I am a previous tenant from about 2 years ago. This week I applied for another rental with a different company. I received a call stating that they had been told by the corporate accounting department that I had a previous balance with Realty Fresno. I know that had to be incorrect given the fact we had received our deposit back and closed out with Realty Fresno without issue. I was concerned that my application would be denied due to this mistake and needed documentation that our balance was zero when closing out our account with Realty Fresno. I went to Realty Fresno's office off of Ingram and spoke with Stephanie. I gave her all the details and expressed my concern with getting denied for our new apartment. She took down all of my information, including the new apartment managers name and number. She stated that she would get back to me shortly and expect a phone call. I left feeling a little skeptical that the issue would be resolved in time to save our application process. Within 10 minutes of leaving the office I received a call from Stephanie stating that she found the mistake in our previous account and corrected it. She even went above and beyond by contacting the new apartment manager that is processing our application and told her the problem was being taken care of. She even offered to deal with the rental history verification herself to make sure it goes through. She took it upon herself to rectify our issue within minutes of listening to my problem. Screamed and cussed at my 77 yr old mother over a return deposit time discrepancy disagreement, when we moved in to the place it had roaches and mold which never got fixed, unfortunately the pandemic broke out shortly after moving in when everything went on lockdown and our rent went up about 400.00 between 2019 and 2023 .. I would be careful and look over things very well before renting. As far as I have already made a report regarding issues to Washington DC, Whitehouse to be exact which will forward it through the proper department's. I have made patriotic contribution doing research for the last two presidents all voluntary and don't think anyone should have to be put through similar things. They're claiming I owe debt for a property I moved out of in November 2017. They say they automatically renewed my lease annually for 2 years (without my consent), yes even after I moved out and they were aware of myself moving out from ex roommate. Laura from Realty Fresno told me over the phone she did not need my physical signature to do the automatic renewals. Illegal much? When reported incident to BBB, Realty Fresno responds to report and says they were made aware of moving out but could not remove me from that lease. It has been since November 2017 that I moved out, yet they continued to renew an annual lease without my permission. Realty Fresno are slumlords and unethical. They threatened me with eviction and actually sent one staff member to my home to threaten me for leaving a negative review. We always paid our rent on time, but my husband, a combat disabled veteran, did not trust them so he would go in personally and pay our rent in person with a cashiers check. I have rented from Realty Fresno for about 7 years now. anytime I have had issues (as any tenant will) they are on top of it immediately. I have seen negative reviews on some of the staff but in my encounters with the staff they have always courteous and professional yet down to earth and if not available will get back to you very quickly. I recently had some major maintenance issues but they were very concerned of my family well being and accommodating during the situation and tended to the issues asap. Just had a very interesting experience with this company. I was trying to view a property to decide if it was a good place to rent or not, the kid (i say kid because Im sure he was about 15) who showed us the place openly called his property owner "cheap" "lazy" and the property it self "gross". When asked if they would clean the walls before we moved in he said "we'd probably just paint it or leave it... I don't know." When i asked him about another property listing from the website he said "oh that place is basically just as gross". Way to sell it kid. I should also add he was wearing gym shorts, had a neck full of hickies, and drove up blasting music with his girlfriend in the car. We wish we had found all of the negative reviews for this business before we had applied! They use a standard California rental form, including checking with previous landlords, and a credit and background check. We applied on a Tuesday. On mid-day Friday they informed us (by phone) that they had rented the property to someone else because our previous landlords had not sent them some reference forms back yet. They refused to refund our application fees. They were rude and unprofessional. We filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. If you apply to rent with this company, expect to have a very unpleasant, exploitative experience. read more

