It's been a pleasure getting my PRK eye surgery done here! When it comes to the surgery itself, all in all my results were amazing and better than what I expected from the research I did online. My vision is sharper and in the 20/15 range and my eyes are more comfortable than with contacts. All of this kicked in within 2 weeks, much sooner than expected. My vision will reach its peak somewhere are 3-6 months from now, so I'm looking forward to even better results over time. Thanks Dr. Karp and Heather!

Let me start off by saying the staff here are amazing, nice, and comforting. Over a month after my…read moreprocedure and my eye sight is incredible. My results are fantastic, but my procedure experience was not great at all and I think it's fair to tell my story. TL;DR: -All staff are super nice and professional -Great LASIK results -Should be more discounts available -Unorganized and excessive pre-op steps -Surgery appointment process is not ideal -Possible improper dosage of anti-anxiety medication? -Procedure appointment lasted 5 hours...yes 5 hours for a 10 minute procedure -Felt disrespected and forgotten on procedure day - - - Millennium Laser Eye Center is by far one of the most expensive laser eye centers in the state. The miniscule "discounts" you may be given at any point do not change the fact that you can go to other reputable laser eye centers and pay over $1000 less for LASIK. But I chose Millennium knowing about the high premium because I wanted the absolute best experience and results. Building up to the procedure you will have about 8 phone calls, 10 emails, 2 consultations, and the list goes on. It didn't matter that my eye doctor submitted my pre-op and labeled me as a perfect candidate. I still had to go through a long and monotonous process. And during these events you will be in contact with several different representatives all of whom do not talk to each other. So you may complete or confirm a process with one, and the other will ask you to complete that process a few days later. They were all so nice, but it came off very unorganized. I think one employee per client would be much smoother. Up to this point, I would still give Millennium 5 stars, but my procedure appointment was an absolute nightmare. First off, you can't schedule it yourself like an adult. They email you the day before and you just have to drop everything and accept it. I was given an afternoon appointment and was told to expect it to be 3 to 4 hours. Seems like a long time to set aside for a 10 minute procedure but I assumed they just estimate so long just in case things are running behind. Me and my brother left work early to be on time for the appointment. We got to Millennium 30 minute prior to my appointment and were called into an exam room after about 45 minutes. Things are going very smooth and I'm super excited. I explained to a staff member that I was super anxious because I had never had a medical procedure before and asked for them to give me something for that, and she said she would be right back with it. My whole family is watching the live stream now waiting for me to get my procedure. One hour passes. Two hours pass. Three hours pass. Around the 4th hour of sitting in this super hot exam room and seeing patient after patient get their exams, someone entered the room and I was given one valium. I didn't know this at the time, but when I told my doctor that they gave me (6'2" adult male) one valium he laughed and said that would do nothing to help someone who was so stressed and anxious. Perhaps they have extra strength valium, but I didn't notice any difference in my anxiety which I'm sure adds to my feeling that this appointment was a complete nightmare. One more hour goes by and I finally get called for my procedure. Yes, my brother and I waited FIVE HOURS. We left work early for no reason, lost money, had not eaten in 9 hours, and made our family sit through hours of exams from people who I assume must have shown up and had appointments after us unless they were all hiding in the back. If they had told me that my exam was at 7:30 I would have happily have shown up at 6:30 or even 5:30 to do whatever last checks they wanted. But I felt absolutely forgotten and disrespected to be left in that exam room for 5 hours. We received no apology at all from the doctor, but he did ask me to write a review which was a pretty awkward moment. I know friends who have had amazing experiences here and they were all stunned when I said I had to wait 5 hours, so it may be very possible that I just got them on a bad day. The only explanation I can think of is that they literally forgot about us in that exam room. I got home about 6.5 hours after I entered that office and had a post-op the next day. My post-op was literally 13 hours after my procedure. I'm pretty sure I wasn't even supposed to be driving by the next morning yet, but I'm just glad it's over now. Sorry for the bad review, but whatever caused my poor experience needs to be fixed or I cannot recommend Millennium, regardless of how well I can see now.

