    Double with fries

Awesome little burger place. Always packed & after having the burger & fries we see why. Staff was great, bubbly & friendly. Food was fresh & tasted fresh ingredients. Good luck trying to get a seat. Not many spots but tables turn quick.

The OG PTs! Always hot and fresh and I really do think they have the best fries of all locations. They are conveniently near UNCW with plenty of parking. Walk in and order with the note pad for a fast casual experience. They are always super nice and it's a no frills good food type of place. Every time I'm in town I eat here and even sometimes more than once!

This was a unique experience! Orders are made by customers on old-fashioned "tickets" that you fill out yourself and hand to the employees. In exchange you get a drink and find a seat while they prepare your meal. While there aren't many options, everyone in our group was more than satisfied with the quality and quantity of food.

Nothing average about this grille, where everything is fresh and a bit extraordinary. If you like a good hot dog, stop by for the PT Dog which is more of a sandwich, and quite delicious. The fries are plentiful , seasoned well and are just to die for. Do have their Fresh lemonade! And that old fashioned service that you remember from years ago? That's the "old-fashioned" in the name. You'll be greeted with a smile, checked on throughout your meal and leave feeling appreciated. Shout out to Kris for excellent service and to Remi who overheard me asking about the dressing for a dairy tolerance issue, and came over to make sure I was aware there was cheese on the salad (I didn't). Good save. Don't think twice. This is where you want to meet up with your friends today.

I realized I hadn't updated my review from my most recent visit. Unfortunately I just got a thanks from the Mgr for the visit a year ago. Anyway, back to my visit recently... This is our go to place when we head back home from the beach. We had a simple order, one burger well done with catsup only, the other, a cheeseburger medium rare with everything. Pretty simple, right? Well the well done burger with catsup only came with cheese on it (didn't ask for cheese and it wasn't checked off on the slip). Not everyone likes cheese. The other, a cheeseburger with everything that was supposed to be medium rare was cooked medium, no pink at all, but I was willing to eat it anyway. So my spouse brings back her well done catsup only burger that they put cheese on. The guy apologizes and corrects the order quickly. When he brought her the burger I told him mine wasn't cooked to order. His response was "it depends who's on the grill." Are you kidding me? Either you teach all your cooks how to make the burgers you offer (well done, medium, medium rare, or rare) or don't offer them that way. I said "this place is really slipping." Another time we were there they got my order wrong. Not to mention that it looked like they hadn't cleaned the floors since we were there a year ago. Honestly, they were filthy. I'm always promoting this place when the foodie pages ask where to get a great burger, but between two visits of getting simple orders wrong and the filthy floor I'm done. We won't be returning.

The flavor was great the caramelized onions with the Oklahoma sauce was a great pairing. The burger itself was juicy and had a good flavor. One of the better burgers I've had honestly and you have a ton of toppings to choose from. My one bite score came out to a whopping 8.2/10 which is the 4th highest rated burger on my scale ever. The sweet potato wedges were amazing the cinnamon is the way to go! I was kind of disappointed with the sizing I ordered a large to split between the two of us and it wasn't enough. The 12 oz shake was amazing the only thing with that was it took forever. I was done with my food by the time the shake was done. It did look like they only have one shake machine so that could be why it took so long but the fact the I was done with my food before even seeing the shake was a bit crazy. The price of it all was a bit steep in the 40 some dollar range, but it was great. Also kinda in a random place but the vibes were great in there and the food was good I would say it is definitely worth the drive.

The fries, were a bit salty for my liking, but obviously that can be shook off and better than having none at all; they also offer mesquite bbq as a seasoning instead of just salt. Located at the end of a strip mall, with plenty of parking. Come down and check this place out for yourself. The staff were awsome, kind, and polite with energetic spirits, the restaraunt was clean, and most importantly....so was the bathroom.

We were next and got the last table for two. The place was completely full. After reading the menu, the daily special was 1/2 price burgers. They also gave first responders 20% off on Mondays. They have specials every night, so it is worth it to check that out before coming in. We started with a basket of hush puppies and corn muffins with yummy molasses butter. If you get in between 3:30 and 5pm, appetizers are 1/2 price Monday through Friday. I can see why this place is so busy! So I decided on a burger, who can pass up half price day? And we also got the knuckle sandwich, which was 20% off for first responders, so my hubs got that. Off to a good start. Also tried fresh squeezed lemonade, really delicious and fair priced. The burger and the sandwich were huge, we both had to take half to go. You get one side for $1.50, but added sides are $4 each. Still ok since the prices are good. There were charges for the added bacon and cheese on my burger but still at half price, it is a great deal. The restaurant is very rustic, pub atmosphere and very relaxed. The bar was completely full, so that must be the highlight of the restaurant. Looked lively and busy. Service is very good, the servers come back to check on you often. Chloe was very sweet and attentive. The only disappointment was dessert. We chose the cake of the day. It was chocolate Bundt cake with cinnamon frosting. To be completely honest, it tasted like boxed cake mix and canned frosting. It was very small, so I knew it was probably cake mix. There was nothing special about this; it was also pretty dry. Even if they purchased their desserts from a local bakery, it would have been better than what we got. I won't say avoid all their desserts, but I wanted to point out the cake specifically. So overall: The prices were excellent, food and service is really great, and the pub atmosphere was nice and comfortable. The plus was that on a busy night, we didn't wait for a table. They do not do reservations so prepare to wait, or just go earlier. I would definitely come back here, and enjoy some more of the large menu. 5 stars

We arrived at the restaurant at 5 pm, shortly after they opened to discover that they didn't even have an inside table that would seat seven. They had one table closest to the door that appeared to be a table for four but had six chairs tightly squeezed in. Our only alternative was to eat outside in 95 degree weather. One in our party even got sick while there due to the heat. The food was average but I wasn't happy that we were misled... When I asked the hostess, she stated, "We told you we'd TRY to accommodate you." If you have a party of more than four, look for another restaurant.

I ended up coming here twice in two days--once to try the NY Chopped Cheese and then again to try…read morethe Philly Cheesesteak. Let's start with the chopped cheese. As a New Yorker, I was excited to see it on the menu. And let me say this first... the sandwich was delicious. I cleaned that thing up and didn't leave a single crumb behind. The flavor was on point. Here's the only issue: it wasn't really a chopped cheese. Instead of using chopped ground beef like you'd find at a New York bodega, it was made with sliced steak. I asked the owner about it, and he explained that they used to make it the traditional way, but they switched because the ground beef would dry out by the time customers got it home or had it delivered. Using steak keeps it much juicier. I told him, "Then it's not really a chopped cheese anymore... it's basically a Philly cheesesteak." He laughed and said, "No, our Philly cheesesteak uses different meat." That caught my attention, so I said, "Hold up... you have an actual Philly cheesesteak too?" He said yes. So naturally, I came back the next day to try it. After trying both, I can honestly say I liked the "chopped cheese" much more. The Philly cheesesteak was made with Steak-umm-style beef, and unfortunately it was a little dry. It also could've used a lot more cheese (or cheese sauce) to bring everything together. I didn't complain because everyone has their own way of making things, and I respect that. But here's my opinion: if they simply renamed that "chopped cheese" sandwich to their Philly cheesesteak, it would be one of the best cheesesteaks around. In fact--and this is just my opinion--I think it would give J. Michael's Philly Deli some serious competition. At the end of the day, that's just one New Yorker's opinion. Go try it for yourself and let me know what you think!
