Beautiful golf course! I have been coming here with my grandparents for years and not only do they have amazing food, but everyone here is so welcoming and kind. New to the area happened to be the first course I called, upon them answering the phone they advised to me it was a member only course. I asked was their anyway to get referred by one of them to help me get a membership. The guy not so sure of his name he worked with a "Junior" in the pro shop started to get frustrated upset within 20 seconds of talking to me after being transferred to him by junior, I asked why he was upset and talking to me in such a demeanor, he then told me "how about this, fuck off". I called back trying to get a name but they all played dumb. Wouldn't recommend it, seems like these people have no social skills an are very rude as you can see read more

Finally got the chance to get on and play LGC! Having worked in Burbank for 15 years and seeing this course, it killed me not being able to play it. However, there was a recent charity golf event that I was invited to play and this course was amazing. I heard from the caddie, that many of the trees that had plagued the course were now removed ~400 trees which is a lot. The course was in impeccable condition, the fairways were wide and in pristine condition. I've had the chance to play a few Country Clubs and this by far is up there in prestige and conditions! read more

Came here for a celebration of life and even though it was sad the food was good. The place could use an update because it is very dark from all of the wood inside the place. It's pretty cool that it's located across from Universal Studios. The grounds look to be kept up very nicely. read more

We were invited to a pool party here, and it was fantastic! The staff was nice and helpful. However, the woman in the front lobby was pretty short with me. The area and amenities were great. The kids loved this nice, spacious area. The food at the party was catered, a good, all-American spread for the kids: burgers, hot dogs, mac n' cheese, etc. It all tasted good to me- and fun drink options. The pool lifeguards were great- watching the kids like a hawk. read more

Great historic club. Bob hope was a member, the place is a great spot for celebrities. Staff is uber friendly Course is challenging and fun. Layout is fair and interesting but don't fall asleep at the wheel. A triple bogey can rear its ugly head here as the putting greens are legendary fast. My Dad was a member of this club for more than 35 years. Ours is one of the homes on the golf course. My Dad is a Disney Legend and has hosted countless large events, luncheons, private parties etc. at this club. We resigned his membership due to health reasons, not knowing that two weeks prior his personal secretary had already scheduled a farewell luncheon at Lakeside. People were invited months before. We were coldly and unceremoniously informed that because his membership was no longer valid we could not use the restaurant to host this farewell party. My mother even called and tried to fix this for one last event. After more than 35 years, and hundreds of thousands of dollars spent at Lakeside, They did not have the decency or courtesy to treat my mother with respect and were extremely rude to her. Very disappointing. Due to health reasons, in the last few years he only used the club two or three times. I understand the rules are the rules and an expiration date is an expiration date. However, the lack of grace, civility and respect was not expected. On top of that, we all get to listen seven days a week- including Saturday and Sunday mornings as early as 6:00am- to chainsaw like lawn machines. These rob us of the quiet enjoyment of our lives here. We tolerated the dark dingy and dated interiors when my Dad wanted to go there out of respect for him. We even put up with the staff there treating my wife and I and our friends like children if we dared to touch our cellphones (we are both Professionals frequently responsive to our staff). You can buy a membership there but do not expect real class to come with it. read more

This place has a lot of entertainment history.. I was fortunate to come here as one of our client's excutives is a member here and brought us here for lunch. From a distance, you can tell the golf course is gorgeous and well taken care of. Built in the 20's, the clubhouse is well aged wth wood panelling and photos of past celebrites and members. Bob Hope as well as older celebrities were frequent here. Lunch was good here. Had basic sandwiches but service was great. The clubhouse is only open to members and guest. From what I hear, there's quite an extensive process to be a part of this country club. read more

I am not a member but one of my friends is, I play much golf so I needed to state the obvious. The course is in great shape, not too over the top, but challenging because of the pin placements and angles from where I found my ball on this wonderful morning. The food in the restaurant was very good, of course it should be its private membership, so I dined on a steak and fries, of course this was when we were done playing not at the turn. I enjoyed a wonderful course, good company and a great meal afterwards. Looking for my next time there, I will be uploading a few photos, not many but a few. read more

