They found that the compressor had seized, which they quoted me a price for it, but then, they also said I have to replace the fan (not broken) +$850, clean the coils +$350, replace the filters (they were changed 2 months ago) +$95. They also charge +$125 to inspect (which can be credited towards any repairs). Total was well over $5k and there was no way. I called another company that wanted to do just the compressor for $4.5k, but then he said it could cost even more if they run into any trouble and I have to accept that. Idk why there are still companies that operates like a used car lot. I decided to pull a trigger and replace my old ducts. I figured why replace ducts only if I can put some nice unit and have not only heater but also AC!
