I've been through ALOT of dentist over the years. I use to have complete phobia from my childhood experiences of dentist from hell. I've improved and "delt with it" as an adult but still would get anxious whenever I had a dental appointment. A friend referred me to Dr. Najarian. She told me he was awesome, very cool and gentle with no pain. After meeting and becoming his patient, I will go no where else. I was a patient of Dr. Najarian for over three years, and while Amanda at the front desk and Lily, his assistant, are both incredible--caring, professional, and helpful--my recent experience with Dr. Najarian himself was appalling. I went to him with an urgent issue--a loose baby tooth that required immediate attention. From the start, Dr. Najarian was dismissive and impatient. He snapped at me when I squirmed in discomfort, telling me I needed to "get over it." Despite me being visibly stressed and anxious, he continued to bulldoze me with information about procedures and costs without giving me a chance to ask questions. When I did try to ask, he rudely shut me down with a sharp, "Can I finish what I was saying?" multiple times, making me feel small and humiliated. What was worse, I quickly realized he was trying to scam me. He recommended a $2,000 temporary tooth for a four-month period, even though it was clear from my research and from other dentists that this was unnecessary. The temporary tooth he wanted to charge me for was a type meant for permanent dentures, not a short-term solution. When I questioned this and asked for alternatives, he insisted there were none, which simply wasn't true. I later found out that other dentists offered a much more affordable solution for $350. On top of that, he wanted to take two molds of my mouth--one with the tooth still in and one after extraction--which made no sense. Even the surgeon he referred me to said this was unnecessary. It became obvious that he was trying to maximize what he could bill me and my insurance for, without any regard for what was actually needed. When I started asking more questions about the costs and insurance, he became even ruder, clearly irritated that I was challenging him. To top it all off, after overwhelming me with information and refusing to listen to my concerns, he fired me as a patient through his receptionist, not even having the decency to tell me himself. For a patient of over three years, dealing with an urgent and distressing issue, this was absolutely despicable. Dr. Najarian's treatment was not only rude and unprofessional, but he also tried to scam me out of thousands of dollars. I would never recommend him to anyone looking for honest, compassionate care. The only bright spot in his office is Amanda and Lily--both of whom deserve to work in a far better environment. read more

If you are thinking to go to this dentist, you need to read my review first: Probably they are going to tell you that you need to see a gums specialist. After that they are going to send you to a root canal specialist, even if you don't need it. I think that was my case. But let me tell you what happened to me on my last day visiting Dr Najarian (March 22). He cut my tongue with the drill. I know accidents happen, but He handled the situation in the worst way. He only made and appointment with a surgeon and basically pushed me out of the office. I was bleeding, with my tongue swollen and nervous. I drove to the surgeon. At the end they charged to my insurance the service of the surgeon. And took me weeks to reverse that transaction. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. read more

Let me start by saying Dr. Hoosik is an outstanding dentist who does an excellent job. He has been my dentist for quite sometime, and has always been professional. He very upbeat and friendly who has a passion for what he does and it shows in his work! I cracked a tooth eating popcorn. He explained the procedure to me as he performed root canal surgery, and sealing it with a porcelain crown. The work was done beautifully, and I'm grateful because I smile a-lot! The staff is outstanding! I left my previous dentist because of the unusual high turnover of staff. With a major fear of the dentist, I walked into Dr. Najarian's office under the assumption that I'd be in and out as soon as humanly possible. His office is in an extremely convenient location on Riverside in between Lankershim and Cahuenga. His office is clean and cozy, and I was immediately greeted by Amanda. She was sweet and thorough leaving my wait time to a minimum despite the fact that I had made a last minute appointment. Minutes later, I was with Lillian, the hygienist, who was polite and thorough as well. We spoke about my then and now habits, and she was able to provide me with good advice pertaining to my particular situation. When I met Dr. Najarian he greeted me warmly, but I was still nervous knowing that my teeth have not been in the best of health. He checked my gums with caution and provided me with great results. As a team, they provided me a routine cleaning, and a plan for the future. He provided me with different options, and a scheduled appointment for a few fillings. I came in for the fillings, and he was gentle and conscientious of my feelings toward the dentist. It was quick and painless, so I was extremely grateful. Came in again today to pay off my last visit, and rescheduled another appointment with Amanda, who was as cordial and attentive as the last few times. Thank you guys so much for such care and responsibility for my