Reba's place is a very cool venue in a small Okey town. The food was outstanding! Talk about plentiful, non greasy catfish. YUM! The blackened salmon was excellent as well. The staff was nice and sang well (as they sang with the videos on the screen). Oh, by the way, don't forget to visit the gift shop on the 3rd floor. We drove about 2 hours each way to try Reba's Place, so maybe our expectations were a little higher because of all the hype, but unfortunately the experience just didn't match the prices or reputation. When we were first seated, the table wasn't clean. When my sister politely mentioned it, the waitress seemed more defensive than apologetic and moved us to an even more uncomfortable table. Service overall was very slow, especially considering they were not busy. It took a long time just to get drinks, my tea was never offered a refill, and my mom was brought the completely wrong meal -- she ordered a chicken sandwich and received a hamburger instead. The food itself was honestly pretty disappointing for the cost. Ralph and I both ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was around $27 each, and it came out cold. The green beans were cold too and honestly not good at all. Overall, the food felt very average and definitely not worth the price point. The one highlight was the famous quail poppers -- those were actually really good and probably the best thing we had all night. Sadly, after all four of us talked about it afterward, we agreed the experience was maybe a 3 out of 5 at best, and that's being generous. Our waiter/server, Mason, was great. You could tell he enjoyed his job. He was very attentive and friendly. We loved the atmosphere of this place. From The Voice chair to lots of Reba's gorgeous dresses on display there was plenty to enjoy. There was live music on the stage and he was very good , also. Was there at lunch with a friend that had flew in from Kentucky? I Ordered three appetizers only and water. Cheese curd, fried green tomatoes., jalapeño quail poppers. Normally the fried green tomatoes are wonderful.. This day,They tasted like they had been sitting on the counter for a while before served. They were less than room temperature and not crispy. Cheese curds were just OK tasted almost like something you could purchase at a wholesale place and fry at home..the quail poppers were very good however, my friend thought the bacon was undercooked to her taste. My friend did enjoy seeing the beautiful building and memorabilia along with the gift store upstairs. However, she did not purchase anything in the gift shop. Beautiful grand entrance and a welcoming hostess greeted us. We had a reservation and were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. We sat in a cozy and spacious booth and loved the plates and cutlery. It was country themed and Reba touches everywhere. Our server was attentive at the beginning, but once the food arrived it was difficult to find her. I got the banana bread and burbon butter and the bread was nearly burnt on the inside and chewy inside. The butter had remnants of alcohol but no real prominent flavor. We visited this spot on 3/15/26 at noon. It's so fun! Very rustic sheik with Reba memorabilia everywhere. The restaurant has 3 stories, the first is where you enter. It has a lot of seating and a full bar. The second floor is restaurant seating also and over looks the first floor. The 3rd floor is a gift shop full of clothes, mugs, records and so much more. We were seated on the 2nd floor and did not feel excluded but obviously the first floor is more of an experience. We ordered the biscuits and gravy plate, it came with eggs, bacon and sausage and breakfast potatoes. Along with that we ordered a side of french toast. Food was good. We give it all an 8/10 only because we felt like they were heavy handed on the salt. But it was still very good and we ate almost all of it. The biscuits are huge! Perfect southern style food. On a personal note, I wish they offered speciality coffees. Not a complaint, just a personal wish. The restaurant ambience is incredible. This place is right in the middle of downtown. A town just up the road from where Reba grew up. Definitely a place for the tourist. I recommend calling in for a reservation but they do take walk ins, but be prepared to wait about 15-30 mins. Once seated you are greated with some ice cold water and i suggest getting something from the bar as they have a good beer, wine and specialty drink list. All the food is down home comfort food but i feel it needs more flavor. Everything was bland. It was good but just no seasoning. Lots to choose from for deserts. I had the strawberry shortcake. The angel food cake was in the form of muffins