Wagyu burger
Kelsie R.

Loved everything we ordered at Village Burger - definitely one of the best burgers I've had. 10/10 meal! We ordered online and the food was ready by the time we got there - easy pick up. Tried: double burger, Wagyu burger and truffle fries with surf dip Loved: every thing. The surf dip was unique, the truffle fries were perfectly crisp and tasty, the Wagyu burger had a perfect char and fantastic flavor.

Fresh, hearty, flavorful. What can beat a locally raised beef patty and Truffle Fries?!

Fresh, hearty, flavorful. What can beat a locally raised beef patty and Truffle Fries?! One of our fav burger spots in Waimea. Located inside the food court at Parker ranch shopping center. There are a few tables in the restaurant but also a bigger area to sit in the food court. Lighting isn't too bright inside the food court area.

This place was recommended by a friend and we give it a 4.5/5! We ordered the Hawaiian island beef burger! My husband added a fried egg and I added mushrooms! We got a plain burgers for our girls to share and they even cut it in half for us. It's the little things! We also got regular fries and parm fries! 10/10!!!! The fresh garlic in the parm fries made it extra delicious! The staff is kind and were apologetic when they were sold out of the lamb burgers. Next time we will just have to go earlier!! There's picnic tables out front, a few high chairs inside or you can sit in the food court area - tons of tables!

Ordered five hamburgers and sides on the mobile app today. We ordered medium to medium rare on the burgers and all of them came out rare to raw. Our tentative pick up time was 1232, we were standing in their pick up line for 20 minutes beyond that until finally somebody asked what we were waiting for. We never heard them call our name or a number. The french fries are called. The burgers were cold. It almost looked like they just threw the hamburgers in the bag. I believe in supporting local small businesses, but this is $100 waste of money. I will not be coming back anytime soon. I would recommend everybody go to Waimea Butcher, big Island brewhouse or McDonald's in lieu of this place.

Big island beef burger on the left ($18), mushroom burger on the right ($14.50) with fresh fries in the middle ($5).

I knew I was going to order an island beef burger but also got the mushroom burger out of curiosity. Both were really great. Local beef and veggies made these artisanal burgers stand out. The mushroom patty is kinda fragile but really tasty. Wanted to order a loco moco but ran out at 11:23am. Couldn't wait 1 hr for rice to be ready so just got the keiki a keiki patty and fries. We all enjoyed our meal and ate it in the food court.

On the last day of our vacation we went to eat at the Parker Ranch Center. I chose a burger at Village Burger. The burger was good, filling and well done, but definitely not memorable. It wasn't long before I couldn't remember what was in my burger except the bun and the meat. But I was definitely full and would probably do it again if I needed a bite to eat if I was nearby. I can't say anything about the atmosphere in the cafe because our family ordered different food and we sat at tables outside of Village Burger. The burger was prepared quickly and the staff was nice.

Awesome burger and awesome fries- visiting from CA! Missing In N Out and this is so much better!

This is such a gem of a spot. Fresh and local ingredients really elevate the food. While the burgers are delicious they are a little heavy (depending on what you put on them; I love to do bacon, farm fresh egg and jalapeños!) so I've recently been getting their fish burger which is equally delicious! The star for me are the milkshakes and fries! You can tell they use real potatoes and you can get truffle salt seasoning on them! It's located in a shopping center so there's also some cute shops to check out while you're there. And while there's no indoor seating at the restaurant it's connected to a food court that has ample indoor seating with a few outdoor options as well. Service is wonderful! Be aware that they make everything fresh/to order so it can take a little bit to get your food if it's busy but that's just because everything is fresh and piping hot!

First time in the Big Island in a long time and we love to hit the local farmers markets where possible. Since we parked on the lot of the Parker Ranch shopping center and used the bathroom in there, it was time for lunch. Seeing the ahi burger on the menu here, I decided to give it a try. My mistake perhaps is not reading the menu because I expected a solid piece of tuna versus chopped. Especially when the cashier recommended that it be cooked medium. No fries included. Taste wise, the first thing I get is the sweetness from the pickled cucumber and spread. I didn't expect the burger to be fried either. The brioche bun maybe was old because it was crumbly on the edges and in the middle. Id like to try a regular burger next time as yelpers have good reviews, and the truffle fries. We sat outside at one of three tables on a nice day. I love people watching. Don't go inside to Domino's or get Burger King or McDonald's across the way. Give this place a try. Support the locals.

