My wife and I very much enjoyed our meal this evening at Rayz on the Bay. She had the shrimp basket and I had the Lake Erie perch basket. Both were just outstanding! Good Value with a nice view! We went there for Sunday lunch. My husband had medium wings , fries and I had a perch sandwich. All the food arrived together, was hot and with all dips/sauces. Our meal started off a little dicey, because it took a while for our waitress to meet with us to take drink orders. After speaking to our waitress, we found out that they were super-short staffed, and it was basically the two girls and one bartender handling the entire packed restaurant!! Those three were awesome....great teamwork in a less than perfect situation. They served great food, that we all enjoyed. We recommend this restaurant 100%. This was our first time at Rayz and it was fantastic. Very crowded when we arrived but the help was friendly and the food came out very quickly. The atmosphere was nice and I like how it's newly decorated, but with that being said it's not the same as it use to be (when it was Terry's Tavern). We have tried the new place three or four times & our in-laws said they went once since the change. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but all four of us weren't impressed with the food. My in laws didn't like that prices were raised and my husband & they complained the burgers were tasteless. They tasted like "frozen, tasteless hamburger patties". I had a chicken wrap w/buffalo sauce;there was no buffalo sauce on the wrap, but I got some after asking for it again. Again, the chicken tasted like frozen, tasteless meat & it was quite chewy. I was upset that the entire wrap maybe consisted of less than the size of one chicken finger and it was more of a lettuce wrap than anything. We all left disappointed & we have no plans to go back. It's a good atmosphere for drinking, but I'd say if you go, skip the food. My husband left feeling sick for the remainder of the evening. We found this place on accident. Definitely was NOT disappointed! If you're looking for a good burger and amazing fresh fries, this is your place. Looking for a good local menu and yelp led us here to Rayz. The place is small but very very clean and decorated like a clean local bar should be. We got there a little later than intended cause we got lost. The waitress let us know that the kitchen was closing soon but we still had time to get an order in. We ordered cheese sticks and fried pepperoni as starters. The cheese sticks were fine, good. But the fried pepperoni is exactly what it sounds like fried slices of pepperoni. My husband said it's like when you get crispy pepperoni on a pizza but without the pizza. We both ordered cheese burgers for our meal. Highlight was the fresh cut fries. They were awesome. I'm usually wary of fresh fries being to raw tasting but these were awesome. And the homemade ranch was to die for. Stopped for lunch today for the first time since they remodeled. The place looks amazing and feels so much bigger. It's very clean and fresh. The new restrooms are a huge bonus. I wanted to try the hamburgers since Terry's Tavern was known for the. The burger was terrific and the fries were better than before. They weren't as greasy for some reason. The service was good and the price was pretty reasonable. No complaints here, just kudos to the new owners for sticking some money into the place for the much needed face lift. read more

Its a decent size bar and grille with great food. They use fresh lettuce for their salads and not the bagged stuff. Many restaurants don't realize that fresh lettuce can make a huge difference. My husband had the BLT on Texas toast that was good. You have to try their chicken balls which is fresh chicken breast chopped up, breaded and deep fried with all these amazing toppings. So we went here on July 5 th 2019 and we have went here multiple times but the service and quality of food have seem to take a slide downward,my wife's salad with the fried chicken was overdone and could not be cut with the knife very tough I got the chicken salad with grilled chicken it was very tough also, my brothers child order Mac and cheese and they were out after ordering and waiting twenty minutes to be told that is very upsetting past couple times there they were out of something ,if you go service from our waiter was great but the kitchen and the quality of food has went downhill !!!that is what I go for as I have a house with lake front views I don't worry about the view I care about the food at a restaurant !! read more

This was a successful YELP find after a really trying time at our rental unit. We were a party of 7 (3 adults, 4 kids). We were served by Jen S. She was the most friendliest waitress and was so incredibly nice that she managed to turn around our attitudes and sour mood. She was very helpful at picking menu items for the kids and was so accommodating. The food at Rayz is incredible, we had the burgers, fries, wraps, and chicken bites. All of the food was prepared beautifully. This is a must stop if you are looking for something good and local. However, our server by far made this experience exceptional!!! Read the great reviews so we decided to make the drive to Rayz. Ordered a burger done well and it came out very pink, nearly raw. Husband tried the perch sandwich, it was soggy and full of little bones. We sat under a leaking air conditioner that was dripping on us so we pulled the table out, waitress said it was normal. Homemade chips were ok. Might be a good place to stop for a drink and sit outside. read more

We've been going to Terry's Tavern/Rays on the Bay for YEARS! Last night we left very disappointed. It took a long while for our waitress to come over to get our drink order and when she did, she couldn't even crack a smile. A large group came in after us, sat next to us and had the same waitress. They got their drinks and their dinners before we did. Finally when we did get our dinners, one had French Fries that were a greasy rubbery mess. The tomatoes on the sandwiches were white and tough. Had to remove them on a couple of sandwiches. She never asked if anyone needed refills on their water or beverages. As we sat there we were noticing that other tables did not get their orders right and some people were complaining about their bills. They also were out of several things on their menu. Very disappointed, it will be a long while before we go back, too many other options for restaurant choices up at the lake. read more
