Unassuming no frills restaurant but pleasant enough to be in. Came in for a quick late lunch on a friday. Last order is 2:30p before they shut down at 3p. Then open back up for dinner. I personally can't stand white-washed food and got my fair share of it living in FL with most cuisines outside of Latin American, so I can sniff it a mile away. I was really hoping it wasn't one of those "thai" establishments serving overly sweetened watered down dishes. I ordered a Singha which came in a frozen glass. One point there. I then ordered summer rolls. Nicely packed and fresh tasting with peanut sauce on the side. My Tom Kha was heavenly. Lemongrass and kafir tangy flavors, subtly creamy with plump shrimp. The white rice had a lovely jasmine fragrance and perfectly textured. Took 2 stir fry meals to go. My hubby who doesn't love Thai food raved about his meal. I'm yet to try mine. All in all great presentation, quality and freshness. Service also solid. The place itself can use some small enhancements to improve the ambience but I'm definitely coming back for some good Tha in the future! read more

I used to come here frequently but haven't visited in a while. Ordered 2 pad Thai to go, one chicken and one meat combo sadly the plate labeled meat combo only had chicken as well. Feel a little cheated considering it was labeled combo and charged extra for it as well. Unfortunate.... read more

Super cute local spot. Super friendly owner & staff. They were a bit busy when we arrived and I think there were only 2 ppl working but they didn't ignore us and they kept checking in with us. I could tell she was running around so it was a nice acknowledgment Food was bomb! Ok tom yum was delicious! Definitely would get that again. They increased prices by too much IMO. $80 for a dinner for 2 is too much for Real Thai. I doubt we'll come back as often if at all. I would rather drive a little farther for better Thai at better prices. That's too bad. read more

I know what you're thinking: "there's no way a place called Real Thai can be good, let alone authentic." Don't let the name fool you, you'll be hard pressed finding a better Thai restaurant in the area. My family and I dine here frequently and consistently have a positive experience. From the noodles to the curries and rice, everything sticks to the Thai formula of hitting all the senses at once. The papaya salad, larb, and nam tok are our favorites. We like ours to be on the more "pungent" side (IYKYK), it's not quite there but it's a whole lot more pungent than several other Thai spots. Dining in provides a tried and true mom and pop shop vibe, as there's generally only one person in charge of the front and dining room. Tread caution when dining in, as service may be slow if there are a lot of customers. My opinion? Still totally worth the wait, and your patience will be rewarded. read more

I ordered delivery on grubhub and the food is great, even after the commute! Definitely would recommend if you're craving Thai food ROYAL PAD THAI - perfectly balanced flavors of savory and sweet. Adding a squeeze of the lime just enhances the dish as well! Didn't seem to come with too much chicken or vegetables but I didn't mind. I order this for the noodles, not really for the toppings. Noodles were perfectly cooked - bouncy, and not super dry BASIL FRIED RICE - also flavorful! This came with a bit more veggies containing green peppers and carrots. Also comes with eggs scrambled in and whatever protein you choose. TOM KHA (with veggies) - coconut milk based soup. It's supposed to be similar to Tom Yum with the way it's spicy and sour but a creamier version of it because of the coconut milk. I wanted to love this but it was a little disappointing. Grubhub didn't give me a choice to choose my spice level so it came to me Mild Spicy. It basically had no spice at all. That's not the restaurant's fault. But this mild version was missing the depth of flavors that it should have. It mostly tasted like straight coconut milk. Didn't have enough sour or spiciness. Maybe increasing the spice level would have helped? Plus side, is that it came with plenty of veggies: broccoli, cabbage, mushrooms, onions and carrots. read more

