Although the cake looked beautiful, it didn't taste good. The texture of the cake seemed too dense and tasted as if it had been frozen at some point. The white chocolate chunks tasted stale. The raspberry buttercream filling was too heavy, which made an already dense cake difficult to eat. I don't usually give out reviews, but I have to say, I was very disappointed in the quality and don't think the cake was worth the price $$$$

Rachel was incredible to work with - I sent her a pic of what I wanted and what I received was even more beautiful than I imagined! Our little guy loved his first tastes of sugar! We ALL loved the cake and cupcakes!! I wasn't expecting the cake to be so moist and amazing! My husband is a cupcake FIEND and claims to have tried every cupcake in NYC! He said the cake was absolutely incredible (and he is not one to "sugar coat" things!) Not only are these cakes beautiful they are delicious... and Rachel delivered right to our house so I didn't have to worry about leaving to pick it up!

Her pricing was reasonable, and she uses the best quality ingredients. Rachel was a one-stop shop offering delivery to our site (Monarch Beach Resort,) and even offers a selection of cake stand rentals. She was so caring and ensured that our florist took precaution to tape flowers placed on the cake to prevent any contamination. Rachel even went above and beyond to swing by our Airbnb with a sample of our cake the day before for us to taste. On our big day, guests raved about how beautiful the cake was AND how delicious. I loved that it wasn't overly sweet and had the most delicate lemon accent coupled with fresh raspberries. It was divine; I couldn't get enough and had more and more the following days during our stay. Bravo, Rachel! You are truly the absolute best. Wish we're local; we'd use you for every special occasion!

We loved the absolutely gorgeous birthday cake made and delivered by Rachel, owner of Raycakes! We held a celebration for my 65th birthday and it was THE only gift I wanted from my husband. The cake was everything and more - heartwarming, special, beautiful and delicious. Two tiers of goodness, coconut and strawberry and a delightful raspberry purée. We modeled it off a cake she did for a one year old, so we can truly say that Rachel knows how to make exquisite cakes for the young and the 'old' and everyone in between . And as gorgeous as it is, it tasted even better with 3 different flavors in the tiers! Rachel delivered! I contacted her late with only one week between my order and the date of a one-year old's birthday in southern California. She responded quickly and accommodated my late request. I had contacted 4-5 possible vendors and Rachel was the clear winner in both customer service and in getting the order details efficiently. She delivered the cake on the day of the event on time and without issues. And her cake was both beautiful and delicious! We ordered a 2-tiered vanilla cake with strawberry fruit/cream filling and sent a photo of a cake for a design that we wanted to copy that we found online. Though our original order requested one filling type, Rachel suggested the possibility of having a different flavor on one of the tiers of the cake because a lot of her customers liked this particular filling - so we ended up having the cake's top tier as vanilla with raspberry fruit/cream filling at no extra charge. I loved the suggestion because I would not have thought of requesting this People enjoyed the cake and commented on how moist and fresh it tasted. And I thought she did a wonderful job with the design. Will definitely order from Rachel again in the future!

Had a fabulous experience with Rachel. She created a customized cake for my uncle-in-law's 60th birthday. We had a short phone conversation and from that she was able to put together a few options as far as styling and budgets. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process. Ray Cakes is AMAZING! I wanted to order a custom cake for a 25th birthday, and Rachel did a wonderful job creating the perfect cake that I had in mind. I told her exactly what I wanted and was extremely pleased at how it turned out. She was super easy to work with and replied very quickly to all the emails/questions I had. Ray! Was excellent, I was celebrating my daughters birthday in Irvine but didn't know of any Bakery that would be good, I yelped it, and read Ray's profile and decided to give her a try! And I'm so glad I did she made me cupcakes for my daughter birthday party and everyone kept saying wow!!this cupcakes are delicious and moist they were all delicious but my favorite was the red velvet! Rachel was awesome from start to finish. She communicated with me throughout the entire transaction and had prompt responses. I loved the cake that she created for me. It's wasnt the cake that I had originally thought that she was making but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it. The only feedback I have is that there was a banner that she created that had a saying on it. Unfortunately, the banner fell off before I was able to see it (as she dropped it off at my moms house). However, My mom went and got a couple things to add to it. They really complimented it. It turned out great. One other thing was the taste of the cake. The cake had more of a cornbread flavor. I'm not a fan of that cake consistency or flavor and would have preferred more of a vanilla cake taste, but it was more about the presentation then eating it. Overall, for the price and service she provided, I would recommend using Rachel in the future. read more

