    Rigatoni

I ordered the rigatoni, and unfortunately, it missed the mark. The pasta wasn't cooked all the way through, it was much firmer than al dente and ended up being pretty chewy, which took away from the overall dish. The flavors of the sauce were good and had potential, but the undercooked pasta made it difficult to fully enjoy. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected the pasta to be cooked more consistently. I hope it was just an off night because the dish could have been much better with properly cooked pasta.

Highly recommend Rec Pier Chop House in Fells Point. Impeccable service, food was delicious, and we loved the Mimosa tower. Beautiful restaurant, very welcoming and relaxing.

    The Thames st special

I came here for brunch this weekend with my family, and we enjoyed our meals. We ordered the Thames St Special, the Malted Waffles, and the brunch burger. I didn't try the burger, but I enjoyed everything else. From the Thames special, I really enjoyed the breakfast potatoes and the chicken sausage. The potatoes were golden and crispy, and the chicken sausage was spiced and juicy. I also enjoyed the sweetness of the Belgian waffles. We came towards the end of the brunch service times, and the waitstaff were incredibly accommodating despite our late entry. They were soon closing to prepare the restaurant for the dinner service, but they allowed us to stay as long as we needed. While dining, we enjoyed a live saxophonist as well as some music from a playlist after the sax player finished his session. It made for a great ambiance.

I had heard a lot and have been anxiously waiting to try Rec Pier Chop House's Soulful Sunday Brunch since I initially saw advertising for it. I was unable to make reservations weeks out and was disheartened but I tried again a few days prior and I was able to make a reservation. I guess that makes me believe you can only make reservations a week or so prior to the day you'd like to attend. I love they offer valet parking which allowed us to park right in the front, jump out and then head into the restaurant without searching endlessly for parking. It's inside the Pendry Baltimore which is a boutique hotel situated right along the harbor. Upon arrival, I noticed this was a Pinky Up affair like I had anticipated and couldn't have been happier. They really go the extra mile to help or assist their guests. We were seated and looked over the menu and decided a poem what we wanted. I couldn't decide on a drink so I went over to the bar to chat with the bartender who helped me put together a drink to inform my server. It came out amazing. I am such a luxardo cherry girly, I don't know what else to say. I also love St Germain so seeing that hugo spritz on their cocktail menu make me extremely happy. I don't like champagne so the Prosecco threw me off but adding the cherry juice really made everything great. For some reason I thought I read that the frittata had crab meat in it. When it came out I searched and couldn't find any so ask the server about it and they quickly brought out a side of jumbo lump crab meat. As I'm looking at my pictures and the menu, I don't see it on there at all. I'm highly confused. However, the jumbo lump crab meat along with the basil and sundried tomatoes made the perfect bite. After brunch we walked around the hotel for a little bit and outside to the pool and looked at the view of the harbor. The hallways really give you a Titanic feeling and it was cool but also a little dark inside. The only negative or misleading attribute was this was supposed to be an Soulful Sunday brunch and it wasn't giving that at all.

I should've taken a photo when this amazing Porterhouse arrived at our table but the scent was so enticing it just had to be tasted immediately. It was so tender, juicy & flavorful we inhaled it. It was indeed the best steak I've ever eaten. For an appetizer we had their oysters & they tasted like they were taken out of the water seconds before they were served. This was my birthday dinner & I was beyond thrilled with the Rec Pier Chophouse House If you go ask for Joseph he was an amazing Server.

I had the absolute pleasure of going to the Rec Pier Chophouse located inside the the Pendry Hotel for my birthday, and I was absolutely blown away from the ambience to the service to the food , it was all top-tier. We started off with an appetizer which was the AC Famous Sheep's Milk Ricotta with toasted garlic, hot honey mustard grilled bread. The cheese was smooth and bursting with flavor combined with the grilled bread was a match made in heaven. They have a very extensive wine selection and our server was able to recommend a few for us. On to the dinner. I got the Linguini Fini, this was jumbo lump cake with a jalapeño garlic tomato sauce. This dish did not disappoint, it was full of crab meat and full of flavor. My daughter got the Roasted Branzino with Tuscan Beans, once again this did not disappoint. The flavor of the fish combined with the beans was amazing!!! We ended dinner with a chocolate birthday cake which was very moist and tasty. Our server was very attentive and constantly checked in on us. Our night ended with our server inviting us to the Cannon Room, which something like a speakeasy. She gave us the history of the room and invited us to sit and maybe have a glass of wine, which we did. I must say this was one of THE best birthday dinners I've ever had. Thanks Rec Pier for an awesome birthday!

Perfect impromptu Sunday brunch with my girlfriends! After my friend came to DC for brunch with me on Saturday, I decided to return the love by joining her in Baltimore on Sunday! Overall, the experience was great - we enjoyed our meal and the service but the mimosas weren't that great. We started with oysters and calamari and both were great! The oysters were fresh and the calamari was cooked well. We asked for marinara sauce with the calamari and it never came (apparently they make it fresh). Our server was kind enough to bring us fresh calamari once the marinara was ready. For entrees, two of us got the Linguini Fini (crab spaghetti dish) which we loved! I especially love that they have gluten free noodles. Now for the mimosas, they were super heavy on the juice and not much champagne which felt like we were cheated. The bonus of the day was the live jazz music. The saxophonist was incredible! All in all, I'd dine again but probably for dinner to get a different experience.