If I was possible to give negative amount of stars believe me I would. This company practices borderline fraud, we applied for a property, we qualified for $25 less than the rent amount. The guy (GARRET) seemed like a guy genuinely trying to help. We told him we have been scammed at other companies before by processing our applications (along with the fee) knowing that we didn't qualify for the price. He was like "no worries, here we can find out how much you qualify for" hence that we qualified for $25 less than the rental amount. He said "they"(the office staff) were qualified to lower $25 off rent without needing to advice the owner but because this owner was picky they would ask but he assumed there would be no issue. We even offered to paint the exterior of the house therefore adding value to the property. He sounded pretty convinced. We gave him out applications along with our money, 2 GOD DAM WEEKS LATER the very lovely miss LAURA (typical heartless, office freak) called us to say that our credit was approved but the owner rejected our offer of only $25 less of her asking price because they had processed another person's applications and they had qualified for the full rental amount. SO VERY INFURIATING TO KNOW THAT THEY HAD THE ANSWER ONE GOD DAM WEEK INTO OUR APPLICATIONS AND THEY CHOSE TO KEEP US IN THE DARK UNTIL FINDING SOMETHING CERTAIN. We were sure that we were going to get the house. We were so patient with them and it's just so sad that they screw people over. I will never EVER consider renting a house with this company. Not only for what they did but when we went to talk to them in person, LAURA (who processes the applications) was so incredibly rude, talked over me, kept raising her voice far to high to remain professional ... oh and good ol Mr. Garret was far in his corner surely to intimated by Laura to back up what he had said to us before. If you HAVE to deal with someone in there, Garrett is by far the only one that actually cares about renters/landlords and provides any customer service at all.The maintenance consists of day labors who have no idea what they are doing. Their jobs are to simply put a "band-aid" on whatever issue you may have as oppose to actually fixing the problem. They will get you for every single penny you have; Makeup fees and charge you for them. They wrote on my paper the wrong date on the lease, and they said they backdate it from when they consider it move in ready. Then they CHARGE a prorated fee from that date, not the date you ACTUALLY sign the lease.I asked how this was legal and was given no answer. I was intimidated and told I would lose the property if I didn't sign. The property which I wasn't allowed to see the inside of Until AFTER I put a deposit down! THEN was told if I didn't like the property inside, they would keep part of my deposit!!!! Someone, please let me know how this is legal?! This is fraud and horrible business. We rented a house from Realty Fresno for 4 years and never had any problems with them. Whenever repairs or pest control were needed, they took care of things quickly, usually the same day. Also, because we took care of the property, when it was time for us to move on, they wished us well AND they refunded $1,335 of our $1,500 deposit!!! I have rented other places where I busted my hump cleaning up before moving and never saw a cent of the deposit. I also read some of the other reviews that had bad things to say about Laura. She strikes me as a no nonsense business woman who probably is the glue that keeps things together behind the scenes. As mentioned in other reviews, Garrett is a great guy who knows his stuff and Fernando is very nice as well. We would recommend this company. read more

This has to be the worst costumer service I have ever dealt with I felt so disrespected. My husband and I were interested in a property they had for rent the guy that showed us the house, told us it was first come first serve , which was incorrect information, we were the first people to put in applications so find out we had to wait till other people applied and then they make their decision who qualifies better even if you get approved. Well a few days passed since we applied I was told to check on the status by the guy that showed us the house and I did and got told in a rude disrespectful way that they will call me ,it would take up to 4-5 days for the application to process. Well 5 days passed and I called again and Laura I believe her name was the one thAt handles all this application approve stuff told me didn't you call already and I said no and I asked my husband and he said no and she said yes you did someone claimed to call as you this morning in the rudest tone I swear I wanted to chew her out but I didn't want to jeopardize getting approved and she had it all mixed up I had called a few days previously. So finally after two weeks they call us to tell us we got approve but they chose to go with someone else that qualified better because my husband is black pretty much . And what's funny is this whole time I never knew her name till I read all this bad reviews on the same person that I'm talking about till they said it was Laura . I have rented from this Realty Fresno going on my 3 rd year and the house I am living in sudden!y goes up for sa!e,notice on the door 24 hours notice that they are