My "panini" was warmed Soft bread I think it was nuked in the microwave, menu says sandwiches come with macaroni salad and choice of onion rings or Fries,I got macaroni my daughter got no sides. I ordered the pastrami and Swiss with their "homemade" Russian dressing or thousand island I forget which term they used, there was a salmon color spread in the bread but no sign of relish or picked of any sort in the dressing - not much flavor either. Large amount of meat in the sandwich, but glutenous portions aren't necessary. Good food is. Daughter had chicken mozzarella Panini here sandwich was crispy at least but chicken was really cold and no sides At all. Sandwiches were 11.50 each, I work in the city and pay those kind of prices for far better deli sandwiches. Far better casual dining option in red bank. Avoid this place. read more

Food was excellent. I was wooed by a 2-for-1 coupon, so I bought both lunch and dinner for about $10. Good service. The young lady at the counter was very nice. This place has dozens upon dozens of sandwiches on the menu, not to mention hamburgers, soups and subs. I believe their issue lies in a marketing problem. They are equipped as a full service deli, but want to serve dine-in customers as well. This means they need to do a better job of communicating to clients that the tables are more for convenience than an invitation to sit and wait for a server. Creative instructions can be printed out on fliers all over the store for very cheap. I wish this business well-- the food was definitely worth every penny, and every minute of the wait. read more

The soup here smelled so so so good. I went with a few friends and regret not getting soup. I had a Coco Pari sandwich and loved it. I feel like most delis use way too much meat on the sandwich but these did a good job of blending meat flavors with cheeses or sauces or other toppings. I could taste each ingredient, which as a sandwich snob is important to me. I hate having a sandwich which has four ingredients but you can only taste the meat. The prices were average. The service was a little slow but I was with a crowd. The store owner and the the lady there were very very friendly and smiley. I agree that the other counter worker does not seem friendly. She isn't rude, she just needs someone to tell her to smile and lighten up a bit. I wonder what their gift baskets are like? read more

First couple times we ate here we were happy. However, last few, including today wasn't that great. First we had a coupon (voucher) that they would not let use it, when we had before. They said it's for eating in, not carry out. This was not printed on coupon (voucher) and they said that was their rule. Must be a new rule they just made up. As far as the food. The potato salad had a lot of mayo, and was very bland. The sandwich was supposed to be chicken cutlet and it looked like sliced chicken. Sandwich was okay, not their best I've had. Overall: Great food, bad service Came here the other day for lunch. I was greeted right away by the owner- very friendly. The waiter, who I assume was new, seemed a little flustered. Didn't seem confident with the menu. He was unsure of what the macaroni special was. Then had to return to the display window to guess what kind of dressing it was made with. The food came fairly quickly. Our server did not return the entire time we ate to ask how the food was, or if we needed refills. It's very hard to tell if it is self-serve, or if the server wants a tip. Would return, hopefully with better service. read more

Stopped in here for lunch today for first time since it looked decent. Got a grilled chicken sandwich with so called "French Brie". I watched the sandwich being made - chicken got microwaved, roll was toasted in single slice toaster one half at a time and then flipped to toast other half, Brie was the President brand which is meh... Overall not impressed. I wish it was a little fresher and they maybe had a grill to reheat the grilled chicken and maybe the other "grilled panini's" that they supposedly have. Overall: beyond incompetent staff, mediocre food First started by basically all of the ingredients of the sandwiches we wanted being out of stock, which was fine since they have a lot of options. The worst part, however, was the staff bickering with one another behind the counter when attempting to make our sandwiches. No one seemed to have any idea of what to put on each one. We were the only people with active orders at the time and yet they still managed to take 20 minutes...between 3 people...to make 2 sandwiches. The worst part by far was the fact that upon heading over to the lovely Riverside Garden Park to eat our lunch we opened the sandwiches to find they were nothing like what we had ordered. Not sure how someone could mix up roast beef and turkey but low and behold the imbeciles here did just that. Not only did they mix up the protein but they also didn't include the sides that supposedly came with the sandwich. A wise man once told me that nothing is fool proof because fools are so ingenious. This place exemplifies that. For the mediocrity, price and headache do yourself a favor and head to Brennan's in Rumson. It's worth the 10 min drive. Much better food and cheaper. It'll take you the same amount of time to drive back and forth as it takes the 3 snails in Readies to make 2 sandwiches. read more

This place advertises that they deliver. I was in there one morning and asked specifically if they do. They asked where I live and I told them I live right behind them. They said absolutely. I called a few a few days later and tried to order lunch to be delivered. The woman asked where I live and when I told her she said "Come and get it yourself!" Then hung up. I'm handicapped and like to be able to have deliveries. I will never go to this place again! read more

