Rays can be expensive but they have a great selection that you will not find in the big box grocery stores. I have been a fan of rays since my first visit and I could spend hours combining through everything. My buddy was in the UP and brought back some amazing looking pasty's with baby reds and and beef which I drooled over, he stated that Rays sells them frozen so I was excited. Rays if they did sell MI pasty's, they don't anymore and only sell their homemade version that is available I was told. Well their house brand hit the spot and I now have a new pasty place, I should try the famous north side one again just to make sure that I really like rays better.

Boneless Italian "roll ups"

Every time I go here the butchers are always "put out" they need to help you...today I go in and order over $80+ of items and when I order the Italian "roll ups" butcher says "you know you can't grill these"...I told him I grill them all the time...of course no response..needless to say I only go here if I receive a gift card...even then I don't want to walk through the door...PS mr. Grumpy butcher man here's proof you CAN grill them!!

Alright so this is a small butcher shop and it may be a little more expensive than a regular grocery store but its like a mom and pop local place that has good products such as meats, cheeses, some seafood and pre made and deli items as well as some grocery, bakery and frozen. People are nice here and I enjoy the non commercialized places like this that care about you individually and aren't about the hype and take care of your needs.

I really wanted to like this place but the wheels fell off at the deli. It's a nice little store…read moreand I wanted to sample a few things. They have heat and serve items that are homemade. The deli looked amazing with meats that I have never seen before. I started with what looked like meat sticks because I'm a sucker for meat sticks. Next was homemade cheese and potato pierogis. On to the meat counter and I would sample 4-5 of 1/8 of a pound deli meats. While my first meat choice was being sliced an older blond woman would intervene with a nasty attitude and said no 1/8 of a pound because the minimum on deli meats is 3/4 of a pound and there is signs stating that I didn't notice ? Well I don't need 5 pounds of deli meat for sampling. Then I get what are we supposed with the meat we already sliced and I said I will buy it and was only .520 of a pound which was not their minimum quantity that they stated, I would have spent about $10 more in the deli if they didn't have a ridiculously unusual policy. I have been ordering deli meat most of my life and this is the first time I had to order a minimum quantity, am I in the twilight zone ??. The fact that older blond was so rigid about a minimum quantity and not willing to sell me deli meats that I requested is absolutely a giant fail at customer service. O W deli had no problem doing that for me a couple weeks ago and what a contrast between the two polish Deli store.

After taking a good look into the strip malls I spotter a sigh that had Bbq in it and did a U turn, Pakistani/Indian grocery, jack pot. I absolutely love these ethnic stores with a restaurant in them. It's carry out only but soon I'm told that some isles are are getting removed for a small casual seating area. I asked the super friendly guy at the register to see the menu and he gave me a sample of some new soon to be menu chicken to sample while I looked it over, wow that was delicious I told him. See my menu picture, it was hard to pick something but I went with the Seekh kebob roll and Qeema samosa that comes with two kinds of dipping sauce. OMG the Seekh kabob was the biggest I have ever had at what looked like a foot long/fat kabob rolled in store baked naan, all breads are fresh baked in the store I'm told. The roll was filled lettuce, onions, tomato and chutney which was spice and good, half way through I was stuffed. The Qeema samosa was very good, crispy fried shell filled with seasoned ground beef which comes in three to an order. Wow this really hit the spot for a for a nothing in mind lunch. This place is definitely a Milwaukee hidden gem and for being open with new owners for over a year with only one review with no food pictures. This was such a great find with tasty authentic food that definitely didn't disappoint today, great job today and I wish you great success.
