My home warranty company is Old Republic - so when the heat went out the other day I put in a service request. Raydan was assigned to me. I called them to schedule an appointment because it is freezing in my house and I needed them to come same day. They answered the phone with "hello" which just irks me because if you are using your cell phone as a business line, answer the phone as such. So they said they'll be able to come by 1-4pm, same day. Ok that's fine and standard. So I waited and I waited. 4:03pm I called them and they said they are backed up and should be by by 6:30pm, arghhh so I waited. They called when they were on the way. The technician came in and talked a good game. Then he pulls apart my Ecobee and starts messing around with the wiring. He kept asking me if NVenergy put in the ecobee and I said no, my boyfriend did it. Then he asked if my boyfriend knew what he was doing and I said yes, he knows wiring, took him a while to install the ecobee because the system was so old. Then my boyfriend comes home and was pissed off because the guy messed with his wiring and he didn't know what he was doing. So the guy leaves because he couldn't get on the roof to actually check the unit because it was too dark. He told us he'll be back tomorrow morning before noon. But he said the coils are probably dirty and we were using the wrong filter. He goes and sits in his van and then comes back after a bit because he wasn't confident on what he did to the wiring on my ecobee. Then my boyfriend had to school him on proper wiring and the flow of power. The guy also said he's never dealt with "this kind of technology"... o.m.g.......... He also was amazed by our electronic automatic door lock... We were gonna give him a chance the next day to see if he's able to figure out what's wrong with the unit but as the morning was going I texted him and he said he'll be by around 2pm. Now if you know me you'll know I don't like lairs and of course I know it's difficult to estimate time frames with service calls but he insisted that he'll get to my house in the morning and by noon the latest the previous night. Anyways, it's a good thing my boyfriend redid his wiring because the guy would have blown a circuit and/or caused a fire in my house. read more

If you want an honest, knowledgeable, and reliable HVAC technician, call Jay. 3 or so years ago, my AC units weren't working properly. The temperature indoors won't go beyond 85°F so I called a different HVAC company to fix my A/C units. They told me I needed to replace both units for $24,000.00 or fix it for $14,000. That's crazy since our units aren't even 10 yrs old. So, I looked for another company with high Google and Yelp ratings, and Raydan showed up. My home warranty company sent them out to get a second opinion after the first company they sent claimed that my AC stopped working due to negligence of not being serviced/kept clean which he said is not a covered repair from the warranty company. Mind you this is a 32 year old unit and we just bought the house last year so it's not our fault that it was never cleaned or serviced prior to us buying (that's why you buy a warranty!). The first company Wave Heating & Air, gave me the run around and initially wouldn't even do anything to repair the unit, not even bothering to open it up to see if it was actually dirty as he claimed. The guy finally put in some freon and it worked for about an hour then quit working. I then had an outside technician to come out and clean/service my AC but that still didn't fix it and he couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. I called my warranty back and they called Wave Heating and Air back to send out again as a recall service and apparently the guy refused to come back out so they contacted a new vendor to come out. The second company said the soonest they could get me in was 2 days later (we were already on our 3rd day of no AC working in 110 degree Las Vegas heat) and we were supposed to be priority service because I have young children and my mother, a senior citizen, in the house. So I called warranty back again, and asked for a new vendor that would come out immediately. Here comes Raydan to the rescue. Not only did Jay, I presume to be the owner, come out on apparently his day off as he wasn't wearing a uniform and apologized for (I don't care just fix the AC!) but he was very knowledgeable. He spent time actually taking apart the unit and found the issue with some frayed coils or something (a non covered repaired). He told me he would contact warranty to see if they would cover it and they did and that was the problem with why it stopped working. He said the AC probably only had about 1-3 years left of life and then we would need a new unit. I reached out to my home warranty company for my non- functioning AC unit the week when the Las Vegas valley temperatures were in the 3 digits. Jay came and assessed the problem...it was the furnace and not the AC unit! He resolved the problem in 4 days (he had to wait for the availability of a proprietary part - the blower motor, and made some modifications to it). Jay is a good scam artist! He knew what to say to the warranty company just so they wouldn't cover it and that he can get paid out of our pocket for a higher cost!! He charged us for a part 500x more than what it cost. We know this because we called another AC company n told them what happened and he was so shocked he charged us so much more, for a less than $15 parts!! Also when we called jay because our AC was not working again, he said he had to hang up because he was too busy and never returned our call after that!!! Umm yeah because you already got our money! Don't go with these guys, they will scam you too, especially if you're working with a home warranty company!!! I would like to express my appreciation to Rayden heating and air conditioning Conpany. I called for service per my insurance company. I was so amazed by their honesty and patients with me. They are a very honest company. When you have issues in your home, sometimes you are very leery, but to my surprise I was patiently assisted by telling me to something simply change my battery.
