This was a great surprise! We came here to go to da bead shop, we parked right in front of this restaurant before they opened, on the way back they had opened up. We each got something different my favorite was the cheesesteak ! The bread is amazing (they make their own bread and you can tell) I added their own spicy mustard and it took the sandwich to the next level, My sister has the mushroom burger and she loved it too. No matter how hard I tried, it seems that our food just disappears within 5 minutes. I LOVE their Coconut Curry. Big chunks of Ono, plump shrimp, and mouth watering curry sauce. I just cannot resist. We ventured here for a change in our typical Hawaiian dining experience and were pleasantly surprised. It is a small location with locally sourced foods. We were greeted and seated promptly and our server, Maddie, was very friendly. I had the Ono and Shrimp Curry upon her recommendation, and it was delicious. Four of us braved the rain to have a lovely meal out tonight. Great food (falafel, chicken and other salads), local IPA, sparkling and red wine plus desserts were on our minds. If you are vegetarian and you are here to have the veggie garlic pasta with fried broccoli, that's not on menu any more. Have added the latest menu. The Cajun pasta they served was tasteless, they added more of the Cajun butter, and it was quite tasty after that. They tout their lilikoi cheesecake is best in the world, and it was so tasteless that you can never guess the flavor. The service was quick relatively, their bathroom has no lock! Checked out Rebel in the Kona area after hearing about it on TV for their hot sauce. The vibe is super relaxed and definitely has that local charm. The owners were there when we stopped in and were really friendly. They mentioned it's been a little slow lately, which is a shame because they're clearly passionate about the place. I had the sangria, which was light and easy to drink. My partner went for the special beer on tap , he liked it, said it was crisp and cold, nothing fancy but hit the spot. We tried the pizza fries as an app... they were okay. Not bad, but not something I'd go out of my way to order again. All in all, it's a chill spot to grab a drink and support a local business. This place was the best place we ate at on the island. It's a little off the tourist track, but I would highly recommend going. Everything was so flavorful. I cannot find a place like this on Oahu! Anyways found Rebel Kitchen on Google Maps while vacationing at the Kona Outrigger! Street parking and glad there was no wait on a weekday at about noon. Wanted to try two different sandwiches so we halved the cheesesteak and the jerk chicken, one with fries the other with coleslaw. These two did not disappoint! It was an explosion of flavors and heat! But their ketchup, I loved - it has a hint of curry flavor in it...so good! Our choices were delicious! Service was awesome! 5 stars for service, 1 Star for food. We got the chicken wings, and it had some rawness inside, overly caked outside, and it was the slimmest wings I've ever had. Close to $20 gets you 4, not the entire wing, but just one section of it. The place was better a couple of years ago, but now the menu is not worth a visit anymore. To note: I think the waiter might of hinted that we should something else, but it was so subtle of a hint that it didn't compel us to change the order. I hope the place gets a revamp soon. read more

Found this place accidentally and we've been already been back twice during our stay! The pulled pork, the jerk chicken and the cheesesteak sandwich are all amazing! The wonton starters were outstanding -- honestly, I could have made a meal out of those alone, but there's too much good stuff on the menu to stop there. Their spicy ketchup and mustard are next level -- so flavorful and clearly made with fresh ingredients. I ordered an extra side of fries just to keep dipping. I've eaten here a few Times. I always get the same thing shrimp burger with pepperoni fries. This last time I went the shrimp was extremely salty. I'm and I have a high salt liking and it was too salty for me. I couldn't even take more than 3 bites. I tried to take the bacon out to make it less salty but I still couldn't eat it. Wowza! What a delicious meal. This very small eatery in Captain Cook is basically a roadside shack. A very nice shack, but no windows because you are looking through wood slats at wood tables. The service is friendly, but they cannot fill the tables because they are short staffed. The food is incredible. The Rebel Palmer (lilikoi lemonade and Tea) is refreshing and delicious. The Thai Steak Salad is the perfect mix of chopped veggies and tender local beef with a SPICY peanut dressing. Fam bam loved the cheesesteak sandwiches and the cuban rolls. The lunch was so good that we ordered one of each of the cookies. The peanut butter smore was the best followed closely by the lilikoi cookies and then the Hawaiian ginger. Personally, I would skip the chocolate chip-coconut next time. It was $90 plus tip for lunch for four without alcohol. Pricey but tasty. read more

I had the Da Aina veggie burger with a house made veggie patty, avocado sauce, plus $1 for the pepperoni garlic fries (super garlicky but delicious!); and my husband had Shrimp & Bacon sandwich with regular fries. Both sandwiches were delicious; probably the best veggie patty I've ever had! Ono burger: pretty simple overall but the fish was so flavorful and I really enjoyed the sauce they put on it! Very good!