and was kind of hard. Berrys were sweet and homemade whipped cream. They always show Reba interviews, videos or the Reba show on the TV. This was a great stop for lunch on our way home from a road trip. The seating is cozy with clips of Reba playing on a big screen. It was fun to introduce our kids to the legend! They also have some memorabilia which is fun to look at. The staff was amazing. We have a child with a food allergy and they were knowledgeable about what she would be able to eat. The manager even came to see how they could make it more accommodating in the future which we really appreciate! The whole menu had so many good options of just good Southern home cooking. The sourdough bread is delicious and the salted butter complements it so well! The salsa has a smokiness which I found delicious. The burgers were really good and tasted fresh. First off.....when you go to a place like Reba's Place....get the fried things and burgers. Do not get the grilled chicken sandwich like hubby did. It was lackluster at best. So. We had the most amazing fried green tomatoes that I have ever devoured that were topped with an amazing relish and Reba's family recipe pimento cheese! HELLO! Too delicious. Seriously. I ordered the large catfish basket because I thought...shoot! I can eat two catfish fillets easily. Boy was I ever WRONG! The portions are huge here. Just trust me on that. It felt like this could be so much more than it really is. The food was fine, although a bit expensive for both the area as well as what many Reba fans may be used to? Her roots may be from this area, but the prices are not! A 4pm closing most nights tells you locals aren't eating here. In looking at past reviews, it looks like the neon on the Reba sign's "R" has been broken since at least June. You would think after nearly half a year they would want to get that fixed? I have gone to Reba's place twice now, driving between Arkansas and Texas. The first time I would have given it 5 stars, but the second time it was a 3. WE sat at the bar the first time and had the loaded tater tots and split the cherry cola BBQ burger with fries. It was really good. Oh, and the mimosas were great. At the second stop, we ordered the same thing as I was with someone else, and I was so pleased with what we got on our first trip, I wanted them to have the same experience. The tater tots were over-seasoned, and so were the fries. I had to ask for a few unseasoned fries bc I just couldn't eat any of them. We left over half of the loaded tater tots due to the same reason. I was disappointed, but I still will go back again. The burgers are definitely big enough to split! I've been here for breakfast about 8 times, always on a Sunday morning - I've never waited longer than 5 minutes for a table, I've never had less than flawless service, and the food is always consistent and delicious. My husband and I had a wonderful weekend in Wilburton, Oklahoma with friends and they just raved about Reba's!! So when in Rome...or Oklahoma. The building is old timey and in Atoka's downtown. So quaint and beautiful, loved the area!! Parking is all diagonal and wasn't too crazy for a Sunday afternoon luckily. Lots of cutesy shops and I'm not sure if it was the owner but a lovely, elderly gentleman ran out of the candy shop next door to give us a candy cane and chatted for a bit. Super sweet of him!! Okay back to Reba. The hostesses were very welcoming and did their best to accommodate my leg situation so got a table on the second floor and luckily they have an elevator if anybody is unable to tackle the stairs. Downstairs dining area includes the bar and a stage for live music. The establishment itself is all decked out with Reba memorabilia and there is even a chair that's an exact replica of the Voice! Super cool! Our waitress was super sweet and immediately poured us waters in very cute little ceramic cups. Has a thumb print and everything, my husband was elated about that small detail for some reason. Haha. The menu itself is classy and simple. We were not starving as we just wanted to stop in and see what the fuss was about. Okay onto the food!! We ordered the banana bread with bourbon butter and split a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The bread came oh so warm and it was a large portion, we were pleasantly surprised!! The butter was a perfect touch, not very bourbon in case you're worried about that, truly perfect. The steak was crunchy and the mashed potatoes were creamy and so friggin' good!! The green beans could've stood alone because they were def fresh and we loved every bit of it!! Great service, amazing food, and fantastic atmosphere if you're a Reba fan!! The kids' menu has steak on it and love