two drinks on a table

Mid teahouse. Mid food, small yummy portions but why so expensive? W service, workers are generally nice. Mid ambiance, many kids from the high school nearby on weekdays. Small shop, can get crowded easily, but there is seating outside. Mid tea, nothing spectacular except maybe the brown sugar boba. Overall, not a womp womp but not a dub.

I ordered the taro cream tea and I'm not sure if that's what I received. I was confused when I realized it was a tan color but I figured there was no way the employee would've messed up my order seeing as how I was the only one in the store. If I was mistakenly served something else, I'm not sure why. If it was in fact taro cream tea, it's the worst I've had. It tasted like a mocha Frappuccino and I'm not a fan of coffee or chocolate. I'd revisit to give it a second try but I'm not sure that I'll be back any time soon.

Cream milk tea with egg pudding and tapioca (left) Thai green tea with tapioca. (Right)

I'm so glad this Teahouse opened up. It is now the closest one to me where I can get my bubble tea fix! The tapioca was perfectly cooked, not overly chewy and just the right amount of sweet. They also have various other boba you can add to your drink, not just tapioca. The tea was delicious, not overly sweet, and just the right amount of tapioca. Grilled Chicken "sandwich":: The Bahn mi's are a bit lacking, in my opinion. The grilled chicken wasn't exactly "grilled". It was a baked chicken drum with sweet and sour glaze, shredded and stuck into a bun. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't what I was looking for. Popcorn Chicken:: Small little balls of fried chicken, perfect snack to just pop into your mouth as your work on whatever project on your laptop while sipping on some bubble tea. Will definitely be back to try all the other flavors!

Strawberry Lychee Tea

I really wanted to like RayLy Teahouse for more than its relaxing ambiance and wonderful customer service, unfortunately their banh mi was so horrible that I sadly have to deduct two stars from my review. I came here on a Friday afternoon with a friend for a quick bite after seeing the positive reviews and 4.5 stars rating on Yelp. I was actually surprised that there was a teahouse in this area of town and even more surprised that they served banh mi, so of course I had to order a banh mi - a teahouse is only as good as its tea and banh mi. Peach Mango Tea (w/ mixed fruit jelly and mango bits): 5/5 Very refreshing taste although the flavoring is syrup-based and the tea isn't actually peach or mango tea, just plain green tea. The mango pieces really highlighted the taste and brought out the tropical feel of the tea even when watered down. The addition of mixed fruit jelly isn't necessary as the tea was already sweet from the syrup, but it helped maintained the sweetness of the tea throughout. Definitely a great tea for someone who loves fruity and sweet things like I do. Strawberry Lychee Tea (w/ strawberry & mango bits): 4/5 Like the other flavored teas, this tea is also syrup-based. There is a very small hint of lychee as the strawberry syrup was overpowering and overshadowed the lychee taste. I liked the addition of strawberry/mango bits, unfortunately the strawberry bits are slightly old and soft and in turn added an overall bitterness aftertaste to the tea. Overall, still a great fruity tea, but drink at your own discretion, of course, if you prefer sweetness. BBQ Pork Banh Mi: 2/5 I really hate that I'm saying this, but this banh mi was the worst banh mi I have ever tasted in my life. Although juicy (questionably too juicy really), the pork was clearly not grilled or seasoned well and lacked color, consistency, and flavor of BBQ meat that I'm used to when visiting Chinatown. Additionally, there wasn't enough pickled veggies and the white cabbage did not substitute for the lack of pickled carrots or the abhorrent usage of mayonnaise instead of butter. The only reason I spared 2 stars for this banh mi because although the ingredients did not harmonize, they were still good/acceptable individually. For example, the bread was crispy, the pickled veggies were sour, and the veggies were fresh. Unfortunately, I would not recommend eating their banh mi, although I would probably come back for the tea since there isn't a teahouse in the area and I did like the tea flavors and would like to try their cream tea and Cha Mango. Overall, the customer service and ambiance were pleasant, but the banh mi was not. And banh mi is everything. #baemi Tips for first timers: They have stamp cards; buy 10 get 1 free.

