The part was easy to find and only required about 5 minutes to install on my own. We were able to get 21 years on one of our heat pumps. We believe their preventative program was a key part to its long service. Despite my repeated statements of: "I don't need you to diagnosis anything. I have no hot water and water is leaking from the tank. I want to you to replace it." Everyone still needed to charge the a Dx fee. So, I had Isley come out and replace the hot water tank, and they keep coming back time and time again. The State brand of water heater they install keeps leaking, albeit under warranty and I keep getting the units replacement for free; however, I do have to pay for labor at a salty $500. The two plumbers aren't on site an hour. Prior to arrival, I receive an email with the plumber's photo and name and a follow up call with an ETA too. I feel they are qualified and competent and safe enough that I would leave my wife home alone when here. Yes, they have had to come back due to a leak but, hey, I makes mistakes too. They wear protective face masks and shoe coverings and lay a thick canvas tarp on my hardwoods before removing the old water heater. While State may go out of business replacing these units under warranty, Isley and Sons will be around for generations to come. When my current replacement fails, I am going to find the water heater I want, and then find someone to install, if I simply don't do it myself. Getting the old one out of the basement will be the tax though.

I questioned them about the service fee. It does not include any service - They should call it an estimate fee. I had a handyman come out and he took out the stopper and cleaned the hair there. It works great. I wouldn't be disappointed if they just took 10 mins to clean out the hair. Jason L from 24-7 Plumbing stated they waived the $89 fee on his response to my review. But that did not happen. I tried calling to confirm but no one has returned my calls. It's not honest to say something here in this forum and not do it.

So, Yes, I could have gone to Home Depot to get the parts which would have totaled about $30 MAX. But, figured I'd get an expert in who could do it quickly. I checked yelp and saw that seriously 24/7 had some pretty good reviews, however several mentions to them being expensive. Like, obscenely expensive. I figured, Aside from the $159 emergency fee, how bad could it really be for parts that cheap? I called and the lady taking my call was pleasant and they got someone out about 1.5 hours later. The cost would be $159 plus any work to be done. The guys who came were friendly enough, and then they hit me with the cost. This is where the I almost fell over. They wanted $587 to replace the fill valve (nothing wrong with the water shut off). Or, they could replace the toilet for me for $1200? Are you actually kidding me? Seriously they were not. Since I already had $159 invested in this, a couple of hours of wait and a renter waiting for me, it didn't make sense for me to then head to Home Depot for my parts on a Sunday night and have it take any more time. For God sakes I could have gotten a whole toilet and a ring and replaced it myself for $150 if I had another hour. Seriously disgusted, I agreed to that price and in 10 minutes my problem was fixed. Oh great, it comes with a year warranty! Awesome, considering I could always replace it for $15 if i needed. (Looked up the exact part at any box store). Glad I have a functioning toilet but don't be like me and think to yourself "how bad can it actually be?"Because it will be worse.
