Just dropped in to RCP to ask a quick question about a landscaping project. The first guy I approached at the counter was on his computer and said, "Someone will be right with you." After a few moments, he pointed down the counter and said maybe someone down there could help me, so I walked down to ask the girl he pointed at. She was also on her computer and likewise said, "Someone will be right with you." After standing there for several minutes without being helped, I walked out. RCP has provided various rocks and bricks to support the landscaping of our home for several years. They have helped our contracts with major projects as well as just us going into their yard and picking specific rocks. Trucks deliver or your gardener can pick up a small load and bring in over. My wife and I went over to pick out some larger rocks. They were a big help getting them to our car and helping us load. All your building and landscaping needs are right here in one place. Restored my faith in good customer service!!!!!!! Beyond good customer service, actually. Exceptional customer service! I needed about 15 block to finish a wall. My block was discontinued. Could only buy big quantity plus delivery fee they said. Talked with Kiko Savage (phenomenal) and he talked with the amazing workers at RCP Santee and get this.... they had a display wall there with my block. Guess what they did. Broke down that wall, delivered the block to my driveway for FRREEEEE! With kindness too. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I'm so happy on so many levels. There's still kindness and consideration in the world. I walked out of RCP today for last time. Today I asked the blockhead in the white ball cap and baby blue shirt if they had pavers and he simply answered "We have 16" pavers" and then ignored me. Not, "hold on minute and I will point you to them", or "they are over there", nothing!!This is not the first time I have had crappy service from the staff there, rude and sarcastic must be a qualification for working at the front desk. I really debated on the overall star rating - here's the breakdown: Cust service: 3 stars - ok - I get the feeling they'd rather deal with the big contractor that with some pidly homeowner making (in my case) an $1,100 purchase and asking too many questions. They were friendly enough but a bit curt, Pricing: 3-4 stars maybe? Not sure what to say. I shopped them on a couple different retaining wall blocks and Home Depot, Lowes, Alpine Rock Block and RCP were all within a penny of each other for the same face height (although different brand / design) block. Lowes / Home Depot delivery was $30 less but I ended up going with RCP because their block matched existing blocks I have in my yard. I did manage to find a 10% coupon for them in this little 2 for 1 magazine that shows up in the mail every month - that helps. Selection / stock: Perhaps here they earn 5 stars. This is what they do. A good selection of in stock block, brick, gravel, stone, ground cover, etc. They do NOT carry mulch or very large (4' high) boulders which is something I was interested in but oh well. read more

Wow...Im speechless with how this company handled themselves with me. To sum them up: sexist, sleazy car salesmen. I booked a time for them to come by, have me tell them what I want and then get a quote. I have an 11 month old and dont have time for fluff in between. They came by, I told them i wanted to pave my yard and they spent the time trying to sell me on everything but...turf, talking to me about the benefit of putting new windows on a home AND...and this is the part that makes me so angry in this day and age...they wanted my husband to be there while we talked specs about the project "bc isnt HE paying for it?" I am officially done using RCP! Went here on Saturday morning (5-6-17) to buy one load of rock. After having to deal with the teenage yard guys crappy attitude when I asked him to pick up and dump a couple of buckets of the rock prior to loading me, so I don't get a bunch of dust. Then I go inside to pay and the line is 5 people deep with only one guy working behind the counter. 30 minutes later waiting in line inside, listening to the phone ring the entire time I finally get out and am on my way (the phone is ringing and not getting answered because there is only one guy working). Very obvious that these guys could care less about customer service or satisfaction! read more

We have been working on our yard over the past month and made many calls to RCP to information on materials. Every time I spoke with their customer support people they were very helpful, friendly, and easy to work with. This is our first yard project so they were very patient to answer all our questions and give us a lot of information. RCP had a great selection and very friendly service people. Our order went perfectly and the delivery time was quick. We had our stuff (13 pallets worth) in two days. They keep printed price lists in the office that you can take and there were no sales pitches. I got honest answers and am very happy with the product I got. Since someone asked, I got 900sqft of stonetop interlocking pavers (not tumbled) and 100 square feet of country manor retaining wall block. Both in gray. It looks good now, but will look great after I paint my pink house. read more

I have been a customer of RCP Block and Brick for 11 years and picked up materials 65 times and received 3 deliveries.  I started my landscaping projects at the age of 61.  As a woman who had no experience with hardscaping l was overwhelmed.  I am thankful I chose RCP.  The materials and prices are great.  The customer service and support are excellent.  Printed and internet information along with a free downloadable product calculator for your materials is easily accessible.  Whenever I had a question or problem with any project the RCP staff was there to help me from the beginning through the completion of my projects. Randy, the Manager, often assisted me.  Heather helped me on the phone and at the counter many times.  Dennis also helped me.  Robert is an expert in the yard with the materials.  Alfredo, the Assistant Manager, helped me a multitude of times over the years.  He is friendly, attentive, knowledgable, and accurate.  Thank you, RCP, for the many years of excellent service, completed projects, and great prices! read more

I have been dealing with RCP in Santee for about 15 years and I have got to say. They provide the worst customer service than anybody I have ever dealt with. They are rude. There office personal walk around like they are stoned.. I own a very large contracting company in in San Diego and I have made purchases from $1,000.00 to $50,000.00. You would think these boneheads would understand that the only reason they have a job is because of people like me... The year is 2012 and there still using Unix and Dos. Give me a break.. Get it together.. The manager of this store should be very embarrassed that this store reflects him as a manager.... If you can avoid going here do it... EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE in selection (amazingly helpful, friendly, professonal and patient outdoor as well as desk staff), product (vast selection in huge yard of beautiful boulders, brick and rock), and delivery (they assembled two separate orders and delivered them 100% accurately very quickly). Prices reasonable. STAFF is absolutely wonderful-- every one of those who helped me, including: NOAH and DAVID G. (extremely friendly, patient and helpful outside staff who helped me hand-pick boulders in brutal unshaded sun 100-degree heat), DAVID H. at the desk who helped write up order and promptly followed up as promised in emailing me the order when I had to leave abruptly due to an emergency). Delivery driver DENNIS was friendly, professional, and very carefully offloaded products onto my driveway (and even meticulously pushed product into my garage with his forklift). All staff were tremendously patient (with a woman who was obsessive in choosing just the right boulders), courteous, very very helpful, and WENT THE EXTRA MILE throughout the experience. This is one of the only places in San Diego and maybe the only place in Chula Vista that offers a pretty wide selection of brick products. I've purchased a variety of materials from them for both outdoor and indoor projects and my clients have are very pleased. Not happy with the customer service. First time at this place and the last. I will drive out of my way to finish our remodeling now. We bought some veneer stone for a fireplace. The original cashier helping us out was nice but had me order an extra box of straight pieces and a box short of corner pieces. No big deal we came back for the extra box of corners. When I asked about returning the unopened, unused box of straight pieces, he said bring them back and have the manager return them. Few days later try to bring them back, manager was out. Second attempt, I decided to call first before going down there. Both managers were busy so I left my number and get no return call back. As a female, i wasn't 100% sure how to order the boxes so I left it up to the employee to help me. He made it seem like no big deal to return it if we had extra. It's an $80 unopened box, not like Im returning a pile of rock. Not happy with not getting a return phone call back and wasting a trip down there. Get it together RCP read more
