I was leery of doing the replacement myself due to the pipe being galvanized steel and the potential issues if the galvanized threads were unusable after removal. My original appointment was scheduled for the end of the day the next business day, but additional issues arose at the previous job so I agreed the following morning would work fine. We had a main water line leak and get leak test done and location marked. We first hired another plumber to dig up the area and try to fix the pipe leak but surprising he couldn't locate the pipe after digging 3 feet deep, while he suggested replacing the whole water line which is costly, I called upon ready rooter to get a second opinion and get a "free" estimate of the whole waterline replacement. They came look around and start asking me how many bids I get and how much was the bid, they didn't give me an estimate at the end. While working on the site, I told Mike (owner) about the digging site, he first offered $589 to continue to dig up the area and fix the leak. After his employee (Fernado) stay there for about 15 minutes and turn on the water again to see where the water is coming out, things changed dramatically. He then offered to fix that for $5500 because he thinks the pipe might be near the root which is more difficult. I declined the offer and have them stop the work and continue to give me an estimate of replacing the whole line. They didn't give me an estimate eventually but Mike charge me $260 for the "work" they have done. I am ok if they give a quote upfront and I agree on (like the initially $500 offer) but I am really pissed off they decide how much to charge after the so call "work". At the end, they even didn't cover up the hole properly with a board. Bad experience. Several points to make this clear 1. I did not get a quote from ready rooter for replacing the whole line. I am open to get a quote more than 22k from a different company to consider different options. I understand this can be a trade off of quality or scheduling, I didn't say I won't consider any bid higher than 22k. 2. The work I agree with ready rooter to continue digging and fix the leak for $589 was not done. 3. The previous plumber spent the whole day to dig a 2-3 feet hole, there is no way Fernando can tunnel 1 foot in 20 minutes, the hole looks pretty much the same as before. We had a brief discussion onsite on how deep the previously dug out hole was, Mike tried to discredit the previous plumber work by saying it is only 2 feet deep. There was no point talking like this as a measurement tape will just show the truth. I got photos of the previous plumber standing in the hole and it is waist deep but just don't want to share it online because it has them in the picture. 4. Regarding the $250 discount that ready rooter claimed to give me. This is what shown in the invoice: $489.44 for diagnose plumbing issue up to one hour; 10% discount for VIP customer -$250, so I end up paying $263.86 (including tax). They didn't even dare to write the word "excavate" in the invoice and call it "diagnose". What I agree upon was the $589 to continue digging and fix the leak and it is not done so I didn't expect to pay. Ready rooter owner later claimed that the $589 was just to locate the leak. This kind of gaslighting is bad. The leak detection company that I hired earlier ended up giving me a discount and charge me $450 for the entire leak detection service because the initial location was off and I had to pay extra for plumber and lengthen the fix. The leak detection company inject gas to the pipe and listen for leak, that was quite a lot of work for $450. I wouldn't be that dumb to pay $589 for ready rooter to just dump into a hole, turn on water and point me the location, my previous plumber already shown me that. read more

Got quoted for a french drain flush on a new property I moved into 6 months ago. Adam and his partner came out to assess the problem and were very honest and knowledgable. Realized right away that it wasn't a french drain on the property but rather a well type system. We had a sewer clog in kitchen line. Ready Rooter came out to service our kitchen sewer line and was able to get the water to drain. However when the cable came back with black material all over their cable Ready Rooters Drain Specialist Bui recommended a sewer camera inspection. We explained that we had another company out 6 months ago and company x ran a sewer camera out side in our front yard for $589 and when company x left we had no idea why we had company x do a camera inspection. Ready Rooters Drain Specialist Bui explained in detail why the sewer camera is needed and that he would call his Field Supervisor Jim to perform camera inspection. When Ready Rooter was done performing camera Inspection Bui and Jim gave us a detail report and video of our kitchen line and Main sewer line. They offered us options from a temporary fix to a permanent solution. We highly recommend Ready Rooter.