I hadn't been in Readie's in quite a while, but, when I randomly found myself in Red Bank at 4:30 in the afternoon, I saw their "all-day breakfast" sign and decided that I was in the mood for an egg sandwich. They really have some cool, creative takes on the traditional egg sandwich, and their prices are so reasonable for the quality. I had fried eggplant and swiss on mine, and it was great. The young lady behind the counter couldn't have been nicer, and the sandwich was ready in a pinch. This is a great place in Red Bank, the kind of pretty traditional small biz that I'd like to see continue to survive - and thrive - while there's a constant shuffling of new businesses opening and closing. Stopped in for a quick lunch this past weekend. I ordered the Cuban Burger with no bread and a Caesar salad. The young guy behind the counter seemed a little nervous but he took my order. About 20 minutes later I got my order. The burger was on a roll (no biggie, I can take it off the roll) but no chips or pickle as advertised and instead of a Caesar salad I got a garden salad. The burger was nicely done but not sure what made it a Cuban burger. Neither pepper jack nor hot sauce go in a Cuban Sandwich traditionally. This place isn't terrible, but there's really nothing great about it either. Service was kind of awkward... We walked in and seated ourselves, which seemed logical as there were menus on the tables. After about 10 minutes with no one acknowledging us, we went up to the counter to order. Once at the counter, they explained that they would come to the table to take our order. Just odd. After ordering, we waited about 5 mins for water, even though we were the only people in there. The food came quickly after and was mediocre. The chicken in my sandwich was rubbery, and I'm pretty sure it's because they microwaved it. (I saw them using a microwave for our meal, although I'm not 100% sure what they used it for.). If the bill was half as much, this may have been a 3 star place. But for the price we paid, the food and service should have been much much better. read more

Readies is the one and only deli in downtown Red Bank. They have seating inside and a big list of delicious sandwiches and wraps. They offer catering services as well but my experience is only with the in store service which is as great as the food! It's a great place to stop for lunch or a quick dinner but are open early enough to make you a nice breakfast sandwich as well. This place gets 5 out of 5 stars on the Jersey deli scale! read more

Best Caterer in Monmouth County! We had a food emergency and were bordering on a party foul of the gravest measure. We were supposed to bring sandwiches to an annual family get together at the beginning of this month. My wife reminded me weeks ago to place the order but in the midst of the holiday season it got away from. My wife asked me the day before where we were picking the sandwiches up from and at what time and was none to please with my inability to answer! I called everywhere and no one was able to accommodate our order so last minute. Finally, I found Readies on ezcater and not only were they willing to rush through a last minute order but the sandwiches were a huge hit! We were given very specific instructions to bring the same sandwiches next year and no one in my family will ever know I dropped the ball! Absolute life savers! First review of the year. Went in January 2017 on two occasions. First time to sit in dining room, second time for take out. Started off well. Met by manager Tom, and brought to seat. Nice guy. Ordered Monmouth journal panini, saint james big salad and irving place sandwich. All of the food was solid - nothing spectacular, but good value for the price. As we went for lunch a little early, a decent crowd started to come in. This is where the problems begin. Place is small (which is fine) but is not equipped staff wise to handle this. Tom handled not only the take out orders that walked in, but was the waiter. He got flustered....and starting yelling at his cook (or whoever was in the back) in a rude manner. Sadly I was in earshot. I felt bad for the staff. They are nice to customers, but not their employees. Finished our meal and got out of there as quickly as we could. Second time was take out off their catering menu. I kept it simple with turkey wrap and police chief burger. Still good, but no way I was going to eat their as the staff seemed flustered when taking my order (and it also took forever to pay). I get it...this place is a local place with clever names on the menu. The food is good enough to go again...but I would only do take out. read more

I grew up here and am now back after living in DC, SF, Boston, and NYC. Excited to try some of the places where I haven't been now that I'm working here. Do NOT bother going to Readie's. Frankly the taste of my wrap was fine. HOWEVER, basically no meat on it. Literally one little sliver of essentially cold cut chicken that was heated in a microwave. Are you kidding me? I see how small the sandwich is so I ask if they have soup. They do so I get it at which time I see it being put in a microwave. This is at 12:15 on a weekday so not an odd time to be asking for a wrap and soup. Service was also kinda rude. Too many good places in Red Bank to waste your time and money here. First and last time I will do so - hope I save everyone else the trouble. read more

Not sure why you insist on having your employees not write down people's food orders. Writing things down, especially for newer employees, helps make sure you get the order correct. It gets old when you get your sandwich to go only to find out something was left off. If the cost of scrap paper is an issue for you, you are probably running your business wrong. read more

I have had three lunches at Readies over the past month. The sandwiches are consistently good. Yesterday I had fried eggplant with melted provolone on a Panini...it was delicious! Side dishes are very good too - prices are reasonable, great Red Bank location. I have also been to events that Readies has catered - nicely prepared and served. My only suggestion would be soda fountain type drinks...every time I go there I wish they could bring me a Brooklyn Egg Cream. read more

Took a while for waiter-surprising bc we were the ONLY ones there at that time. Ordered 2 chicken salad sandwiches (Molly Pitchers"). Fast forward: 2 sick girls. Not sure if it was old chicken or the 1 piece of limpy (maybe unwashed?) lettuce or if the sandwich was made with dirty hands??? I used to love ordering pick up from Readies until one day I came in early and waited at the counter for my sandwich to be made. The woman making the sandwich had a runny nosy and kept wiping her hand on her nose repeatedly as she prepared the food. Then she was sneezing all over the meats, cheeses,and supplies. I was horrified and did not even know what to say! When the manager gave me finished sandwich I whispered in his ear how uncomfortable I was to eat the food because she was sick. I can't believe he even gave it to me! He said he knows and told her to go in the back. He made it again but it was with all of the contaminated stuff she sneezed on! HOW HORRIFYING!