Rachel is so awesome to work with. Don't take advantage of her too much for this but she responds quickly even outside of her posted business hours. Her pricing is VERY reasonable from what I was quoted while shopping around. I requested a jungle themed baby shower cake and her little fondant animals were absolutely adorable. Her cake pops were also a HUGE hit with our guests!!!! Here are two testaments, I don't like cake pops but I loved hers! My friend hates red velvet but liked Rachel's. I highly recommend working with Rachel for any of your custom cake or cake pop needs! read more

I was very lucky to have found Rachel who did my sister's surprise birthday cake!! Initially I was a bit apprehensive about ordering a custom cake because my sister can be a bit... I have to say that the wedding cake from Ray Cakes far exceeded the bride's expectations. My very close friend who is a quadriplegic with a very limited budget asked me if I could help to plan a wedding for he and his sweet bride Jessica. With only 6 weeks to pull off a wedding for 180 people (on a VERY tight budget-all from funds raised on GoFundMe) while working full time, I did not know HOW I was going to pull this wedding off. i can't thank rachel enough for my custom jack daniels cake that i had made for a birthday. it was really on short notice, and i was sort of scrambling with ideas and requests. i sent her an email with what i was aiming for and she just took it from there and got it done. she offers delivery, though i opted to pick mine up. i had to pick mine up a day early due to timing issues, but it was delicious the next day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. most of all the birthday boy really liked it, and that was all that mattered! can't wait to get a unicorn cake for myself hah! read more

I found Ray Cakes through work when Rachel came up in a few discussions at work. When I reached out to her I had a rather big request, making two custom cakes based on a video game. Rachel was not only extremely helpful helping me navigate the process of ordering a cake (it was my first time) but also incredibly excited about getting every detail right. If that wasn't enough, she went above and beyond to deliver the cakes straight to the office and ensure they were fresh for our event. As far as the cakes themselves were, they were absolutely stunning. Everyone in the office was surprised just how beautiful they were. It was as though she had reached straight into the game and plucked out the design. When it comes to flavor, my coworkers couldn't get enough. I was hoping there would be some cake the day after the event, which is usually the case in our office, but both were consumed within hours. We will definitely be reaching out to Ray Cakes if we have any projects with cakes come up. read more

I can't praise Rachel enough for helping me out when I needed a cake for my cousin's baby shower. Especially during wedding season! I must have called at least 10 different places until I was lucky enough to find Rachel. She made us a beautiful cake and cupcakes. Not only was the 3 tiered cake beautiful but the flavors that she helped choose was a hit! One of my cousins who doesn't like carrot cake not only had 1 slice but she went back for seconds! The kids absolutely loved the chocolate tier and my favorite was the moist red velvet tier. Rachel was extremely professional, responded to all of my requests and emails right away. Rachel (Ray) made our cake for our wedding and it was beautiful and delicious! It was 3 layers, each with a different flavor and design and it came out wonderful. Everyone loved it! To make it even better, Ray helped us order our cake topper and cake stand off of Etsy (for cheaper too I might add) and also just made everything so easy! By the far the best experience (and price) we had with all of the bakers we met. The reception site even accidentally threw out our anniversary cake and she offered to make us a new one free of charge!! Awesome! We would definitely recommend her! I chose Ray Cakes because of her high quality designs and amazing service. I was looking for a rosette cake, which I learned during my search that it's hard to find someone who does these well. I was also a little nervous to choose a large bakery as you don't know exactly who will be decorating the cake and if it will turn out well. We reached out to Ray Cakes for a quote for a cake and a smash cake for my daughter's first birthday. Rachel replied quickly, answered all of our questions (we had a lot), and even followed up a few days later to check in. It was very apparent that Rachel really cares about her clients and her cakes! Rachel created a beautiful cake and gorgeous cake pops that went perfectly with our color scheme. Her desserts are delicious, and on top of all of that, she was very easy to work with. She delivered the cake on time and set up the cake table with my cake topper and the stands that I rented from her. My top favorite were the cookie dough and the amaretto raspberry. The raspberry filling has the perfect balance of sweetness, but a slight tart (like a hint of acidity). My boys loved the mudslide as it is a chocolate lovers DREAM and the French toast. My plan was to try 3 different businesses however the Divas have given me exactly what I was looking for. I had to hide the multiple areas of missing fondant with moons .. It was a big disaster, absolutely disappointing and upsetting. She had the audacity to respond back in capital letters and refused to provide a full refund -despite claiming that she holds customer service at an excellent level. The groupon had details that required us to reach out either calling/emailing a specific time we would want to order and pickup the strawberries. They replied the next day and our pickup day and time was set! The day we went to go pickup our order we had a lot of trouble even finding the location. We knew that it was located within ICON Park and my boyfriend and I are definitely not tourists to the Orlando area so we were baffled when even we had to sit aside somewhere to double check the address/map. After a little bit more searching online we found out where it was located: The Wheelhouse Market. There's a small sign indicating that Shack Sweets is located somewhere in the array of food concession counters. It looked empty and there was even a little sign saying closed. We were worried as we had confirmed our pickup time and day and even double checked. I ended up calling them and provided my info and what we were picking up and in just a matter of seconds an employee appeared with our order! The strawberries were extremely delicious and sweet! They held up the next couple of days in the fridge which you don't see very often when it comes to chocolate strawberries. Although it was a little confusing to find the place it's definitely a place I see myself ordering from again soon!

