I recently visited CeCe's of Roland Park for brunch. The ambiance was excellent, especially on a clear, warm day, but the overall experience fell short. Although I attempted to reserve a table beforehand, I was unable to do so. Upon arrival, we were told brunch seating was capped and that we would need to sit at the bar. However, we noticed dozens of empty tables throughout the restaurant, many of which remained vacant during our entire visit. Brunch was served à la carte. I ordered waffles, eggs, sausage, and coffee. While the food quality was good, the portions were underwhelming for the price. My wife and I had similar meals, totaling approximately $87 before tip. The staff was pleasant and courteous, but service lacked attentiveness. After our food arrived, we were rarely checked on for refills or additional needs. Compared to nearby brunch spots such as Easy Like Sunday--which was full of guests, offered a broader menu, and had more reasonable pricing--CeCe's felt overpriced and operationally disconnected. CeCe's clearly has potential. The atmosphere and food quality are there, but the service, seating management, and overall value need improvement. With adjustments to its business model and customer experience, this restaurant could become a standout in the Baltimore brunch scene. read more

I had such a beautiful experience at Ce Ce's in Roland Park. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance and setting were absolutely gorgeous. I honestly forgot I was even in Maryland. I was enjoying time with my cousins who were visiting from out of town, and one of them made the reservations for us. I'm so glad she did because this place was truly a great choice. I ordered the omelet and a waffle, and both were amazing. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. What really stood out to me was the service. We had reservations at 1:45, and since they close at 2:00, I was a little nervous about the timing. But they welcomed us without any hesitation, and we later found out the kitchen stays open until 2:30. That level of hospitality made the experience even better. I wanted to love Cece's. I really did. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor patio, the interior design is gorgeous. It's in a great location for a casual stroll after dinner. The menu is expansive and has an options for everyone, but the food was just......ok. Nothing stood out to me. The presentation of everything is beautiful, but the flavors were just lacking. I also tried the Mezcal cocktail that had egg white on top and it was just a very odd odor and the flavor profile was far too bitter. I typically love mezcal but this drink was terrible. I will say that the service was pleasant. My server was very kind, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Of all the things we ordered, including a pizza, burrata salad, meatball appetizer, s'mores Panna cotta, pasta, and a side of broccoli.... I'd say the best thing was the broccoli. And it was mid. I can't even point to what the exact issue is. Lack of seasoning I guess. Ceces has the location, the look, the presentation, the menu; they have everything except good food. Cece's Roland Park is a beautiful restaurant. The host was very pleasant and sat me right away. My server may have been new as he was very nice but not the best. I noted when I made my reservation that I was there for a celebration but nothing special was done for the occasion. A family of 7 was sat next to me. They had two small children that were rambunctious. They kept getting up and their shoes were kicking my white pants. I eventually asked to move and the restaurant was kind enough to accommodate. The salmon tower was nice. I wish it came with more potato wedges. I also ordered the Diavolo Pizza with an egg. It came out without an egg and the mistake wasn't corrected. So that was a bummer. Came to Cece's in Roland Park for the second time, and it was the perfect spot to celebrate my birthday with the girls! The vibes were amazing, cute, lively, and just an all-around great atmosphere for a night out. The food was so good. We ordered the wagyu and the tuna tartare and both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and worth the hype. Parking was also super easy, and they even have valet parking which made everything even more convenient. Shoutout to Mia, our server. She was sweet, attentive, and made the night even better. The only thing I was a little confused about was a "facility fee" that was added to the check. Cece's is located in the up and coming cross keys shopping center. We have tried a lot of food options over there and it was finally time to try Cece's. The restaurant itself is nice. Everyone I came in contact with was very kind. Our server was amazing. If service is what drives you, I highly recommend you try this place out. The food is where it gets dicey. Let's start with the positives. The focaccia bread was amazing!!! As a fellow big backian, I vouch for it. They also have a salad with goat cheese that is spectacular. I had the pizza. It was tasty enough. Crust was perfect, not too thin or thick. The pizza itself left a little to be desired but nothing I ate was bad. I just wasn't blown away. I would go back. A beautiful restaurant with a lovely ambiance!! I went some girlfriends on a week night with a reservation around 6:15. Service was quick and friendly. We shared the little gem salad, the octopus and the truffle pizza. All three were a hit! For entrees we ordered the tortellini, the burger, the wagyu tartare and the mezze rigatoni with a side of chicken breast. The entrees were just mediocre. Came here for