health. I feel more comfortable now with dental visits than I had ever been. I can't say enough how much I LOVE his practice and all the wonderful people that work there (especially Amanda!) Not only do they go out of their way to help schedule a time that works ASAP - even on short notice - but are so friendly and genuinely care about my wellbeing! Hoosik Najarian is the only dentist who has always made me feel comfortable, has not tried to rip me off and takes his time. He's very personable and is very careful, he has a light hand and you don't feel anything when he works on your teeth. He's professional and probably one of the most wonderful people I know. Dr. Najarian Hoosik is kind, attentive, and talented. TBH, I don't like dentists; but, I love my teeth. Most of the time, they are just another expense I don't need. That said, Dr. H is more a friend then anything else. I love that his practice is small and unassuming. He runs it out of the cutest little cottage in NoHo. This means you get personal care every visit. Its perfect. It never feels like a big anonymous practice where you're just another car payment for the Dr. Hoosik will take perfect care of you and attend to anything that might worry you. He's a perfectionist. I had to write this review after going to see 3 other well reviewed, well recommended dentists that failed to fix my problem back teeth. I've had the same crown replaced multiple times because of grinding and cracking. The other dentist gladly took my money and repaired the damage. This incredible office is working on building a personalized chair for me, I'm there so often!! I was referred by an old friend about 8 years ago, and I've never felt more educated about my own mouth/teeth! They always walk me through every step of the way, answer any and every question I have, and offer advice and suitable options. I have a very bad issue of grinding and clenching at night, plus I have very weak teeth. Dr. Najarian has helped me through countless chipped and cracked teeth and crowns. We're FINALLY at a stable place, with a night guard to keep my teeth in check! They're beautiful and white, and all my crowns look like real teeth, which is important because I'm in the entertainment biz! I get my teeth strengthening toothpaste from them, which helps the sensitivity. They also clean my mouth guard when I come in for my regular cleanings. They're the sweetest people ever, they're knowledgable, they're patient, and you can count on a goody bag on your way out!! I've been going to Hoosik for so long he's like family. But he makes you feel like family on day one, as he treats his patients with so much TLC (because we're all like babies when it comes to the dentist, right?), so much patience, and good-natured humor that he really makes you feel comfortable about something can be the most uncomfortable thing ever. And that's just his bedside manner, because he's equally skilled with his hands...the man knows how to shoot the novocaine in you like nobody's business, and he's such a pro that the procedures are as quick and as painless as possible. Big shout out to Lilly and Amanda as well, the former is Hoosik's right-hand woman, assisting him with ease, and the latter not only does the scheduling but she's really helpful in scheduling/re-scheduling/ and getting you the most care for your money (and dealing with insurance issues, etc.). In summary, this is the best dentist office around in my opinion, and I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. I live around the corner, but even if I moved I would make the drive to go there. Dr. Najarian has been my dentist for over 13 years. His approach to dentistry is comprehensive and preventative. I have never experienced a dental emergency since I have been under his care. To add, his staff in extremely efficient, professional, and friendly. They are a great representation of Dr. Najarian. I have been going to Dr. Najarian for over 17 years (since I was 15 years old) and needless to say that the services that have been provided to me over the years have been nothing short of the highest level of care. I enjoy going to the dentist simply because of the friendly environment, quality of care and the greatest level of comfort. Dr. Najarian is quite skilled at what he does and the confidence in his ability is justified by the quality of his work. Unlike one of the reviews I read, I have not felt like Dr. Najarian ever pressured me to have any procedures I did not need. He has always given me options and has had his front office person check with my insurance to see how much I would have to pay out-of-pocket so I would know the whole picture going in. I truly believe that the talent that Dr. Najarian has as a dentist is rare and the care that he provides to his patients is arguably unmatched. This is my first Yelp review ever. After a 3.5 hour nightmarish experience with Western Dental, I decided to test the waters with a very nice man I'd met, knowing nothing about the extents of his dental skills. I learned that in addition to being a very caring and friendly person, he is very thorough and has soft hands. He explained everything he was noticing and what he was going to do next, and I'm happy with the results of my cleaning. His office staff is very attentive and caring. Also, with my current dental coverage, he is out of network, but he was willing to work with me so that I could afford treatment. Will definitely be changing my plan when I'm eligible so that I can continue utilizing his services. read more