that the prices were so affordable for all the food you get. Tried to get in on our way north on Friday about 1:00. Busy, a small gathering waiting and were told 15 minute wait. No one was seated in that 15 minute wait so we asked about reservations. Great! They take them! On the way back south we called and made a reservation for 2 at 2:00 on a Sunday. Arrived ten minutes early and was told they were clearing some tables and it would be just a couple of minutes. TWENTY minutes later we are still waiting. Several empty tables. We watched some very over cooked food be delivered and listened to about 10 minutes of a very sad karaoke band before we decided to get back on the road. Very disappointing. It's well worth a little detour to go to Reba's place. I think it's actually inside one of the oldest buildings in eastern Oklahoma, which was once a Masonic Lodge three stories gift shop on the third floor additional eating area on the second floor and a wonderful ancient very long bar on the ground floor. The bar is sufficiently stocked with almost anything that's normal that you could wish for Reba's platinum items are displayed on the walls as well as some of the outfits and display cases to give shop has some pretty cool T-shirts and some cookbooks and some things like that you should go The food was good and prompt and in adequate quantity. A return visit for us but was a late Sunday afternoon and place pretty empty. I always perfer a little more excitment so keep that in mind. Even though only 1 LG group and 3 small, we were sit at a small table that could barely hold your elbows ! So if your only 2 but like to order food ask for a 4 topper. We ordered the cherry coke hamburger that comes with really good bacon and onions. We split this so we could order starters. You have to have fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese and chow chow. This time we tried the chicken Jalapeno poppers, good. We also ordered the Banana bread starter, but saved it for our desert with the smooth whipped butter. We were so much more satisfied with this visits food. I have tried the chicken fry and the Bbq brisket they use to have on menu. Disliked them both. I had such an amazing experience here! From the warm welcome to the incredible service, it was such a fun stop. There are three levels total. The first two are for dining and the third level is the library and gift shop. Definitely check out the gift shop and all the cool Reba themed items. I ordered the catfish and fries and the fish was so fresh and they were large pieces of fish. Not the tiny fillets other places try and give you. When they say fresh cut fries, they mean it. You could tell they were fresh cut. They were thick fries which are my preference and I found it all to be amazing! My plan was to try the bread pudding but I was stuffed and couldn't eat anything else. I'll have to try it on my next drive through. For drinks, I had the Red Headed Rita, Kicks Like Mule, and How Blue. My first two drinks were really good! I didn't care for the How Blue. But that's because I'm not a fan of super sweet drinks. But that's what happens when you ask the bar tender to surprise you lol. If you prefer a sweet, fruity drink you'll absolutely love the How Blue. The bartender said it's her favorite. One of the best things I experienced was I got to see Reba's sister, Susie, perform with her husband, Mark and long time friend and producer Clay Edwards. They introduced themselves to me and were so kind and genuine, making the experience even more special. My daughter and I stopped in as we were passing through. We LOVED IT. Yes, you are paying for the experience, but the food was really good too. We started with the Chicken and Bacon Jalapeño Poppers. There were 6, and they were huge. We ate one and boxed the rest to save room for our meal. I had the Chicken Fried Steak. It came with mashed potatoes (no skins, thank goodness!), smothered in gravy, with a side of fresh green beans. I will admit, the green beans were my least favorite, but everything else was yummy. And sooo much food! I ordered the half CFS, and barely ate half of that. Had to save room for dessert! Daughter had the French Dip. It came with this mountainous pile of thick fries. She said it was the best French Dip she has ever had. By the way, they brought water to the table in the very beginning, and I know this is an odd thing to comment, but it was super cold. The little pottery-like mugs kept it super cold. They should sell those mugs in the gift shop with the logo engraved in them because I would totally buy those. Moving on to dessert. So much to choose from, and we barely had room for it, but we ordered the peach and the apple fried pies with