coming in with people to show my house at 4 pm the next day.Wow !like that and I had an appointment that day so the realty Fresno people tell me that we will let ourselves in....I had changed the locks because I lost the key so just slapped a new one in.Well I went to my appointment that I had to wait a month to get so on my way there I get a text telling me that they also have another showing at 3:30 now for the same day,then I get another text informing me there will be another at 4:30.My phone starts to ring asking me where are you? Nobody is opening the door and we can't get in! I let them know if they could wait I wou!d be back at 4:45 and that wasn't good enough so they cancelled and gave me 90 days to get out.Well I have been unsuccessful in finding a new place as now everyone want 3 to 3 a ha!f times the rent and I have pets. Been living in this apartment for 2 years now. The first year was private owners and it was great!!! Start of year 2 Realty Fresno bought the complex. Beginning of December. NO HEAT!!!! I couldn't get a repairman for weeks. You could see your breath at night!!! Recently put my rent money order on mailbox as usual and I get a phone call on the 18 th of the mth asking where my rent check us. Why wait so long to tell me they haven't received it??? So....I'm now behind a month in rent with a fixed income and the rental company tells me I better start begging people for money cuz I'm getting evicted. Okay let's start off that I'm a single mother with two jobs and I have two sons one is 7 one is 4 months I recent had applied for an apartment through reality fresno the apartment is located @ address 2039 e simpson ave apartment B never looked in the inside I just really needed to hurry up and move asap so I had applied for this apartment finally had got a call about a month later L'AURA had let me know that I was approved for a DOUBLE DEPOSIT which came out to 1575 so it took me about another month so save my hard earned money I finally had got all the money together went to pay the deposit checking out the apartment MY FAULT... so I went into the office with my infant to pay the deposit LAURAS attitude seemed to be fine at that moment but I should warn you she is very rude! Signed papers got my move in date 3/18/16 and let me tell you I was very happy and excited went out to buy everything I would possibly need for an apartment! I decided one day to dry by the apartment I was. Happily going to move into with my children ended up running into the neighbors VERY NICE COUPLE who have two pitbulls..The mentioned to me the the last FAMILY who lived in the apartment left a dog inside that was pooping and peeing all over the place.. I was like ohh owell let me just give L'AURA a call.. My call went to voice-mail so I left a nice polite message saying that I have heard there was a dog that was left inside the apartment so if they can please bleach the walls and floors because I have an infant..Well I ended up getting this weird call from L'AURA again letting me know that I LIED ON MY APPLICATION and didn't say I had two children bur the owner of the property went to investigate my Facebook and found out I have two children! I told her yes I do have two children I DIDN'T have nothing g to hide I just didn't know I had to list my two children I had thought the application was only for ppl 18 and over MY MISTAKE yes and she told how the owner was pissed off and she would give me a call back to see wait he said about me having two kids..SHE NEVER MENTIONED THE MESSEGE I LEFT HER ABOUT THE DOG. So I'm thinking dammit I didn't know I hope he still rents it two me since I already paid! I mean what was so bad about having two children the neighbors have pets inside? Are they mad because I mentioned the dog poop? I ended up getting a voice-mail later saying my deposit was cancelled and my money would be refunded I was so bummed out I waited and saved all that time and having to return everything I bought for the apartment was even worser! I was reading the reviews for Realty Fresno and decided that I would write one as well since my experience with Realty Fresno has been fantastic. We moved to CA last year and have been renting a house for a little more than a year. Realty Fresno has been wonderful to work with. They are very nice and quick to respond. Here is an example of their excellent customer service. I recently found that my hot water heater had a leak. It was late on a Saturday evening of course. I called the office and left a voice mail. Since I had the number of the homeowner I decided to text the owner so that he would be aware. Before I could finish the text to the owner, a plumber called me to tell me he was in enroute to fix my water heater. In the 14 months that I have been dealing with Realty Fresno they have been absolutely wonderful to work with. I have spoken with numerous staff during our time in our rental property and everyone has been very professional and courteous. My husband and I have liked the staff so much that we recently brought them cookies into the office just to say thank you. I have only good things to say about them and I would highly recommend Realty Fresno. read more