When I finally found it, I was almost very upset because the section was already closed even though it was ten minutes before their closing time posted. After calling and telling them I was there, someone instantly popped out and gave me the chocolates. The chocolate strawberries gave Sherris Berries a run for their money, at a fraction of the cost. The chocolate was remarkable and the strawberries tasted so fresh, I thought they could've been picked fresh that morning. I will for sure be back again when I am in the area and craving some amazing chocolate strawberries or many other items that they offer! Aside from the closing early, this place had nothing for me to complain about!

You pay ahead of time and they do prompt you to tip. There was only one guy working and he spent at least 5 minutes preparing my order. After watching him make my order I wondering if I should have left a bigger tip. Warning: The parking lot for this restaurant is shared with Arcade Time Entertainment plus other businesses and depending on the time of day it can be challenging to find a space.

I was in Florida for a surprise birthday for my boyfriend. I did a Google search trying to find cupcakes I could just buy for his birthday. I found Ray Cakes with beautiful pictures so I called. There was no answer but I instantly got a text back about missing my call. I ended up talking to Rachel and explained I was looking for cupcakes. she accommodated my request for 1/2 dozen cupcakes but she went the extra mile and made them fresh and allowed me to have multiple flavors. She delivered them to me on time!!! I was totally impressed by the professionalism and amazing customer service. We immediately tasted one of the cupcakes and OH MY GOODNESS!!! These delicious cupcakes were absolutely amazing, from the soft cake to the delicious smooth icing. The flavor was authentically unique and awesome. The fact that I was from out of town and Ray Cakes went the extra mile to make my birthday surprise even more special on top of the delicious cupcakes was absolutely amazing. Whenever I'm in Florida I will always reach out to Ray Cakes and order cupcakes!!! We chose Ray Cakes for our wedding cake. Rachel was a delight to work with. She is very organized, responsive and reliable. For the cake tasting she came up with 12 different flavor samples. We had a hard time selecting one flavor and we are not even cake people! She made very good suggestions and recommendations. We ended up with lemon flavor for our wedding cake. Our initial delivery was scheduled at noon (she offers delivery service and I highly recommend it especially if its for a special occasion). A day before our wedding I asked Rachel if the cake can be delivered earlier because we were planning to start the ceremony at noon. Since it was a last minute request she had other cake deliveries lined up, so she could not promise. The day of our wedding she delivered the cake at 11 am an hour before the ceremony, per my request! Rachel made a phenomenal cake that was made with quality ingredients and fresh flowers. It was beautiful and scrumptious. I am already looking forward to working with Rachel for all my future cake needs read more

We Just ordered from Ray Cakes for a 2nd time! This time, it was for my wife's birthday. And somehow it was an EVEN BETTER EXPERIENCE. She went above and beyond once again! We ordered a small cake and asked if Rachel knew a good place to get balloons. Well, Rachel took care of everything! We were able to order a cake, balloons and delivery all in one package! The cake was so delicious, the balloons were beautiful and the delivery was in the exact time frame we needed. Thank you again for a great experience! Service was great, price was reasonable, Design was terrific, right on point with what we talked about over text. I ordered a pout pout fish cake, I sent a few pictures for ideas and she nailed the design. Actual cake taste was also very delicious, I got the vanilla cake. It wasn't super sugary like most bakery's which I liked considering the birthday cake was for my nephews 1st birthday. my only complaint was the cake was larger than I needed but that was only because I ordered with only 2 days notice and it was all that was available. Rachel did a beautiful job on my niece's bridal shower cake! She truly listened to what 'vision' I had for the cake and what she created was spot on! And not only was it beautiful, the cake was delicious!