Average club with less then decent people for members. Absolute trash members or at least the 20/30 my golf friends and I have met. The Golf industry talks and this club is known for having the members that believe the world revolves around them. Hope to never see anyone from here again. read more

Been here a couple times now, not for golf, but for events in the evening in their ballroom. The service has been nothing but the best and the surroundings luxurious. There is a gate you have to provide your name to to get in, adding to the exclusivity of the event. They offer valet parking, but it is not necessary since the parking lot is huge and fairly close to the facilities. The food is good, not great, but you are here for the ambiance, not the food necessarily. There is a stage with a decent audio video system. It could be updated though. I would say the room holds about 300 people. read more

Classic, pretty and the kindest staff. I always enjoy my time at Lakeside Golf Coarse. Since I don't golf I can't say much about that, I've only spent time in the dining room and the courtyard. This is a very sophisticated venue with a rich history. If you get the opportunity to attend Lakeside Golf Coarse then definitely say yes and don't miss out. read more

The breakfast was cold and tasteless, presentation was very poor.. The venue is old and dark. Service very poor. The one star is for the views of the golf course,. Ya, and by the way, they will yell at you, even if you touch your cell phone, they have no cell policy, even if you're their for a 6 hour event. I get it, you guys have no cell phone policy but please do us a favor and train your staff not to treat your guests like 5 year olds. Learn not to "sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff" and start improving your food, space and service. Peace. read more

Attended an exclusive engagement here during the weekend and I must say, I was very excited to be there. The golf course is so perfect it almost looks fake! The people were very professional and were great. Lakeside's history shows in the pictures they have on the walls, celebrities from Hollywood's Golden Era were spotted in the black and white photos. Dinner was almost limitless with beef, pasta, and seafood that you would find in 5 star restaurants. The topper was the hand rolled cigar station! Standing outside in the summer cool summer night while smoking an Oliva was priceless. I took the hand rolled cigar home! I know, I know, you have your favorite brand but Oliva happens to be one of my favorites so I was thrilled. Overall, I really enjoyed my time there and hope to be back for another event soon, Lakeside is a class act and they really know how to entertain. It is really nothing less than a 5-star establishment. read more

I had a business lunch / meeting yesterday (08-16-2013) at the Lakeside Golf Club. The Lakeside Gold Club is members only. To enter the grounds you must pass through a sentry where you name is checked to ensure you are either a member or on the list to gain access. Once you pass through the gates you are instantly transported into the land of luxury. You can without a doubt tell you are in the presence of beauty. The Lakeside Golf Club is a stone's throw away from the 'WB' studio in Burbank and you understand that this golf club caters to the cliental of the major studios located in the area. As you drive from the entry gate to the Clubhouse you pass lavish rolling green hills, lakes & streams which are hidden from the hustle, bustle & noise located just outside of the gates / grounds. Upon reaching the Clubhouse you have the option of dropping your bags off with the valet or parking your vehicle yourself. Upon entering the Clubhouse itself you are simply taken back in time and if these walls could talk I imagine they would tell an amazing story. The walls are cherry wood, the floors are hard wood floors, the brass is shining without a fingerprint to be seen and the staff here waits on your every need. The restaurant was nice, the service was great, the staff was friendly, the service was fast and efficient and if you wanted to throw a party there is a ballroom just adjacent to the restaurant for you to use. I have been to several member only Golf courses throughout Los Angeles and this is without question the top of the line. I look forward to my next visit at the Lakeside Golf Club. read more