They opened with beef tartare that ruined me for every other beef tartare I've ever had. The osso buco is legendary. Then came the double cheeseburger... and I need everyone to understand that I don't hand out compliments like ketchup packets. This is, without question, the best burger I've ever eaten. It's so good it makes you want a cigarette afterward--and I don't even smoke. I've come back many times just for that burger because nothing else I've tried on Hawaiʻi Island or Oʻahu comes close. Their tater tots have developed their own fan club, and the little bar with beer, wine, and cocktails makes it dangerously easy to linger. The staff is consistently warm and welcoming. After being away for six weeks because of a family emergency, one of my first stops after returning was this burger. It was still outstanding, but I did notice the beef patty seemed about a third to nearly half thinner than I remembered. At around $20, that's noticeable. I'm hoping it was just an off day because this place has earned enough goodwill for me to give it another shot. Don't overlook the butcher shop itself. The meat quality is miles beyond what you'll find in a grocery store. I bought their ground beef for a ragù alla Bolognese, and it was so spectacular that I went back specifically to buy more for homemade burgers. Bottom line: this is one of the hidden gems of the island. Come for the butcher shop, stay for the burger, and if you leave without wondering whether you should light an imaginary post-burger cigarette, we clearly ordered different meals.

Waimea Butcher Shop is a good place to try them, (it is also a restaurant)! You will be served with warm & friendly service. I found out that I enjoy the taste of fresh grass fed beef, while my family did not. They did not think the meat was fatty or tender enough. This is because grass fed cows are much leaner and don't have their feed come to them. Anyway, I enjoyed my dining experience here and if you're curious, you should definitely come and give it a try! If you're inclined and know how to cook a mean steak, and staying somewhere with a kitchen, grab your supplies here.

The exterior, and interior, of the building is nothing special. As a matter of fact, that's part of what I loved about it; it helps you realize it's an all around fantastic food joint, not just somewhere that charges overpriced amounts for average food because of the "vibe." It's extremely busy inside this place, and staff was extremely friendly and pretty quick with turning out orders. I ordered a two entree plate, which consisted of their teriyaki chicken and pina colada shrimp, per the recommendation of the woman taking my order. The shrimp was incredible and the pins colada sauce that it comes with it's something I now dream about! The chicken was also great. It's dark meat, which is something to keep in mind in case you're a pickier eater, but the char and flavor of it was wonderful. For the sides I ordered rice and their mac salad. I'm not usually a mac salad kind of guy, but this changed my mind and I can now say I'm a true fan. This is perhaps one of the best places I've eaten between the two islands I visited on this trip, and I can't say enough good things about it!

The burger is only available as a combo for about $25, the fish tacos were $36, fries are $7 (and unfortunately not very memorable), and the restaurant adds a 7.5% service fee before prompting for an additional gratuity. By the time everything is totaled up, what looks like a casual lunch turns into a very expensive meal. If you're looking for a splurge, the food is fine. If you're expecting a laid-back burger-and-taco spot with reasonable prices, you may experience some sticker shock. I'd happily come back for the food if the value proposition were better, but next time I'd probably look elsewhere for lunch.

As someone originally from the Midwest, it's hard to turn down a good burger, so we had to try it. When I tell you this was arguably the best smash burger I've had in my life's I'm not lying. The burgers also come with a side of salt and pepper fries by default, but I ordered some onions rings as well. The onion rings were cooked perfectly, with the onions being sweet, and the batter being a nice consistency and not too thick. The fries were also great, and I loved the thicker, more coarse pepper they use to season them. The place appears to do a great amount of business, but only judging by their reviews, but by the fact that it was very busy during dinner time. The atmosphere inside is very enjoyable, with a small bar up near the front counter, sports on some TVs in side, and live music (island themed) was also being played inside.
