    I own rental properties in the area and have used Genaro in the past on my rental properties as well as my home. Initially Genaro came off as a good trust worthy guy and very friendly however I came to realize after working with him repeatedly that this was not the case and he in my opinion was dishonest, his communication was terrible, and he was very unethical when it came to owning up to his mistakes. The details: I repeatedly had Genaro not show up to appointments with no notice to me. I would have to find out by tenants the next day. When confronted Genaro would often have excuses of various kinds- his employees quit, he or they had an emergency etc etc.. which because of how frequent the excuses were I began to not believe them but nevertheless because he seemed nice otherwise I decided to give the benefit of the doubt. On the times he did not have an excuse for the no show he would tell me his tech showed up but no one answered the door(mind you this was sometimes at my tenants homes at which I was not present). When I would ask if his techs had called me upon arrival he would tell me no, and have no reasonable response as to why an employee would drive all the way to a site but not do something as simple as call the owner if there was no response at the door. I finally lost my patience with him after he had been to my home numerous times for a repeated HVAC issue. He had charged me numerous times for random work and circuits burning- each time different reasoning. He finally had the audacity to tell me there had been a short on the thermostat wiring in the wall which needed replacing but failed to allude to the fact that he had charged me for repeated work regarding this exact issue that we are now finally root causing, I decided to let him go ahead and replace the wire once again giving the benefit of the doubt but which some big concerns about the quality of his techs and him. It may be hard to believe but even after moving my pregnant wife out of the house during the heat and notifying him that we would be out while this is getting resolved. He canceled one day due to employee emergency quit, missed another day due to "being backed up", and finally missed another day due to the old "employee showed up but no one responded to the door". I called him out at this point but Genaro did not display a strong character once again - he refused to acknowledge the pattern of excuses, failed to own up to bad work, failed to then make things right by addressing the issue. He quickly got angry and decided he was going to go the "you're being disrespectful" route because he was called out. That's fine by me, maybe court will see this situation differently Edit: To respond to the owners response below. You claim my claim is untrue but where did prove that you contacted me? Because that's a flat out lie and you know that. The very obvious thing to point to here is that you have technicians that show up to jobs, drive the distance, but then cannot simply make a phone call to the owner or person who scheduled the visit. To claim a tech showed up multiple times ...while no calls were made just fails the common sense- why not just contact the owner On top of that you fail to mention as to why after several visits in a period of more than a year you find a short in the thermostat wire that of course had been the culprit all along prior to replacing g transformers, boards etc. I'm an engineer for living but you don't have to be an engineer to know that shorts are the first things you check for when debugging electrical issues, especially ones that cause burned transformers. To claim I had not made payments on time is correct but to claim that this was somehow an issue that was brought up is also a lie as I literally don't have a single message or email or letter regarding this issue and the moment I was made aware by the owner I paid the invoices within minutes. This was clearly exaggerated on the response to build some justification for the service Overall, if the owner was interested in making the issue right he would have acknowledged that they should have at least called instead of just showing up and leaving after a knock. Instead he was more concerned with his ego when he got riled up about his own failures and being called out. That's poor character and poor leadership- I would never want to have people like that servicing my businesses or home. To be very frank here I should have cut Genaro out long ago and me raising my voice after dealing with his BS for over a year is the least he could of tolerated from a customer that had paid several times to resolve an issue that they kept literally sending teenagers(family members) for and were clearly not addressing the issue. Short fuse I guess because of I were the owner I would of listened to the customers frustration and have owned up to it especially knowing the bs I put him though

    AC unit

    After finding out that I needed a new A/C unit I began getting quotes. I soon found out getting a new electric HVAC heat pump system would be almost the same price as the AC only purchase due to the energy rebates being offered from SMUD and the state of CA. Rebel Air had the best selection and price of heat pumps from various manufacturers. They did a quality assessment of my home and did an excellent job of installing my new HVAC system. I upgraded my AC unit from a 2.5 to a 3 ton unit which required new wiring for upgrading the Amps going to the breaker box as well as a new pad for the larger AC unit. Genaro and his team were very efficient without compromising the quality of the work in completing the installation in less than two days. I highly recommend you consider Rebel Air.