Review based on initial visit…read more Receptionist was very attentive and detail oriented. However, Dr. Seltzer should take training on quality care. Not only did he make us wait (as he was leaning back on his chair) he left us waiting for about 30 minutes THEN rushed to get us out of the office. He didn't even give us an opportunity to ask questions. Overall, he was super unprofessional and impersonal. I should've given more credit to the Yelp reviews. If you have legitimate questions about quality eye care, save your time and look else where.

    * This review is based on my consultation experiences, not the actual procedure. *…read more I had been thinking about lasik eye surgery for a few years but recently started really looking into it because wearing my contacts and glasses were becoming unbearable. I began my research last month and also asked some friends for recommendations. One of them suggested TLC and said he had a wonderful experience. I scheduled my consultation appointment via their website for the following Monday 3:30pm. I scheduled that appointment after another appointment at another company, since I figured do two appointments in one day. Come Monday, my eyes were dilated from the first appointment, which I did not predict was going to happen. I figured TLC would not be able to check my eyes due to the dilation but I went anyways so I could ask some questions and schedule another appointment. The entrance to office was a bit tough to find for me, it was a very narrow road that I missed the first time and almost the 2nd time I went. The building was small compared to the other building next door. I parked and went inside the office. The waiting and reception area was small as well. The receptionist was pretty nice and had me fill out some paperwork. I waited a while and almost watched an entire show of Ellen DeGeneres talking to Bieber and then Shonda Rhimes. Finally, I was greeted by the Patient Consultant, Luisa, who seemed to be in a hurry. I explained to her what had happened and that my eyes were dilated from another appointment and apologized. She said they would only be able to do a simple screening then and that I had to be out of my contacts for 2 weeks prior to the consultation, which I did not know. She told me that she felt bad that I waited a while and I offered to come back another time, I just wanted to ask some questions since I had the appointment anyways. I went ahead and started asking her some questions, and was ready to jot down notes, but she said she'd be giving me a folder with the info later. Luisa went ahead with some tests and then had me watch a video on the computer monitor, which repeated for 4-5 times. Then Dr. Stelzer showed up to talk to me about coming back again in 2 weeks for a more in-depth exam because my eyes were still dilated and I haven't been out of contacts long enough yet. He went over the difference between Lasik and PRK, talked highly about Dr. Aran, and just spoke so fast that I still hadn't process the information. He said so far, I am a candidate for lasik, but they won't know for sure until the next in-depth exam. Afterwards, I was back in Luisa's office. She spoke really fast as well, seemed to be bothered by something, gave me a folder with some info in it about the center and doctors, and showed me a small brochure of Wells Fargo finance option along with the cost of the procedure: $2395 p/eye $4790 -$400 $4,370 After finishing, she closed the folder and was ready to send me out the door. I said, "Wait, I still have some questions to ask." She said, "Oh, sorry," but didn't seem sorry in my opinion. I felt so rushed and disrespected. I get it, it was close to their closing time, but let me ask my questions and don't rush me. My appointment was at 3:30pm and it took them a while to get to me. I was on time, I was polite, I waited, and I deserved some quality time instead of being rushed. She then told me to go to the front desk to make the next appointment. I left with such a bad taste in my mouth about TLC, but I still gave them a benefit of the doubt since one of my friends had gotten his custom lasik done here, and Cassie from Yelp as well. The receptionist scheduled me for 7/5 Tuesday. Days later, I got a call saying their doctors will be on vacation, so the center will be closed, therefore, they have to reschedule my appointment. At that point, I was annoyed. I canceled that appointment. Even though my gut feeling told me not to go back, and I had gone to another place for consultation during the 2 weeks, I went back to TLC anyways to give them another chance before my final decision. I called back and got an appointment for 7/11 Mon at 1pm. I arrived early, waited to get called. A staff led me to the room next to Luisa's office and did some quick tests. She was nice. Then she showed the results to Dr. Stelzer, who came by really quick, asked if I rubbed my eyes. I said, maybe when I woke up, but other than that, no. He said something about one of my eyes being funky, so I would have to come back in another 2 weeks to get tested, and not to rub my eyes. I was scheduled to come back in 2 weeks. When I got home, I made my final call of where to get the lasik eye surgery done and I am happy with my decision. Today I called TLC twice as a courtesy to cancel my next appointment, but was put on hold for more than 10 minutes each time. Overall, I did not have a great experience, but maybe you will :-). Definitely do your research.