I had the opportunity to play this course several times back in the 1980s as a guest of a member I did business with. During those forays to Lakeside, I met Bob Hope several times (his locker was right next to my sponsor's) and he gave me a sleeve of golf balls with his famous line "Thanks for the memories." He was funny and gracious to me and made me feel quite welcome (despite the fact I could have never afforded to belong and still can't). This is a really nice course known for its small greens and the fact that it catered to the elite of Hollywood in its heyday. Many folks may not know that Lakeside was restricted for many years and only allowed Christians to be members. It was one of the reasons Jewish actors and executives founded Hillcrest Country Club and then kept out Christians. During the times I played as a guest, I saw many famous entertainers playing who most people would never know were actually VERY GOOD golfers. Some included the late James Garner, Buddy Hackett, Clint Eastwood, Bob Hope to name a few. One current member and avid golfer is Justin Timberlake who is also a member at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA where they play the Northern Trust Open (formerly the Glen Campbell LA Open). Jack Nicholson and Joe Pesce are also known to play at Lakeside and bet significant amounts when they play. Lakeside Golf Club in Toluca Lake, CA and almost right across the street from the Warner Bros. studios is one of the many famous LA area country clubs that makes the average golfer envious of those who can afford to be members. Most recently, the initiation fees were $85,000 PLUS your monthly dues and food minimums. Riviera CC in Pacific Palisades runs a cool $250,000 plus dues. So folks like Timberlake, who plays at both courses several times a week when not performing, not only improve their golf games, they get their money's worth. If I lived in LA and could afford it, I would definitely apply for membership at Lakeside. Unfortunately, I don't live in LA and can't afford the course, so I have to settle for my much less expensive club in NJ. read more

They are chopping down all the big beautiful pine trees! All the wildlife that must have been in them obviously are of no concern to them. The hawks would sit at the top of the trees. It was beautiful. Now, not so much. Looks like crap. I hate this place. I wish I could give negative stars. read more

I GREW UP almost literally behind the walls of the Lakeside Country Club. I was born in 1958 and spent all of my free time "hanging out there". from birth until my 20's.. I went to public school in Burbank but my life included "The" Club. There were only about 5 kids out of the whole town of Burbank that belonged to Lakeside. We "ruled the streets of Toluca Lake and Lakeside. WE didn't know it was a special place to most of the country, Hollywood and the entertainment business (which was really in it's hay day) and all the "Big Wig's" who ran the Movie Industry and were in the process building the entertainment the industry up to what it has become in the 21st century. Warner Bros, Universal, NBC, Disney studios blanketed Toluca Lake. When I was very young and I would play at my girl friends house or her Father's office I remembered a group of men who would meet and would talk about movies etc., while playing poker. My first re-collection of "The" Club which I guess to me was normal. Most of these people (mostly men) were part of my everyday life. Bob Hope, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Barry Goldwater (politician) I can go on and on....I would see them around "The" club and then on TV then back at the club and on the street's of Toluca Lake or Burbank. Because of this I assumed everyone's life was like mine I know now it wasn't (in my head) boy was I oblivious! I didn't figure this out until the age of 12 - 13. Didn't everyone putt on the putting green with Bob Hope or get attention from Cary Grant (that may have been at the 5 and dime cent store in Toluca Lake?"). Frank Sinatra always talking us kids, around the club. John Wayne and the Grandkids. Most of Walt Disney's Family. It wasn't confusing to me (at an early age) that these people were on TV or in movies and then walking around the neighborhood or as I got older and Ron Howard (when his family moved to the neighborhood) driving our carpool when his Mom couldn't. In my teens when I finally figured it out some things were much clearer but it didn't mean any thing different to me. During Christmas at Lakeside there were special Christmas Party's for the kids with a highlight being Bob Barker and his marionettes! Easter having a small carnival with rides and all. Sunday Brunches after church many times during a year. Less then a hand full of kids experienced, we ruled the streets of TL and Lakeside! So it WILL always hold a special place in my heart. Oh yeah I even became a pretty good golfer (playing) on the boy's golf team. Yep Lakeside was a darn special place!! read more

This is perhaps the best course I have ever been to. Great lay-out, very challenging yet fair. The condition is superior. Of course, it's private, and very exclusive, so one would expect greatness. Played every weekend here back in the 80's and 90's..Loved the course with the greens the size of postage stamps. My member friend lives across the street form the club and sometimes we would play 36 holes at a clip. It is filled with memories and ghosts of players past, truly a beautiful and challenging course.