Thai tea w/ lychee poppers + strawberry banana smoothie + popcorn chicken.

Really great service! I got a Thai tea with lychee poppers with my friend, and about halfway through my drink the sugar got to me a little and I asked to make it a little less sweet. I didn't think they'd let me because it was about halfway done but the guy at the counter was super nice about it and said he could just add some more tea. He gave it back and it was almost completely full, which was really cool. Very friendly staff, and I like that they have some soft armchairs. I think the location is a little out of the way though, which might be why they don't have too many reviews...? Its a great place for boba and snacks though!

Chocolate milk tea

Wow the first decent tea place in Missouri city. Stopped by here when my friend told me they just opened and because she said this place is even cheaper than teahouse! I got the chocolate tea with tapioca($4.15 I think). It was yummy. And I think my friend got the creme milk tea with tapioca (less than $4 WOWW I KNOW). I tried his and it almost tasted the same as mine. Mine just had a more chocolatey flavor too it. Somewhat similar to the Hershey's syrup you get at the store. I still liked it though. However they did charge an extra 55 cents on mine for adding tapioca. So keep that in mind. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The place was super clean and new. And they had plenty of board games like Jenga and connect 4. Definitely stop by if you haven't been to this location!!

Bubble Waffle

Great teas and smoothies. The boba here is pretty good! I recommend the new Bubble Waffles and Boba Brown Sugar

They're closed 30 minutes early. Their business hours need to be changed if this is intentional.

I am pleased with their coffee selection/flavors, and how they take great care of the beverages. Every drink I've had here does not disappoint. I found out about them from a mobile cart (which they still do!) I heard they've expanded to matcha green tea... y'all should check them out! Some highlights of drinks I've had there are their Drip Coffee, Lattes, and Flat White. They take extra care of their drinks and their expert baristas get them right everytime!

But l didn't have the same positive experience like most people here- the lady who took my payment (my receipt said Alicia) was not friendly at all, not sure why. I walked in and said hi and I got no response for a hot minute. A smile and a kind reply doesn't take too much effort and goes a long way. The gentleman who picked up the phone probably the barista making the drinks was super kind and offered to start on my drink when I called it in even though he said they don't typically do that. Also I did not love the latte I got- it was similar to that of a Dutch bros coffee. Drinkable yes for sure but not a top choice for good quality beans and home made syrups that you can find elsewhere in the SL/Missouri city area.

Coffee is coffee, why not just go to the coffee shop with less traffic? But people are habitual creatures I guess? I've been visiting Bean Here for years, before this establishment opened I drove to Sienna, and sometimes to Arcola at the larger lab. Coffee and lattes are decent. This location is in a bank, situated in a corner. Here is my honest opinion: It's expensive. For a green tea and croissant I paid $10. Sire the croissant was huge... but still. That was a lot of money for a quick breakfast of bread and tea. I told myself I would have to do something else next time. Came in today and got a blueberry muffin. $5.14 before tip. What?... why? Why is a blueberry muffin so much? Is it like... made of imported Willy Wonka sugars or something? That's just expensive. And I got the muffin because they didn't have a croissant. Seems like a limited menu. The blueberry muffin was ok... I didn't make the mistake of ordering a drink because I wanted to keep my tab low this morning. Service is meh. They weren't warm or friendly at all. When she saw me struggling with my selection she didn't even use that as an opportunity to sell another pastry. She described nothing if I didn't point and ask about it. She was quite dry. Just wanted to close me out and... stand there I guess, there were no other customers. Otherwise I like the coffee shop, and I would always choose it over Starbucks because I prefer to support small, local businesses not monopolies that monopolize. Wish the staff was warmer. Wish the food was a tad cheaper. But it's ok. I will be back once a quarter to support.