Food: The oysters were from WV, med brine, slightly sweet. The steak was flavorful and didn't need the sauce (which was creamy and not my favorite). The pasta was good, a little spicy though. The fries had the right amount of salt and truffle flavors. Service: The server was very attentive and nice. He made sure to inform us of what the oysters were when we asked. Ambiance: Definitely on the fancier side but looks tastefully old fashioned. Price: It was a bit overpriced (oysters were $4 each) especially for Baltimore standards but it is in a very up scale hotel.

Rec Pier Chop House gave main character birthday energy. The ambiance? Luxe but cozy. The food? Worth every bite and every stare I took between courses to mentally process my happiness. Would absolutely come back dressed even cuter next time.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Got the 3 course meal and everything was tasty. I recommend eating here is you are into ambiance because it is pretty and you will def feel fancy. It was not crowded and you can relax. The server was good at checking on us. And when we told her we needed to take our desert to go she was good at packaging the dessert nicely for us.

The service was great, but the food left much to be desired. I ordered the burger, and it was as if someone had accidentally dumped the salt shaker on it. I sent it back with no complaints, but it took a while to receive my replacement food. For brunch, I ordered an Officers' Club espresso martini, and it was perfect, not too sweet and not too bitter.

This was a solid breakfast before we left our hotel. I really liked the potatoes. It was seriously the best potatoes I had for breakfast. It was crispy on the outside and perfectly soft and buttery on the inside. I wish I could of had a plate full of them. The service was great. Our server was funny and accommodating. I accidently ordered the wrong thing for my husband (he was off watching the toddler) but they reordered what he wanted. It was so nice of them. I would go back!

Beautiful restaurant inside Pendry hotel, Baltimore. Mom was visiting town, so we decided to check out the restaurant on the first floor. It is very spacious, overlooks the streets of Fells Point. Servers are great, the place is clean. They have a pretty big menu - nothing super outstanding, but you won't really go wrong with anything either. Lunch was on the pricier side, but we were there for the vibe / space rather than trying to get the best meal in town, so left happy!

The first thing you see is the bar. I went to the left and sat down at one of the tables. After a couple minutes a lady gives me a menu. After about a couple minutes I decided to go with wings and a burger. Only problem was, my server was busy serving about 6 different people at the bar. Finally after about 10 minutes I was able to order. I get my food 20 minutes later. I don't understand why it took so long when everybody just had drinks and I was the only one seated in the restaurant part. The wings(6 for $15) were just ok. I got honey old bay flavor. The flavor itself was good but the wings were not cooked all the way for the middle part was lukewarm. The Charm Cheeseburger($20) a half pound beef patty, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, on a brioche bun. I wanted bacon added which was 2 dollars more per the menu. The burger itself was actually decent and it comes with potato wedges. They forgot to put the bacon in there but I didnt want to wait for the server to let her know and then wait again just for bacon. At least they didnt charge me for it. Service, or lack there of was atrocious. Every period in between interactions took a long time. In closing, I spent 35 bucks plus tax and tip for bad service and overpriced mediocre food. My co worker had drinks here one night and told me it was way overpriced. If you want good food and/or drinks then go next door to the Water Street Tavern. Their food and service is great there. I can only remember it because of how awful the food tasted and how terribly prepared it was-I have never had food this bad in my whole life. It was about 2 years ago that i went, but I can picture the........meal, I guess we can call it.... that was placed in front of my face like it was yesterday. A steak. Simple, right? Nope. Not simple, not well made, not well cooked, not even the right cut. I ordered the Delmonico- I suppose the cut could be argued, so I won't even count that in leading to my disappointment. What came to my table resembled more of a Hungry Man Dinner Salisbury Steak, and it had hunks of raw fat in it, and it was covered in this awful brown, salty, peppercorn sludge-excuse me while i go vomit. My husband ordered the lamb chops-bad move. They tasted like they sat in their own blood for days-gamey, raw in the middle (again), and tough like shoe leather. Raw, and tough....? Weird, but true. Now, my husband and I both like our steak/lamb cooked medium rare to rare, but this really was raw. I'm also a HUGE fan of carpaccio, and tartare-but this meat was really disgusting-completely inedible. Oh yeah- I believe we were told by the wait staff that the restaurant was for people with "an aquired palate". Um.......a palate for shit? That was actually pretty amusing, and at this point I realized I was not fighting about the food I had ordered with anyone. Our entire meals were sent back, our bill was paid, and then it was deducted off of my credit card. Xanadu, by definition, is a place of great beauty, luxury, and contentment. Yeah. Not so much.

Had reservations but upon getting there and peeking through the glass doors I realized it wasn't entirely necessary as there was only one other couple eating dinner. The chic Asian styling coupled with the diner booths down the middle of the restaurant area provides an interesting contrast to one another. There is just something off with having neon spirals lit up on the walls with porcelain Buddhas and other deities staring at you while you eat in a booth. The place filled up half the dining area by the time we left, and I can't blame them as the place provides an interesting environment to dine and judging by the lounge area, grab a drink.
