I love the friendly small town feel of this store. The place is clean and well designed. A great place to take the kids for ice cream.

The worst deli! Always looks filthy and the smells are never good. Just moved to Jacksonville, very disappointed in its only grocery store.

Got My Eclipse Gum & Taylor's Sausage!…read more SITREP A very friendly country store ALMOST in the middle of nowhere (and I say that since the cell phone coverage was almost nonexistent - and without GPS, we got lost, and that's how we found this place - looking for directions!) THE SETUP This is also in the middle of Southern Oregon Wine Country, so there are vast opportunities for people to stop on in here and grab their picnic supplies to do some tailgating or picnicking at a local winery. My friend Alexandra used to shop here with her family when she was a little girl, so it was a kick-in-the-pants to see this spot as a grown up, and to be expected, the place seemed a LOT smaller to her. ITEMS * I needed some gum and I got it. * They specialize in the local Taylor Sausage, so I had to grab a package and throw it in my cooler to take back to California. THE LOWDOWN All in all, a very cute and unexpected stop in a very quaint down town along the Lewis & Clark Trail in Southern Oregon Wine Country.

My husband and I stopped in on July 3rd to buy sausages, buns, and chili for the 4th. While cooking…read morethe next day, we opened the bun bag to find mold covering several of the buns. The date on the package: June 2026. The day after that, we discovered the chili had expired in March 2026. After the holiday weekend, we called the store. The employee who answered the phone told us to come in that week to talk to the owner, Craig. When I went in, the cashier went to speak with the owner, who talked loudly enough for me to overhear him angrily question whether I was local (I said, yes I live here), then he accused me of trying to scam him out of money. His actual words were "SCAM-NEEDS MONEY." He agreed only to replace the items and not offer a refund, since I did not have a receipt. We have been customers here for 4 years and am rarely if ever offered a receipt. When I went to grab replacements off the shelf, every can of that brand of chili had expired in February or March 2026. This was July. I brought the expired cans to the cashier and asked him what to do since they were all expired and he said "I don't care, get a different brand." Many other brands were expired too. I managed to find one can of a different brand expiring this month and took it. Not a single package of hot dog buns had a July date. All of them were from June. The excuse offered: "They were frozen, we add our own stickers with new dates to the back." Except ours grew mold in under 48 hours. We will never shop here again under this ownership and after sharing my experience, it sounds like many locals have had negative experiences and do not shop here. If you choose to shop at the Ruch Country Store, check the dates on everything you buy here, and ask for a receipt. Accusing loyal customers of running a scam while your shelves are stocked with expired food that can make people sick is disgraceful. If just need the bare essentials, the market a few doors down will treat you better. This store is the real scam.

Our Trader Joe's here in Medford is one of the very best in which I have ever shopped. (The other…read moreone was in Santa Fe.). But, honestly, I think ours is the very best. In a time of both "shrinkflation" and inflation, Trader Joe's does a great job of providing top notch products with competitive prices. I buy a lot of things here, including pasture-raised eggs, half-and-half, whipping cream, organic butter, large 72% dark Belgian chocolate bars that I use in cooking, potatoes, organic produce of various kinds, ground, turkey, ground lamb, turkey at Thanksgiving, prime rib at Christmas, artisan cheese, Australian, red shrimp, the best beef bone broth, as well as chicken and turkey bone broth that I have ever purchased, and many seasonal items. I thoroughly enjoy how sweet, happy -- and knowledgable -- all of the employees are. It is such a pleasure to go there. It's sort of like attending a party with friends while grocery shopping!!! I would give our Trader Joe's 1000 stars if I could. Thank you for all that you do for Southern Oregon.

I'm not particularly a Trader Joe's fan. I take issue with the very large percentage of Trader…read moreJoe's items being pre-packed in plastic. Putting this aside , this is a great Trader Joe's. However, I am taking one star off because most of the golden berry containers contained some moldy fruit at the bottom. I'm severely allergic to mold so this is definitely a pet peeve of mine. Now for the good! The store was very clean, including the bathrooms that were sparkling clean. There was abundant staff around, so I could always find help; including when I brought attention to the moldy golden berries. In the produce area, there were at least two employees if not three. I asked about the strawberry plums. One of the produce workers shared that the strawberry plums are wonderful, and because of strawberry flavor, the plums are ready when firm. I had been hesitant to buy them because they all seemed quite hard... but she was definitely right and that container of plums did not last very long with us at all... so good! Checking out was easy Peezy with each checkout stand having an employee present and the employee I was helped by was super friendly, packed everything up efficiently and well. 2026 #12
