Good food and great service at my last visit about a month ago. Took my parents here when they came to visit and they enjoyed it also!

We were seated in the bar and service was ok till our server was given a party of more then 10 people then it dropped to turtle pace. The fried pickles and dipping sauce are on point , the wife ordered the chicken pasta, she liked it , I tried it and the pasta was good the sauce was good but the chicken was nothing to right home about, I ordered the Honeysuckle ribs, and unless you have a pitcher of milk and oxygen on hand I don't suggest getting them, you would think with a name like honeysuckle they would be sweet, nope they are drenched in a sauce that would clear a coal miners sinuses and burn like a branding iron going down your throat. They where slow in replacing the inedible ribs bit I get a Big easy burger instead and it was delicious. read more

I recently visited this location while I was in town & had a great experience!! The food was yummy(stuffed fish & shrimp) as usual but the service was exceptional!! Jayci was our waitress & she was on top of her game. You could tell that she really enjoys her job and that makes a difference with her customer service. We ordered 2 seafood platers and they were ok, but not good.one fellet was s hot, I couldn't eat it didn't have a lot of flavor.

Razzoo's offers cold beer and good cajun food for prices that offer great value. Their etouffee is solid, their shrimp creole has a good kick, their corn is flavorful, and their bread is delicious. I had all that, plus red beans and rice and andouille sausage, for $12. This is really a 3.5-4 Star restaurant that gets a 5 Star rating because of two things: 1. Tyler, in my experience, is a food wasteland. Razzoo's gets bonus points for being one of the better food options for a few miles in any direction... and 2. The bang for your buck. Don't drive to Tyler to try Razzoo's... but if you're in Tyler and looking for a good spot, you could do a LOT worse. read more

Just had lunch here. Ana was the waitress. Slowest service I have ever had. Had to go to the bar for sweetener after asking for it and waiting forever. Asked for fondue bread and did not get it. Talked to the manager about the slow service and then the waitress had an attitude. Took forever to get drink refills. If going here don't have Ana as your waitress. read more

We visited Razzoo's on the recommendation from a local co-worker. We walked in around 7PM and got seated right away on the patio. The draft beer selection seemed somewhat lacking, but I was pleased to see they had Abita Amber as a choice. We had the fried pickles as an appetizer. They are pickle slices vs spears which i prefer because in my experience when the whole spear is fried it gets a bit soggy. I also had a cup of the seafood gumbo. The cup is pretty large and would be considered bowl sized anywhere else. For dinner I had shrimp wrapped in bacon with jalapeno. The jalapeno seemed to be the canned variety vs fresh, but it was still good. The plate was huge, it was all I could do to finish the shrimp, so most of the dirty rice on the plate got left. Wife and I tried the place the other day, and I wished we hadn't. Both the service and the food were terrible. We started out with an order of boudin and a cup of gumbo. Took forever to get these. The boudin was good, actually, but I don't see the point of bringing a "dipping sauce" with it. I've never seen a coonass dip his boudin in anything except his mouth. The gumbo was ok but it was a very thick creole style Filet gumbo and I prefer the more brothy Lafayette style. And they bring you more filet in case "it's too soupy for you." That would have made it thick enough to eat with a fork which I thought I was going to have to do as they didn't bring me a spoon. And by time they did bring one, the gumbo was tepid at best. Wife ordered "fried catfish" for her entree and I got what I normally call a crawfish half and half platter, half fried tails, half etoufee. The etoufee was ordered with white rice rather than dirty and with extra tartar sauce for the tails. Well, the etoufee was delivered in a bowl with dirty rice and there was no tartar sauce. I sent the bowl of etoufee back for correction which took forever, as did finally bringing our tartar sauce. The wife's catfish was battered rather than a cornmeal coating, and she said that while it was a really white meal (almost toowhite for catfish), it didn't have the texture of catfish. Tilapia maybe? And the hushpuppies was greasy and absolutely tasteless. If you've lived in Tyler all your life and have never gone anywhere else, you might be impressed with this place, but we have eaten in south Louisiana alot and have experienced authenic coonass food. Food is pretty decent, very chain style. Service, while attentive, is that semi annoying, in your face type, where they sit down with you to get your order. Its just very awkward to have to "make friends" with my server. It reminds me of "Chotchkie's, the restaurant from Office Space,minus the "Flair". It was especially nice to have a busboy dusting all the overhead bar lights over everyones food. I would have mentioned this to the manager but she was busy taking pictures of all that with her phone. I probably wont go back. read more

This is the spot to be if you want to have a nice meal. The food can be spicy though, such as the appetizer Rat Toes. They can be tasty like their Gumbo. This is the place to be if you want to have Cajun food in East Texas. read more

