We stopped by last night for a pizza. We just recently moved to the area and have not tried this restaurant before. The staff was friendly and helpful and the pizza was very good. Pomodoro's is our favorite place for pizza in this area! We always love the pizza and have never had a problem with it! We are vegetarian, so we order a large pizza with black olives and artichoke hearts! It is so good! The crust tastes homemade, as does the sauce! Very nice flavors! We usually also order either the Greek salad or the Garden salad--both are very fresh and delicious! The dressing on the Garden salad is a wonderful balsamic vinaigrette, and it comes with a bed of mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, and black olives! Yum! Our 8-year-old son loves the cheese pizza here! They also have several pasta dishes on the menu and soup, oh and gelato! It is a great place to eat in or take out! They have tables inside and outside, so if the weather is nice you can sit in the shade of their umbrellas and enjoy dining outdoors! We went on a Saturday for lunch, the place was packed. By the time we ordered a table had come available. Had the chicken picatta and dd had the chicken fettuccine. Both were good. We eat here quite often. It is one of our "go-to" spots. We generally like the food. Chicken comes out dry occasionally, but they are good about re-dos if you are assertive enough to request them. From our experience eating here, we've greatly improved our enjoyment by "hacking" the menu. For instance their pizza crust is top notch, but the center of their pizzas get soggy from too much cheese. Yes too much cheese can be a problem for pizza if what you love about pizza is the crust. I order their five topping pizza and ask them to go light on the cheese. The dry heat from the oven can then get to the center of the pizza and it's 500% better. My wife loves the Penne Pomodoro, but she "hacks" the dish by requesting they leave the penne off and serve the chicken over a base of their sauteed vegetables. When I have the moral fortitiude to eat something healthier than pizza, I like their Insalata Gorgonzola, but I ask them to throw a piece of salmon on top. For a pizza and pasta place they make an awesome piece of grilled salmon! It makes the dish. Other diners stop and ask me, "Oooh what's that? Where is that on the menu?" Hack the menu folks. Ask for what you want and they'll see what they can do. The kids? They're easily appeased with a pepperoni pizza. They ritually lay a few napkins on top of the pizza to soak up the pepperoni grease before eating, but then they are happy. So, basically, this ain't fine dining, but it is good family dining. Great pizza crust, good salads, and serviceable pasta. And the service cheerfully accommodates our requests to "hack" their menu and correct the occasional misstep. read more

I will start with positives, as there are many, and I dont want to be that "disgruntled customer" everyone dreads. Pasta's, sauces and salads are excellent here. Period. Portions are generous. Now for the not so positives, which are heartbreakingly unfortunate: 1. POOR Customer Service. It is hardly unreasonable to expect a friendly greeting or smile when visiting a hole in the wall eatery. 3 visits in and I have yet to see a smile or be made to feel welcome. 2. Inconsistency. Three different visits, ordering the exact same pizza, three different times it has looked, and tasted, different. 3. Price. $16.95 for a "special of the day", is not a special, no matter how delicious the sauce. 1 cheese pizza, 1 pasta and two salads were nearly $50...unacceptable. Tonight was our 3rd and final visit to this place, which is unfortunate, because it is really close to our home, and the first time we ate here it was excellent. read more

upon entering this restaurant, i was a bit confused by its set up and decor. though decorated like an Italian bistro i suppose, it had somewhat of a quiznos feel. which i guess would mean they are on the right track but they are missing the warm and charming feeling i assume an little Italian bistro should have. the kid behind the counter seemed to be of relation to the owner and not at all pleased he was working at the family establishment on a Sunday afternoon... sorry kid, but no need to be stone-faced and bland. you're Italian, right?! where's the passion?! anyhow. my mother was treating me to lunch, so i took her recommendation and tried their fried appetizer, the pompdoro frito misto and a chicken Cesar salad. all, sub par. the app, fried calamari, shrimp and zucchini, was bland, bland, bland. i can not stand when fried food is not seasoned before frying. there is no correcting it. season the batter people... it goes along way, i swear! i tried pleasing my palette with a shake of some salt and pepper and though it helped a bit, it still did not tantalize the taste buds. the salad. how can you mess up a salad, you may ask? well the salad itself was pretty good but the hot chicken was completely overdone and dried out. i was so disappointed by this because when the plate was sat on my table and i saw the steam coming off the chicken, i did a little dance because i LOVE hot chicken on a cold salad. the chicken was so dry that i had no desire to finish half of the serving. since i was still a bit hungry after the boring appetizer and failed salad, i opted for gelato. the gelato was great! they have a small selection but really, do you need 31 flavors of gelato? no. the butter pecan was a tasty way to end our mother- daughter lunch. my mother swears by the food served up at Pomodoro's. I, on the other hand, will need further coaxing. It's locally owned and operated, which in my opinion, earns an extra star all on its own. i will try and revisit this place in the evening. i have a feeling that in the low light of the evening, this place may ooze with that Italian allure I was hoping it held. read more

So I was craving pasta ... I was headed to Olive Garden until I remembered that I would no longer eat at Olive Garden for pleasure anywho, so I started looking for pasta ... When my friend couldn't decide what to eat, our cashier didn't waver-- he said take your time and also answered any and all of our questions, 5 stars. So after everything was ordered, I took out the 10% coupon on the Yelp app-- they honored it, 5 stars. My cheese pizza (small, but huge) and spaghetti and meatballs (which was the main attraction for me) with a drink, salad, and garlic bread came up to 20 bucks.... 5 freaking stars! Food didn't take long, and it was flipping amazing. The meatballs are huge ! They are made from 100% angus beef, thank goodness because I'm allergic to pork (jk, I just don't eat it lol) and the crust was perfect on my pizza. So many stars that 5 just isn't enough . I will be coming back to this place , oh, my friend (pickier than I am surprisingly) ordered eggplant parmigiana and fettuccine Alfredo .... She couldn't stop eating ... 'twas the bomb! She got a beer with her order and hers was 22$ for cheesy bread, salad, eggplant, and the eggplant. Mmmmmmm. Go ..... Now ! Well not now , they close at 10 pm .... So go before then ! This place has it all. Clean restaurant, friendly staff and amazing food. Their pizza is crazy good and one of my favorite places to order classic spaghetti and meatballs. Haven't tried anything yet that wasn't way above normal. And if you don't feel like going out they even deliver! When visiting NASA in Houston, there are not alot of good budget friendly options. This is one of them. It's in a strip shopping center, easy to miss. Although they have a dining room, it's very cramped, with four tops everywhere. We only had the pizza, a cheese and a margarita...both pretty good. The kids approved. The bill was pretty decent and we were full. What more can you ask for. The service was really good and once again, I felt good that I supported a local business.