Valentine's Day, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is beautiful and cozy and service was very attentive. We started out with the Wagyu tartare. It was very flavorful. We enjoyed the short rib agnolotti and the ricotta tortellini. Both of these were incredible and melt-in-your-mouth good dishes. For dessert, we had the smoked vanilla Panna cotta... The food was disappointing. We had an arugula salad, potato-leek soup, meatballs, crab cakes, and a burger. Unfortunately, my burger was undercooked and not prepared as I requested. The potato-leek soup tasted like canned cream of potato soup, and the crab cake was bland. The arugula salad was the best dish I had, but it could have used a bit more vinaigrette. For drinks, we initially ordered a Pink Lady, which we sent back because it wasn't tasty. We then opted for an Aperol Spritz, which was slightly better. For dessert, we tried the blondie and the chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was dry, and the ganache was subpar, while the blondie was better but still just okay. On the plus side, the service was good! We arrived a bit before service began, and the staff kindly offered us a seat inside the restaurant due to the rain. When the other half of our party arrived later than expected, the server checked on us several times without making us feel rushed. We ordered a burger to go, cooked correctly this time, but when the server brought it over, he placed it on the floor beside our table on top of two other brown bags, which mortified my partner. The ambiance was lovely; however, I don't recommend being seated in the back near the kitchen, as it can get quite noisy. read more

I would've rated the overall dining experience a strong 4 out of 5... until we got the bill. To my surprise, we were charged for ice--YES, ICE. When I asked the server, I was told that single servings of ice at the bar come with a charge. It wasn't about the money--it's the principle. If that's the policy, it should have been clearly communicated so we could choose to opt in or out. It left me feeling like the rules may not be applied consistently, which was a real turn-off. I went to Cece's for my birthday dinner! The venue was beautiful, with gorgeous details throughout the restaurant. I ordered the Mezze Rigatoni, which was like a lasagna in a bowl. It was pretty good. I originally wanted the Rotolo (spinwheels); however, they mentioned that the menu changes often. We also ordered the oysters and the Pepperoni Bolognese pizza . The pizza had hot honey on it, which tasted amazing! It was my first time trying hot honey, and I usually don't like anything spicy--but it was so good! My only issue was when the waiter asked if we wanted our food boxed up. I said I would like a to-go box, but she repeatedly insisted that they don't bring boxes to the table. Eventually, the manager--who was very kind--brought us a box without hesitation. I appreciated the complimentary coat check at the front--especially since it was pouring rain when we arrived. A big restaurant with a huge courtyard that is feels private even though you're in the middle of a shopping center The food and plating is so lovely and I love the glassware used for mimosas. However, the service is very hit or miss, which is why it's a 4 star. The first time, I got conflicting information from servers about seating. The second time the hostess gave me a serious attitude when I asked for a table and ended up at the bar anyway. The third time, I had a reservation, and once we were seated, no server came to our table for nearly twenty minutes. I had to get up and find someone. The manager apologized by giving us a monkey bread appetizer, but that was already my third time with poor service. The star dish for me is the smoked salmon. Love the potato rosti with the various toppings. The omelet, soft scramble are good as well, I personally did not like the peppers, but they can be a nice addition. The steak sandwich is pretty messy but my friend loved it and thought it was very tasty and filling. Best piece of focaccia I've ever had in my life Tuna tartare was flavorless. Could have used a pepper, acid, something. Spicy pepperoni pizza slapped. It was priced well, and the crust was to freaking die for. Chicken Milanese was so thick it seemed unnatural and felt weird to eat. I love vodka sauce, so that had me hyped. I do feel like it got lost in the dish and realized red sauce is adds more to a cutlet. Also, insane to charge ~$30 for any chicken dish with no sides included. Passionfruit daiquiri was so good but grossly overpriced. No garnish, no rim, nothing to make me swoon and feel comforted for spending ~$20 for a cocktail. The ambiance was nice! Great service - our waitress was wonderful and gave AMAZING recommendations. I had a blueberry sour cocktail, which hit the spot. They order all the food at once so they can plan how it comes from the kitchen, which was really nice actually. The table bread had to be some of the best I've ever had. They bring a large piece of focaccia that is warm and drenched in garlic butter and fresh parm on top and it's so perfect - we actually asked for a second round with our burrata. Cece's of Roland Park has been on my bucket list for quite sometime and I am glad that I finally got a chance to go. This restaurant just has a nice swanky, sexy vibe. It is very dimly lit, very cozy and intimate. The decor was reallty old school modern-chic, reminded me of a home with a cute sunken living room. Perfect date night, birthday celebration, or just want a nice dinner out. Upon arrival we were seated immediately and our server Emma immediately