyman for themself. People must hover around waiting for someome to act like there going to leave. Then bounce to secure their table. Anyone can cut in. They say they've had a "few scuffles" I can see why. After tring to "hover" for a while, and few cut-ins, we left. Very disapointed. I have never seen a restaurant run this way. I don't believe hiring a host would cost that much. Atleast you could be seated in a fair and orgainized manner. You should feel special the moment you enter. Raven Cafe does not do this. We felt like we were the entertainment for the employees. They seemed to enjoy the chaos. We crossed the street and dined at Monks. Had a great time. We will forever leave Raven Cafe off our list of places to go in our home town. I agree with another reviewer that you can order something one time and it's good and come back and order the same thing and it's nothing like what you had before. Case in point- I had the Pizza that is supposed to have caramelized onions on it and one I've had before was good & I was back a few months later and it was disgusting. The onions were nothing near caramelized, they were actually barely sautéed. I had a kind waiter who re-ordered it for me and when it came it was exactly the same. I asked him if I could speak to the manager and assured him it was not about him, it was the "chef", as his service had been lovely. I'm disabled and he so kindly got me my ice tea refills instead of me having to get up and get them myself because he saw I had a hard time. (Very sweet guy)! The manager came to my table - a nice woman and she apologized and had it made again for me. Well, third time was not the charm. It's as if the "chef" had never caramelized onions in their life! The manager was as kind and apologetic as she could be & unexpectedly gave me a gift certificate to return and try them again. As I did appreciate this kindness and good customer care, this place needs to hire a chef staff that know what they're doing and are consistent. This place would be a gold mine if they had tableservice from the time you order instead of ordering at the counter like a local taco joint (standing in line and ordering at the counter gives it a low rent feel). They already have people that bring the food to the table - why don't they run it like a regular sitdown restaurant? This just seems so ass backwards & I hate it! Much improvement is needed in food quality, consistency & full service. It's nice to have a manager who's so kind and apologetic, but I won't go back because I want it to be good from the start on a consistent basis and not be apologized to all the time. I went to the Raven last night with some friends from out of town. I was taking them around town to see the sights. From the second we entered the staff was just plain rude and pretentious. We ( a group of 5) each had a drink, and our tab was over $72.00. One of my guests went to use the facilities, and it stunk of a multitude of terrible smells, along with having feces on the wall. The music playing made you want to pull your hair out, which might explain the rudeness of the staff. I, by no means, would refer anyone to the raven. read more

This place is AH- MAZ-ING!! The food is fresh and mostly organic, which is important to me and my family. I had the prosciutto and mango goat cheese salad which was delish!! My son had a grilled cheese which was perfection!! It came with a side of fresh raspberries, mango, and pineapple. He was thrilled and ate every bite. Originally I was going to give this place zero stars if I could. The food was very mediocre, it took forever to come out, and the staff was rude. The food was sitting on the endcap for about 10 minutes before it was finally delivered to us (after I complained), so it was room temperature. I had the turkey sandwich...nothing special. My husband's chicken chipotle wrap was decent. After I complained about the wait, the owner came out and apologized and gave us a $25 gift card. So we went back the next day and I got the lemon garlic wrap and my husband got the club. Again, very bland and nothing special. The woman who worked the counter was rude and almost argumentative when I complained about the wait, saying how they had an upstairs and everyone came in at the same time, etc...whatever! Not my problem, and don't you know you never argue with a customer? I would not come back, even if I got another gift card. read more

Food was okay. I'm always happy when a place has a few vegan choices (not easy to find in Prescott). Nice beer selection. Service can be better. I think the place would benefit from actual servers handling specific tables rather than lining-up at the counter, ordering, paying and putting a number on the table. Once our food was delivered, that was pretty much the end of any service. As a side note, my wife had thought she ordered a wrap which didn't contain onions. The wrap that was delivered to the table featured tons of tiny pieces of onion. She had asked the "server/food delivery person" about the onions and he explained that that's how it comes. That's when my wife realized that she must have ordered the wrong wrap (sad face). The "server" just walked away. She wound up picking out as many onions as possible. True, it was her fault but a good, service-oriented establishment that values return business would have made it right. read more