    I will preface this review by saying that this company is responsive and will get a tech out there…read morequickly. But unless you need a simple, residential fix of your HVAC system, they won't bother to service you. I had a tech from Rey's come out a couple weeks ago and after looking at the condenser for Gree mini split that was experiencing an H5 error, the tech just didn't want to diagnose it and look at fixing the unit as he felt it "was too complicated" for as he stated, they only do residential HVAC systems. My unit is part of an apartment complex which is classed as commercial, but HVAC systems are HVAC systems and a company like this one and with their reputation, should be able to fix this. I will also grant that the system is 10 years old. But I had another tech come and was able to diagnose the issue within 30 minutes and found that I just needed to replace a couple temperature sensors that cost a total of $100 and got it up and operational within an hour. Also, the reason I contacted them is that they are listed as a Gree certified partner vendor. He also complained that they used to go out of their way to service customers but got burned or ended up spending too much time and resources, so they now decline service that they consider not "worth their time and effort". When I hear this, I believe this is a company that grew too big and now only focuses on things they can fix easily and will avoid things they consider too difficult. But then my fix was actually pretty easy. Just be aware of their current business state and make sure your fix is easy, but then why bother I guess? Good luck with this contractor...

Before making a decision, I got multiple quotes from different companies around Sacramento. Atticman wasn't the cheapest quote we received but they also weren't the most expensive. They came in right in the middle and after comparing everything that was included, I honestly felt they offered the best overall value. The sales representative who came to our home was knowledgeable, patient and never made us feel pressured. He took the time to answer all of our questions, explained the differences between the equipment options, and went over the warranties in detail. The quality of the products Atticman installs, combined with their excellent warranty, gave us a lot of confidence that we were making the right investment. Another thing that really stood out to us was that Atticman is a locally owned and operated company that has been serving the Sacramento area for around 10 years. Learning that the owner graduated from El Camino High School and has lived in Sacramento his entire life made us feel even better about choosing them. Supporting a local business that truly cares about the community was important to us. On installation day, the crew arrived exactly when they said they would. They immediately got to work and worked incredibly hard throughout the entire day. Everyone on the crew was professional, respectful of our home, and kept the work area clean. Once the installation was complete, they walked us through the new system, answered every question we had, and made sure we were completely comfortable before leaving. Our new system has been running flawlessly ever since. The comfort in our home has improved dramatically and we couldn't be happier with our decision. The workmanship was top notch but what impressed us just as much was the customer service. Every member of the crew was friendly, courteous and genuinely cared about doing a great job. One of the things we also learned is that Atticman doesn't just install heating and air conditioning systems but they also do attic insulation. After seeing the quality of their work and how well they treated us throughout this project, we'll definitely be calling them back when we're ready to upgrade our attic insulation as well.     I chose this company to install new HVAC systems in my home approximately one year ago and have…read moremaintained a service agreement with them for several years. The issue that ultimately caused me to end the relationship was not a major equipment failure, nor was it about the cost of a repair. It was about trust. One of the return air grilles installed as part of the new HVAC installation cannot be closed and latched without applying significant force due to interference between the latch and the frame. I raised this issue during the last two scheduled maintenance visits following the installation, provided photographs, and explained my concerns regarding long-term operation and safety. The grille serves as an access point for routine filter replacement and is located in an upstairs hallway immediately adjacent to an open two-story foyer. Routine filter changes and grille operation therefore require the use of a ladder in close proximity to a significant vertical drop. Given that this maintenance task will be performed repeatedly over the 15-20 year life of the system, I believe the grille should operate smoothly and without excessive force. During both maintenance visits, I was told that the condition was acceptable. When I later provided photographs and requested an estimate to correct the issue, the company provided a quote of approximately $330. The dollar amount was never the issue. In fact, the relatively modest cost of the repair only reinforced my disappointment. What concerned me was that a readily observable and repeatable operational issue was consistently treated as an acceptable operating condition rather than as a workmanship concern worthy of further consideration. To me, the grille itself is not the real issue. It simply became the reason I began questioning the company's workmanship standards and willingness to stand behind its work. If there is disagreement over a readily observable and repeatable operational issue that can be experienced, photographed, and evaluated, it naturally raises questions about the quality of work that is not visible to the homeowner. Whether those concerns are ultimately justified or not, trust is an essential part of any long-term service relationship. My dissatisfaction is not with any single interaction but with the company's consistent position that this condition is acceptable and its unwillingness to take ownership of a concern that I believe reflects its workmanship standards. As a result, I have decided to cancel my maintenance agreement and move my business elsewhere. There are many HVAC companies available, and I prefer to work with one that demonstrates a stronger commitment to standing behind its work and maintaining customer confidence.

Still, they talked us into sticking with them and signing up for recurring maintenance program for "discounts" and covered service. Worst decision ever. Every single time I call trying to schedule service they never have anything for 1.5-2 months out - even though we pay a membership every month and are promised "priority scheduling". The services are over priced so that they lie about giving you "the member discount". They even states I needed to re-do stuff I've done on the prior service as if it was never done previously- liars, trying to sell unnecessary work. Finally, a local person is never available to talk to on the phone. You always get transferred to a third party person who doesn't care at all. I just want a refund for the 6 months paid of membership that I won't use, and cancel this nonsense. Never again. Stay away! they tell us you have priority for scheduling maintenance bit you don't
