We love this store for gifts and treats for ourselves!…read more It's definitely a great place to grab a gift - there are so many fun options, so whether you want a unique edible item, lovely kitchen towels, or a beautiful wearable item, you're sure to find something. We love the spice mixes and especially the drink syrups for our house - they're the perfect thing to have on hand to make any evening or gathering extra special. The service is always so friendly and welcoming. They will package things up beautifully for gifting and make suggestions, but they're never pushy. It feels so homey and is the sort of place you feel good about supporting.

After online research, this small business was recommended for a wide variety of spices, balsamic vinegars and it didn't disappoint. Was warmly greeted, walked into a beautiful small shop loaded with things you won't find elsewhere! Enjoyed not being rushed or pressured. My experience was like winning the lottery! The owner was incredibly knowledgeable, listened to what I needed and suggested outstanding products that I'd never seen before. Fresh, natural and potent flavors! Just the selection of balsamics are worth the trip, truly! In addition to all of the above; it also has eclectic, upscale gifts, unique clothing, jewelry, cards, soaps, oils and so much more. All of it is has a high end feel but won't break the bank. Choose here for a unique gift or thank you for someone special! There is street parking and also a dedicated free parking lot behind/next to store. Once home, everything that'd been recommended was exactly as promised and so very delicious! This is absolutely a small business that should be cherished and supported often!!!

Food: 5 Service: 5…read moreAmbiance: 5 Hidden gem alert! Tucked into an unassuming strip mall, you would never guess such a sexy, sophisticated spot is sitting right in the middle of it all. From the moment we walked into Fugghedabout, we were stunned. The space is dark, sultry, lightly dimmed, and incredibly chic, something you'd never expect here. It has a very grown up, intimate vibe (21+ only), perfect for date night or a night out with friends. We were lucky enough to visit on a night with live music (they have it Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays), and it completely set the mood. Even though it wasn't very busy, the energy was wonderful and the music was excellent. Service was top notch. Meghan was fantastic, friendly, attentive, accommodating, and so helpful throughout the meal. Faith, the owner, also stopped by several times to check on us, which earned major points. Such a sweet touch and much appreciated. Now the food... wow. We started with the seared scallop special topped with caviar, and it was outstanding, perfectly cooked, with the caviar adding just the right touch of saltiness. Honestly, we wanted to order more. The hot goat cheese with hot honey appetizer was delicious and so comforting. Definitely get extra bread, you'll want it. Since it was Taco Tuesday, we tried the taco trio with chicken, steak, and shrimp. The steak and shrimp were standouts. The chicken was slightly dry, but overall we really enjoyed them. And the biggest surprise of the night was the shrimp and sausage skillet. Absolutely incredible. So flavorful and rich, and again we needed more bread to soak up every bit of that delicious sauce. We also ordered the crème brûlée for dessert, which was good. The sugar topping was slightly thick, and I'll admit I'm a bit of a dessert snob, so while we enjoyed it, the meal itself was really the shining star of the night. I'm already dreaming about my next visit. I was genuinely impressed by everything, service, ambiance, food, and live music. This place is a whole vibe. Five stars all the way. Highly recommend for anyone looking for amazing food in a sultry, intimate setting. I've already recommended it to several friends. Thank you Meghan and Faith for such a great night. We'll definitely be back!

Fuhgeddaboudit! But my visit was so memorable that I will never forget about it!…read more Faith (owner) really has something special in Windomar, CA., just off of the Clinton Keith exit of Interstate 15. Imagine an elegant Wine Bar with dim lighting, an Old Skool atmosphere, and a wine list and menu of entrees and appetizers that will challenge any palate, compliments of Chef Orquedea. It was our first visit, arriving just as they opened, and having the whole romantic, classy speakeasy all to ourselves, our server Megan, made us feel right at home. Ensuring we received a little history about the establishment, the day's specials, and what some of their customers' favorites. To begin the experience, we received complimentary glasses of sparkling wine in celebration of their one-year anniversary, which was a nice touch. After a brief moment, we settled on sausage and three-cheese skillet appetizers with a house baguette. The two dishes arrived piping hot, gooey, and enticing! Amazingly delicious to say the least! Kudos to their place settings, glassware, and cloth napkins. Our selected wine was excellent as well, and the selection is very worldly and admirable. THIS is my favorite date place in the area!!! Chill, fashionable, comfortable seating, gorgeous bar, soft music in the background allowing for conversation, and the restroom provides a pleasant surprise as well. Hours of operation hover around Happy Hour and dinner, closing at 9 PM on weekdays and 10 pm on Friday and Saturday. Looking forward to enjoying their live entertainment and themed events in the future, at which time I will follow up on this review. Thank you, Faith, Megan & Orquedea for a wonderful time.--

As follows: We chose Mercado Laguna's chimichurri chicken; pre-marinated in garlic, aleppo pepper, red wine vinegar, and herbs. I put it into a skillet and twenty minutes later you've got four dishes that taste like a plan. Here is what you do: Char four tomatillos in the drippings, add sun-dried tomato, a splash of tequila, squeeze of orange; that's your salsa. Warm the refried beans in the same pan. Crumble cold cotija over the beans right before serving; salty, dry, and sharp enough to cut through everything warm underneath it. Guacamole is already waiting cold on the side. Mercado's vibe: Friendly, casual and relaxed, The Yantville Market in Saint Helena comes to mind and that of small Mediterranean bodegas, in particular Greece.

I've been holding off on this review because I hate when the good places go viral and I get…read moreswarmed. But Bristol Farms is such a gem, and way better than Whole Foods. Even though each store has a strengths, I feel like overall Bristol Farms is the better of the two. This is speaking as millennial and maybe Bristol Farms serves a more immature crowd. Hopefully it stays that way. They have everyday products and they have very niche products. Literally something for everyone their bakery is delicious and of course they have their classic big cookies that are served warm. I haven't had anything from the juice/coffee bar yet, but I will next, however the poke bar and the hot bar, never disappoints and that is why I'm writing this review finally. Today I had a flounder piccata mashed potatoes, perfectly roasted vegetables, and pasta Bolognese with huge chunks of beef. Everything was delicious. The flounder even remained crunchy two hours after leaving the store they don't have the variety in the hot bar that Whole Foods has, however, the quality is far superior, and the flavor is in the upper echelon compared to Whole Foods. These are consistent findings within the self-service food area even within the deli carving station. Sometimes they have turkey briskets. I believe I've even purchased prime rib there and the quality and flavor is always on point consistently the presentation of all of their items never fails either also, every time I go to Bristol Farms you're always greeted with a smile. The staff is really nice and in general they look like they're happy to be there which makes the shopping experience that much better.

I went in to purchase Harry's Berries strawberries, and while I was shopping, a produce stocker named Hung took it upon himself to say, "You know those are $20, right?" I had not asked about the price. I was just buying my strawberries. The comment felt unnecessary, presumptive, and embarrassing--like he had decided I needed to be warned about the cost of something I had already chosen to purchase. As a customer of color, it also made me wonder whether he would have made that same comment to shoppers who do not share my skin color. That is not the kind of interaction any customer should have while grocery shopping, especially at a store like Bristol Farms. Other shoppers should be aware of this experience, and I hope Bristol Farms takes it seriously. Please do better and train employees not to make assumptions about customers.