Very sad day, The Raven has been deceiving us for years. Not ok in my book. Are there really any 100% organic meals at this so called "organic" café? Please ask the chef the next time you go in what is really organic. You will be as shocked as we were. They sell organic salsa with crappy conventional chips, a grass fed burger with bad sweet potato fries, an organic chicken pita without an organic pita? How is this organic? When we asked the owner, his response was that it was hard to find good sources. Then please do not sell us that sub pare garbage, especially if you are selling it to potential children. I have never intentionally given my 2 year old son nitrates, until I found out that the corn dogs they were selling were garbage. It makes me sick, especially knowing my wife ate many bad products while she was pregnant and nursing our son. This is the first restaurant in our town to even try to offer organic meals, and we greatly appreciate it, but please....if you are going to "do it"..."do it!" If not, inform people. We put our trust in you, and should not have to inquire about each and every item when we come in. We read your organic product board, we read your amazing mission statement, we see the passion and dedication in your employees, so please...don't let us down behind the scenes. I am sure that all restaurants get a bad rating here and there on Yelp but SERIOUSLY some people gave the Raven Cafe less than 4 stars?? Are they crazy??? I say yes because their food knocks my socks off! While visiting the Prescott area my hubby and I had originally planned on hitting up the crossroads cafe (my most favorite place to eat while in town) But it was not meant to be because of spring break it was closed so we settled on the Raven Cafe. Their food was so nice we ate their twice (in two days). The second time we ate there service was really slow. Two tables around us had one person get their food and then a crazy amount of time later, the other people at the table got their food. I personally hate it when that happens cause then you have to eat in front of your hungry friend and it gets a little awkward. Other than that, knocked my socks off with flavor and healthy ingredients so yea I think this place deserves 5 stars sooooooo there!!! read more

This is a great place except for one thing. They funnel every transaction through a maximum of two registers. This is no problem if you are just going to the register once for food and drink -- well, twice, because you have to go back again to pay the check if you don't close it out immediately -- but if you need to go back for more drinks you will be a busy waiter as well as a customer. You order the food and take a number. A server brings the food to the table. This is the only thing the servers are allowed to do. They cannot bring you a glass of wine or coffee or anything else. You get in line. This works out well for the owner, because the servers can't steal from him if they can't touch the money, but it must limit their income and it certainly presses the customer into working for the house. Do leave a tip, though. When I didn't put one on the check a manager came to the table to explain that this system is the way the owner wants it, and is not the fault of the servers, so that they should not be penalized. read more

Let me start off by saying I really wanted to like this place. There were four of us in our party with myself and my husband being vegetarian. We looked at several restaurants and chose The Raven for its expansive vegetarian selections. We decided to eat outside on the rooftop terrace which was really nice. We all ordered our food and that's when things began to go downhill. The guy at the register who took our orders must have been new because he was having trouble entering our orders into the computer. I placed my order for a vegetarian burger. We all sat and chatted while we waited for our food. Wow, it took waaaay to long to bring our orders. Our food finally arrived and the waitress brought me a cheese steak sandwich!! I I proceed to tell her that I am a vegetarian and did not order a cheese steak. Everyone at my table watched her take the food back up to the guy who was working the register and he appears to be telling her that the cheese steak was what I ordered. This was confirmed when someone in our party went up near the register to get a few napkins and overheard the guy saying HE placed the order correctly. HOW DISAPPOINTING. So, a lady, I think she was a manager, comes over to our table and tells us that they have now put in the order for my vegetarian burger and that the price was the same (as if to say I would have to pay more if there was a price difference!) I proceeded to let her know I've been a vegetarian for over 12 years and it would be impossible for me to "accidentally" order a cheese steak sub. She did not seem too interested. She just, sort of, apologized and walked away. Meanwhile, my entire party has been served and is eating their food. My husband got the falafel, which was not good AT ALL. My sister got the jerk chicken salad which she really liked. Our friend got a hamburger which she seemed to like. My food finally arrived about 20 minutes later.. no joking. Of course, everyone was already finished their food. I wolfed down my veggie burger, which was awful!! After all that, the thing was awful! This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Too bad. I had such high hopes for The Raven. Let me just add, I'm not one to always expect some sort of freebie when a restaurant falls short. BUT, this was one of those instances when they should have, AT LEAST, offered some sort of compensation..free dessert, pay for just my meal, or something to make up for the bad experience. read more
