I'm an Advanced Senior Citizen (an old lady), and everyone helped me and made sure I was comfortable, warm, etc. I now have a dentist and dental office I trust. The offices are relatively new (2024, I think), and they are STATE OF THE ART with great dental and testing equipment, along with great staff and a terrific office manager. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this office. Everything seemed fine when I first arrived, but things quickly took a turn. They performed a saliva test, which in nearly 33 years of going to dentists, I have never had done at any other practice. Immediately afterward, I was told I needed a deep cleaning along with several other treatments. This came as a surprise because I had been to a highly reputable dentist in Beverly Hills just six months earlier and none of these issues were mentioned. At that office, I received a routine cleaning without being told I needed extensive treatment. I understand this office is part of Smile Generation, but the experience felt much more focused on selling treatment than caring for the patient. Before I even received any cleaning, which never even happened, I was handed a multi-page treatment plan totaling nearly $3,000. The most frustrating part was the advertised new patient special. The promotion clearly stated it included a comprehensive exam, X-rays, and a cleaning. I specifically confirmed this over the phone before scheduling and the office assured me the cleaning was included. However, after my exam, I was told I would not receive the cleaning because I "needed" a deep cleaning instead. When I reminded the dentist that I had confirmed the $59 special over the phone, she told me she had been standing next to the office manager during that call and claimed the cleaning was never promised. That was simply not true. If she was actually present, she would have heard the office confirm exactly what was included. The conversation left me feeling gaslit and dismissed. Once they refused to perform the routine cleaning, it became clear that the goal was to sell the much more expensive deep cleaning. It felt like the advertised special was simply a way to get patients in the door and then steer them toward costly treatment plans. Overall, the experience felt more like a sales appointment than a dental visit. If you are looking for an honest, straightforward dentist for routine care, I would look elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would not be surprised if nearly every new patient is told they need a deep cleaning. I have dual PPO insurance, and I know deep cleanings are covered, yet I was still charged a significant out-of-pocket amount. I was never informed that a laser would be used, nor that it would be an additional charge per quadrant. I assumed it was part of the standard procedure. This was never discussed or consented to prior to treatment. Even more concerning, my son and I were separated and taken to different rooms, and they proceeded to do multiple fillings on my son without ever informing me how many were needed or asking for my consent. No one came to explain the treatment plan before starting, during my own procedure, or afterward. As a parent, this is completely unacceptable. At no point was I given a clear treatment plan or cost breakdown for either of us. Despite having dual insurance coverage, I was still charged $621 out of pocket. When I asked for an itemized receipt, I was told they could not provide one, which is a huge red flag. This office feels extremely money-driven, with poor communication and questionable consent practices. I truly regret not paying closer attention to the reviews before booking here.
