Read the reviews and believed that Ray's would be a good Italian eatery. But the food was really substandard. And expensive. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The order came with a side salad and garlic bread. The marinara sauce was tasteless. The meatballs were mostly bread or breadcrumbs baked with beef or pork or both, but, mostly breading. The salad was 1 scoop of diced tomatoes, 1 large scoop of black olives and some greens. Just plopped in one at a time without mixing or care about presentation of any kind. And a side cup of dressing was included. The garlic bread -- terrible to the 10th degree. It was rubbery and tough, the garlic butter was acidic and not edible. If I could rate this place a "zero" I would. And all of this for$17. $17!!! This is the first review I have ever written. That may indicate how bad this experience was for me. I was looking for a change from Angelo's. I am going back. The owners of Angelo's most likely appreciate how bad Ray's or Pomodoro's is. read more

We waited over an hour for a large pizza. The crust stuck to the pan when removed from the oven and tore a hole in the middle of the pizza so they had to re-make it. The pizza was good but due to the wait we weren't too impressed. They gave us a free appetizer but it was still frozen and not cooked all the way. I've heard good things about this restaurant though, so we will probably give it another try. read more

Over cooked pasta. It is good in a pinch and for the money, but I am told I am a pasta snob and the deserts are awesome (none for me). Wish they had more non salad/bread side options. Hopefully some varied soup options in the future. All staff was very friendly and delivery was prompt. read more

Came here based on Yelp reviews because we were in the area. We ordered calamari, a mushroom pizza & a beer for hubby, eggplant parmigiana & a glass of wine for me & 2 iced teas. The calamari was tough & rubbery which means it wasn't made right. The garden salad I had was the bagged stuff you get at the grocery store. My eggplant parmigiana was some of the worst I've ever had. The eggplant tasted like it was fried & then had a little bit of shredded mozzarella cheese & sauce from jar or can you get at the grocery store dumped on it. Spaghetti looked the same so I didn't touch it. The garlic bread was bland with only a hint of garlic. The best part of my meal was the wine & tea. I'm giving it 2 stars because hubby said his pizza was good, average & the staff was really nice. It should be noted that my stomach hurt on the way home to West Houston & I had a bad after taste in my mouth that thankfully, ice cream took care of. Maybe our standards are too high with hubby being 100% Italian. Next time we're in the area, we will go back to Frenchy's where the food was so good & authentic, it made hubby cry & think his mom & grandmother (both passed away almost 30 years ago) were in the kitchen cooking. read more

This place has an unexpectedly nice ambiance. The food is pretty good. When they've had Gelato, it's yummy. I always get the stuff that looks like chocolate chip Gelato. It's so light and nice. There aren't waiters here. You order your food at the counter and they call your name when it's ready. When I would get take out, they'd include a salad and bread, and would pack it nicely. My first visit was last night, and I ordered takeout spaghetti and meatballs. It was good, and I should have requested more sauce and less pasta, which I prefer. So, there was less sauce than I like, but good flavor. Two large meatballs, YUM. Side salad was my lunch the next day, and I enjoyed that too. My only reason for giving 3 stars instead of four was the garlic bread. The bread itself was a good consistency, and well buttered, but the garlic flavor seemed bitter, like it was mostly garlic powder. It didn't taste like fresh garlic and butter. I will definitely go back to try other things though. Service was pleasant and prompt, and that goes a long way with me and my dollar. Give them a try! read more

Ordered takeout over the phone at 6:24 pm- 1 pizza and 1 pasta dish. They said it would be about 15-20 mins. I arrived about 6:40. I didn't get my food until 7:20. For a takeout order, it took nearly an hour. This means they didn't even start cooking my order until about about 40 mins after I ordered it. To add insult to injury, I got home and my fettuccine alfredo was cold. This means it was made early and just sat there waiting for the pizza. That's terrible. To their credit, the cashier was apologetic and was well aware it was amateur night. I come to this place about once a month and it's usually okay. However, tonight they weren't prepared to be busy. I won't be going to this place for a while. It's good but not that good. Can't make customers wait nearly an hour for their order and then compound the problem by serving cold food. Go to Frenchies or Franca's down the street. read more

Pizza is delicious, great crust! Cannelloni Danielle is one of my top favorite dishes in the Clear Lake area. I also enjoy the Chicken Rollatini. One family member loves the Calzones, and they do have excellent dough, but a bit too plain it seems to me. Absolutely great cannolis and Italian Cream Cake! I've always been pleased with the service here; it is counter service to order and then they bring it to your table. That works well for groups, though the restaurant is a bit small for groups, but that does not stop us. read more

Definitely agree with the 4 stars. I was in the area for a visit to the NASA space center. When I got to the address I wasn't sure if it was up to that rating but after ordering and getting the pizza and the pasta, I couldn't disagree with it. Went here for lunch today for the first time. Waited around 30 minutes just for a sandwich. I got the chicken pesto sandwich and it tasted pretty good, but not worth waiting 30 minutes for especially when I had to get back to work. Also it didn't help that this place was extremely loud. Being that I was hungry and waited that long for my sandwich in all that noise, I had to take some Advil when I got back to the office for a headache. The experience for me was very unpleasant so I don't plan on coming back. This may be a good place for take out if you call ahead of time. read more

So just checked out this place & I must say their customer service is on point. Both over the phone & in person.. I need to point it out because these days it's hard to find good customer service. .. on to the food... not a big fan of their garlic parmesan wings..but their pizza was amazing.. you can definitely taste the quality and will be back again for some more. read more

I have been searching for this pizza since I moved to Texas in 1976. Growing up there were 2 to 3 trips a year to NYC. Texas has a few tasty pizza places here and there but nothing I would go out of my way for...until now. Both my husband and I dine here about 3 times per month. We always order in (not take out). We order the large pizza thin and crispy with sausage, pepperoni and a little extra Oregano along with a side order of fresh sautéed spinach (so as to also have our helping of veggies). Last Spring I finally made it back to NYC now I am certain about my more recent suspicions that there is "no place like home" and I do mean Pomodoro's on NASA Road 1 for just right crispy cheesy sweet and spicy Pizza that even a New Yorker would enjoy. read more

Whether we are dining or ordering take-out , the food here is always hot and fresh. The chicken Alfredo pizza is awesome. Dining in is a nice experience, real relaxed , Friday night's can be crazy but that's everywhere. People there are always friendly. Only downfall may be they do not deliver between 1-4pm.
