For those who have never had a big project it could be a pretty stressful situation because it involves tens of thousands of dollars. You also have to do some research beforehand so that you can be realistic with your overall expectations in pricing. We began shopping for a contractor in mid-May to redo the original asphalt driveway from the 50s. Along the way, we wanted to add a walkway in our backyard and redo the front walkway and stairs. We had several contractors come over and give quotes. We narrowed it down to two based on pricing and reviews. We decided to go with Rodriguez Concrete because Joe was more personable. He communicated with us in a timely manner and even on Sundays when we had questions. He was able to show us some of his other completed projects before we began ours. Pricing was within our budget and we wanted to point out that he worked with us on getting a very good quote. Once we worked out the details of the project he scheduled us in. A slight reschedule later, they showed up at 7:00am and began the demo. Joe, Eddie, and the crew worked quick and efficiently to get things ready for pouring the next morning. On the 2nd day they showed up bright and early at 6:30am and began pouring at 7:00am. They had everything completed by midday! The quality of work and detail is awesome! I hired this company to do an approach in Buena Park , I paid the deposit and signed a contract. I kept in touch with Anthony, who I must say he was terrific . The issue was that they did not provide the city with the requirements to complete the job . The owner Joe told me if the city requested anything else , he was going to cancel the job . I decided to call the city and inquire about what the Rodriguez company had submitted, and they informed me that they were missing the normal requirements. I was dissatisfied to hear that the company I had hired to the job was not able to gather their paperwork to submit to public works . It was easy for Joe to say if they asked for anything else , he was going to cancel the job . I get it , sometimes it's difficult , but if you committed, follow through . After speaking with the city , I decided hiring this company was not going to work for me , since they were fast to tell me they were going to walk away from the job , because it was costing them money and time to submit the city requirements. read more

They worked very efficiently completing the job in 2.5 days and always left the worksite clean. Joe was very patient to work with because it was my mother and I making the decisions and it was our first time dealing with such a large construction project. We needed to demo the existing patio slab to make way for a motorized pergola (VergolaUSA). I proceeded to start searching for a concrete co and of the three we narrowed down, Joe of RC Concrete was able to provide us with a step by step process of how our project was to proceed. Ours was unusual since the job was contingent on coordinating with the pergola co. and he was willing and patient to work with us. The day of the demo came and the crew were able to remove the old slab quickly and efficiently. When the day of the pour came ( contingent on Vergola setting their structural posts and passing inspection) Joe and his crew were on site early and immediately set up for the concrete pour. (They were there the day before to set the forms and lay down the rebar) Concrete was pumped out and his team got the pour down within an hour. Joe presented us with a design idea to make the slab pop and it was to add borders and contrasting brooming!! We have been dealing with a driveway approach which no matter how carefully we pulled out caused some of our vehicles to scrape. We contacted this company and received a quote the same day. Exactly in the price range we expected. They came out in the morning about a week later and in less than a day and very little noise removed a large section and re-poured. Make them your first call. I had quotes from 6 different companies and Rodriguez Concrete gave me the most reasonable quote considering I knew how much the material cost would be for my driveway. I just couldn't believe how fast they got things done. They took about 12-13 working hours to get the job done. They did the driveway, some of the back yard, around the garage and a small area in the entrance. They removed sand/dirt, leveled, worked out drainage slopes, put down base & rebar and also added the expansion joint foam all around the garage and on side of house. They came in and took care of business. Day one was demolition and set up forms. Day two was place concrete. They advices me to make some changes on my design and it was for the best. They stopped by a couple of days earlier to look at the conditions of the project and took notes. They were well prepared when they started the job. Huge thanks to Joe and his crew for finishing up an extension/addition to our driveway/front yard. I drive a truck and always park on my front lawn.... aside from it not being legal and getting parking tickets I have to deal with the mud when it rains. Creating this space was a priority which also helps with making our house look cleaner. We had this 70ft cypress tree that needed to get chopped in order to work with the space we had... Overdue review but the Rodriguez team did an outstanding job. My wife and I were extremely happy with the job they did and would highly recommend them to anybody looking for concrete work. Following the major renovations for our house, our next step was working on exterior projects. We needed somebody to replace the existing concrete, level and angle the ground so water would stop pooling right under the house (which it would during the winter rains), and add a driveway at back, extend sidewalk on the other side and replace the patio foundation for our family to enjoy the backyard. Not a small job. We contacted a few, met one other but ultimately decided to go with Rodriguez Concrete. To be honest, it was a little tough to finalize dates, but would recommend you remain patient as it was well worth the wait. Keep in mind the high demand and challenges to time everything perfectly in today's environment. Having gone through some major renovations in the past year, I can understand all the frustrations and wide range of contractors, good and bad. But these guys are reliable, on time, did high quality work/finish and left our place very clean without debris or trash. They honored everything they quoted and also flexible with some last minute changes I made. Their pricing is also very competitive and well worth it given the quality and peace of mind. Wife and in laws who saw their work were super happy and loved the job they did. The team also came back to follow up on a small missed area (not their fault as it was hidden under the closed garage door) couple weeks later and also did an acid wash to clean up some blotchy patches (which happens naturally). I love my new driveway! Whenever it rained, we would have to wade through our driveway as it turned into a small lagoon with about 1/2" of water. I was doing some remodeling to the exterior of my home and I decided to finally fix the driveway. Initially I was going to go with a simple pattern, but when I saw the pictures of the different patterns, I knew that was no longer an option. I went with a stamped diamond pattern, with a border and drains (no more lagoon!). They also fixed the steps to my rear entrance, and finished off an incomplete dog run on the side of my home. The entire job was completed in three days. When my contractor saw the driveway, he called me up just to tell me, "Whoever did your driveway did a great job. The attention to detail is amazing!" Then they put re bar in the area to be concrete which I like that idea too. I asked for an estimate for a small backyard project and Rodriguez Concrete was quick to respond here on Yelp. When we made contact and was told that he would be around my area on June 23 and we agreed to meet at 10:00 am. Well, 10:00 am came and went and I texted back at 11:00 am to ask if we were still on for the written estimate. He said he was "super swamped" and thought he would make it to the agreed upon appointment. A heads up would have been great. I posted my project in Yelp again and Rodriguez Concrete responded and said he'd be available if I was willing to wait. That was on 6/26, and never heard back.