vanilla ice cream. They were good. It is strange that it is served with a paper napkin under it. Remove it before eating because it will get torn up. The staff was wonderful as well. Our waitress was very nice, and I appreciated her honesty when I inquired about the tater tots, which are not what Reba was serving up to her Voice contestants. After lunch, we decided to go to the 2nd floor and look at more Reba memorabilia, then on to the 3rd floor to the gift shop. Don't worry, there's an elevator. The sales lady in the gift shop was super cool. We each bought a t-shirt, and I got one of Reba's books, which includes recipes from the restaurant. Also, the tissue paper has the music of Amazing Grace. I thought that was a cool detail. And you can pay a little extra for a signed copy. Of course I did! All in all, the experience really turned a crappy week into a memorable experience with my daughter. We stopped here for lunch on our way home from Thanksgiving in Dallas. We expected the food to be okay but it turned out to be really great! I had a burger with tots and my husband had a French dip with tots. They both were better than we expected! The service was super friendly and fast. Very attentive. We declined dessert since we had so much over Thanksgiving but they gave us complimentary shortbread chocolate chip sea salt and cranberry cookies so of course we had to eat them! First time visit, drove two hours today for my wife's birthday. We'll worth the drive. Arrived around 145 pm, and there was about a 30 minute wait. We were able to sit at the bar though with no wait. Went there for lunch. It did not seem busy, as we sat on the first floor, which does not have a lot of tables. Service was excellent, I don't recall the name of the young girl that helped us, but she was very pleasant and went out of her way to make sure that we got we needed. We both had the Cheerry Coke burger, which was good. That is a signature item there. They insist on cooking the burger medium well for health precautions. It was still enjoyable, although had I been paying attention. I would've insisted on medium rare. Fries were homestyle fries, which were good but nothing special. After the meal, we went upstairs and looked at the second floor. It was rather crowded. I did not realize that there was, that many dining in the establishment. Then we went to the third floor, which was their gift shop. we bought a pint glass just for memory sake. Looked around, there were some interesting things in there. I have to give Reba credit because coming into Atoka, there was almost 0 signs advertising Reba's place. and right before you turn down the main street to get to the restaurant, again there was minimal signs and the building blends into the neighborhood and I think she knew that people would show up even without her advertising, because she didn't wanna make it into a three ring circus. In a small town like Atoka, your options on a Memorial Day evening are pretty limited. But thankfully, Reba's Place was open! High ceilings, spacious seating, one big screen television playing country music videos contribute to the vibe. Reba wasn't here but tons of her memorabilia covered the walls. I went with iron Monk 1890 blonde/golden ale and the "Cherry Coke BBQ Burger" ($19.00) A 1/2 pound angus beef patty on a freshly baked bun, with brown sugar candied bacon, smoked cheddar cheese, haystack fried onion and jalapeño, and a cherry Coke BBQ sauce. The burger was delicious! Slightly over the medium that I requested. The bun was sturdy but tough. Not the pillowy soft bun that I imagined. The fries were freshly cut, plentiful and served hot and nicely seasoned. Watch your speed driving thru town because "The Man" won't hesitate to pull you over. Had heard that the chicken fried steak was supposed to be among the best anywhere so we made a trip up 75 from the Choctaw Resort. Not super busy for a mid-afternoon on a Friday, but as time went on, the dining room filled. Sat at the bar and friendly Rachel was welcoming, patient and helpful. She ranked the favorites chicken fried steak, cherry Coke burgers and catfish. We took her advice. We ordered the chicken fried steak and the catfish. And as we were there, every tray that passed had either one or both of those entrees on it. The chicken fried steak was HUGE. Also hot and fresh. It's a 10/10 and I'd put it in the top 5 in the whole state.... Didn't disappoint at all. The catfish was also hot and delicious. Can't say which was better. Would order both again. They offered two 2-bite cookies afterward and those were great as well. All in all, I'd return and would suggest it to anyone in the area. Beer was good. Service was better. Good was best. read more