This place is always so packed & for good reason! Not only is the staff friendly, but they are very knowledgable about the menu. The service was excellent as was the food. We have eaten here several times. Today service from our waitress was not good. Once we were seated we waited and white and waited. Other waiters kinda looked at us and was like your not my table. Finally an assistant manager came and took out drink order and appetizer order. Waitress finally showed up. Took our order. Food came out nice and hot and was great. Love how we can share a meal and the split it on 2 plates and we still take home leftovers. Waitress never refilled our tea, manager did. Food today was great but this waitress was not. Razzoo's use to be one of our favorite restaurants. I don't know if they have new management or what has changed. It took 20 minutes to get a waitress. With about 2/3 of the restaurant empty. We saw her 2 times during the meal. The food was cold. I had to take it home to heat it up so I could eat it. We never got a refill. We liked this place. It was a little too loud but we have been to much worse so maybe they have turned down the music. I had the penne pasta jambalaya which was spicy but really good! Hubby had the chicken fried chicken with the sausage gravy and I would only give that 3 stars. Our service was very good and the food portions are large! The margaritas were tasty but we think they forgot the tequila and not salt so I would not recommend them. The parking lot was full but we did not have to wait. I have seen these places scattered in North and East Texas and decided to try it. The Love of My Life' is allergic to seafood so I was dining alone and decided to try it out. I ordered Shrimp Creole. I have eaten some great SC over the years and my mom used to make a killer version (she grew up in SE Texas). Razoos version was good. Nice complex flavors but they overdid the spicy and overpowered the dish, in my opinion. It was like they splashed on a bunch of Tabasco on it and the subleties of the different flavors went to waste. A shame because the shrimp was perfectly done and it was a nice effort. My waitress Amber was very young but quite competent. She was appropriately attentive and the food was hot, fresh and prompt. Another good thing was a member of management worked the floor and asked how everything was prepared for me. Overall I would say it is a well-run place and the menu had lots of variety. Came close to 4-star for me. I need to come back and order something different and see if I can upgrade my rating. I definitely will be back when I overnight here. read more

I was sent n to Tyler, Texas for work and it was my first time in the city.. After a long, grueling day, my co-workers wanted to go out to eat. Two of my co-workers were huge seafood eaters, which I am not, but we decided on Razzoo. The decor was very Louisiana-esque, very colorful.. since I don't really eat seafood, I ordered a half slab of ribs with cajun fries... Every dish is massively overseasoned with cayenne pepper, rendering them virtually inedible, including the gumbo, Zydeco pasta, Red beans, etoufee, and creole that I have tried so far. It's a shame because the recipes are very, very good otherwise. Let your customers add heat if they want, don't decide for them. That's what hot sauce is for! We just left.... The two hostess were the most unpleasant we have ever met! We asked for a patio table and they responded simply, "no". So after we blankly stared at them we asked for a booth. She said "maybe 45 minutes". So then we asked if there was anything else and we got another cold-hearted "no". An amazing restaurant with true Louisiana flavor and flair! I got the stuffed mushroom and it was very flavorful and something I'll get on my next trip! The service was very good, as well and the bathrooms were clean. The best part of the trip-- the price! A dinner for four was cheaper than a meal for four at Pasados, which wasn't as good. 20 minutes before server made her first appearance at our table. 15 minutes later still no regular drinks. Our section had three huge parties at tables and several booths filled and 3 servers. If the manager was worth a crap they would have come over and helped out or brought bar staff to help. We walked. Told the seating staff we were leaving, she told us we were the third party to walk. My wife and I have been to Razzoo's many times. The food is always excellent, and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the size of the portions. You will most likely have food to take home. My wife always gets the crawfish etoufee and it is awesome. I typically try something different each time, but recently tried their honeysuckle ribs. This place is the worse! Victoria our waitress brought our food and never came back to the table. We had to waver her down to ask about a entree we was missing. On her coming to the table and my mom asking about the dish missing she goes back and forth saying what we didn't order. "The customers are always right!" Instead of her fixing it she walks off and about 5 mins later her manager Megan comes and says she has cleaned the grill and can't serve and more food and went to saying she asked Victoria did we have everything which Victoria never came to check or she would have know she missed a dish. Been a lover of Razoo's for years, here and Mesquite, and look forward to eating there. This time was almost a deal breaker for me on a takeout order. Made to wait 10 minutes on my order while bartender topped off drinks after I paid. Another bartender asked about me, original bartender stated " It's over there" My food had been sitting there the whole time I was standing there. Get the food home and no side items, shrimp/hushpuppies way undercooked as to be inedible, fries hard as rock and OLD, gumbo was 90% rice and fish flavor was quite off. Went here today meet with a group of 7. When we arrived 2 of our party had already been seated in the bar area and we wouldn't all fit. So we asked for another table and couldn't be seated until our friends closed their entire ticket out. They wouldn't let us order drinks or anything. Then told they didn't have tables to put together. The manger didn't come talk to us at all.