I can't even think of the last time I had amazing service until last night. The waitress was absolutely amazing, the chef came to ask how we liked our meals and talked/joked with us for a bit which was awesome! Don't really find this kind of service anymore which is quite sad. The food was delicious! I ordered the summer rolls and pad Thai. My family loves coming here for dinner because they are so nice and everything on the menu is excellent. I'm a noodle gal and I always love ordering a different noodle dish (Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Drunken Noodles). Meat dishes here might be fine as my friend said their Spicy Basil Beef entree was good, though it lacked any basil flavor.. but I would definitely recommend skipping any vegetarian dishes. My partner got Pad See Ew with tofu and as a life-long vegetarian and lover of Thai food, said it tasted extremely fishy and the noodles were super rubbery. The egg rolls also did not taste fresh. My pineapple fried rice with tofu is yummy, though the tofu is unlike most places that serve this dish. It's very plain and chewy, doesn't taste like it was cooked much. The last thing was that I waited about 10-15 mins, which I did not mind at all as they said they only had 3 people working. So they brought my order out of the kitchen and I assumed everything would be super hot! No, our tofu squares were actually cold. The egg rolls were barely warm. So I would skip this place out of all the other great Thai restaurants around here, or maybe only try the meat options if you eat meat. read more

Solid food but the location doesn't do it justice. I'm sure that's the idea. They remodeled several months back too. Same great food and drink. Routinely stop in after a nearby Target run or just with visiting local or out of town friends. I like the lack of crowds so we can come in with any party size whenever and be seated quickly. The prices are great. The food is quick and hot. And the portions substantial. Generally I'll even take food home for another meal or two. We've also ordered takeout and the food travels well. Such a minor thing but we've all ordered food we love to go only to get home and it's cold or soggy, not the case here! I've tried a few delicious curries. Generally I'll stick to a rice plate when I'm eating Thai. Pineapple fried rice is the move four star spice level. Sometimes I'll get a boba or Thai tea but usually just water to balance my spiced tofu. Open for lunch and dinner. They do close down kid day to setup for dinner. Loads of appetizers, soups, curries, and rice/noodle dishes. Plenty of drinks from sweet to more savory options. Bring a friend. Bring two friends. Bring seven friends. You'll be glad you ventured out to Wheat Ridge for an amazing meal. read more

Didn't know what we wanted for dinner and we came across Real Thai and thought Thai sounded pretty good so we went for it. Walked in to a line, ended up being mostly for takeout so we were able to be sat quickly once the host made it to the desk (she was doing it all from bussing to hosting.) A lot of not so happy costumers with the takeout. I on the other hand didn't think that the service was horrible, definitely could use more staff but I've had worse. We ordered the potstickers to start which tasted good but we're still cold on the middle and deep fried not pan fried as described on the menu. Then we both got pad Thai which was very good (lacked chicken) but had great flavor. Got this place for takeout as I was craving some Thai food. My better half and child aren't a fan and are out for the evening so I thought I'd give this place a try. I got the drunken noodles and pork bun. They were so good. I'll definitely come back and try more of the menu. I. Pad Thai Noodles/Flavour/toppings= fantastic. Pad Thai Chicken= mediocre at best. II. Pad See Ew Noodles= a little dry. Pad See Ew veggies/toppings=very minimal. I was disappointed there wasn't substantially more broccoli. I only had broccoli crumbs in my meal, if you will. Unfortunately we were not impressed with Real Thai, despite being very hopeful. I'll qualify this review by noting that takeout during the pandemic is perhaps different than a normal in restaurant dining experience. We ordered the papaya salad, drunken noodles, pad see ew, and panang curry. I requested hot for everything. Nothing was hot or even medium. Mild would imply some low level of spice, so that's not really accurate either. The panang curry had delicious flavor and was really the highlight. The papaya salad was truly disappointing. It tasted predominantly of fish sauce, in a really unpleasant way. The noodles in both of the other dishes are supposed to be wide noodles generally with some length to them. In both dishes they were just mashed up little noodle bits that didn't resemble noodles at all. Like I said, we're in the middle of Covid-19 lockdown. Delivery, scarcity of available ingredients, people working in really stressful situations, etc. I'd like to give Real Thai another go when normal life returns, but after my first try I'm thinking two stars is actually pretty generous. read more