greeted us. For drink starter's I went with the smoked old fashioned and my friend her opted for the espresso martini. Both cocktails were made to perfection. My drink was so good, I ordered a second one For food we started with the hearth roasted carrots( greek yogurt, harissa and pistachios) and the wagyu tartare( pistachios, truffle ailoi and mint). Both appetizers were delicious. The roasted carrots were amazing, and the wagyu tartare was fresh and clean on the palate. Delicious. For dinner we opted for the Amish Chicken. This dish is a whole chicken, and it is perfect for sharing. Two ppl can eat this meal, to be brutally honest, possibly three. The portion was huge. The chicken was very flavorful and moist. It was accompanied with white beans, kale, focaccia croutons and chicken jus. The server will pour the chicken jus over the chicken when it comes to your table. For dessert we did the dulce de leche cake and the smoked vanilla panna cotta. Both portions were huge, next time I will get just one dessert. The desserts were so decedent. Overall the dinner was phenomenal, there was not a dish that we did not like. We are planning to get a few friends together for a small brunch outing here after the holiday. There is other dishes I would like to try, such as the branziono and the pastas and pizza. The village of Cross Keys is bustling with really nice shops and restaurants, and CeCe's is a nice addition. I've been to Cece's a couple of times now with dinner for friends, and I've enjoyed it both times! Between my two visits, I've tried quite a few dishes from the menu: burrata (with persimmon, radicchio, banyuls vinaigrette); ahi tuna crudo (radish, mandarin, Calabrian chili vinagrette); little gem lettuces (with basil, avocado, and parmesan); wagyu tartare (pistachio, truffle aioli, and mint); roasted octopus (with garbanzo bean and green chermoula); ricotta cavatelli (trumpet mushroom, butternut squash, brown butter); mushroom risotto (with mixed mushrooms, manchego, and puffed wild rice); and more. Their menu is great and varied. I also love that they offer a chef's tasting menu (for $79 with an additional wine pairing for $40), which is a great way to try a lot of their menu if you're with a smaller group! Their beverage program is also great. I'm obsessed with their Cece's Martini (Stoli, blue cheese olives, and "filthy olive juice"), but their wine list is wonderful as well. The restaurant is gorgeous and has great ambiance. It's upscale but still comfortable. Some people definitely dress up for a meal at Cece's, but you can still dress comfortably. The restaurant has a fantastic outside space (heaters, couches, an outdoor bar, TVs playing sports), which I hope doesn't close for winter! It would be a great place to watch a football game while enjoying some great wine. The service is great, too. During both dinners, all of the staff were friendly and helpful and added to a great experience. So good food, good drinks, good service, good vibes! Swanky restaurant. Went on a Thursday evening in June and it was packed. Both the outside open area bar and tables as well as every table on the inside. Nice location, plenty parking cool ambience and vibes. The menu is pretentious, my original order was a chicken entrée, but it was literally going to be just a plate of meat. No sides included. I ultimately decided to order a cheese pizza, it was the safest thing. Other folks in my party opted to come early for happy hour so they could have a burger and mozzarella sticks versus ordering from the dinner menu. Everyone enjoyed their drinks. My partner ordered a smoked old fashion, and I ordered an espresso martini. You could smell the old fashion a mile away. That's her thing; she loves them, and this one topped her list. My martini was as good as an espresso martini can be. Yummy! Our server was attentive and gave recommendations when asked. The ambiance was chill, romantic, and the decor was old-school modern chic. We both ordered roasted octopus (we love octopus). For the main dish, I had mushroom risotto, and she had mezze rigatoni. The roasted octopus was a first for me. It was served differently than it is normally served, but I did enjoy it. It was served with garbanzo beans, tomatoes, and a very fresh green chermoula. It tasted very fresh (a bit citrusy; I couldn't put my finger on the flavor). OMG, the mushroom risotto was divine! I ate the entire dish. It was layered in flavor with some puffed wild rice. Mushrooms are yet another love of mine. The combination of mushrooms and manchego..... yum! It was so satisfying. My partner loved her dish as well. It looked very rich. Very nice dinner at Cece's. We had cocktails which were good and I particularly liked the fig and rye. The little gem salad was excellent and a big portion. They give you garlic bread which is delicious. The pastas were also quite good including the bucatini, agnoloti and a huge portion of rolled up lasagna called rotolo. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was the price which is quite steep. The pastas were $35-40 each. NYC prices in Bmore. A restaurant that charges $18 for an Aperol spritz (which was delicious!) should stock Splenda, not just Sweet 'N Low. That said, the ambiance is lovely, and the outdoor seating is terrific--assuming you can get it. I dropped in at 1:30, and although there was plenty of open seating, they were not accepting walk-ins for anywhere but the bar. Assume that was a significant staffing issue. Expect to pay $14 for monkey bread the size of a large cinnamon bun--tasty, but pricey. The smoked salmon was beautifully presented and delicious (I would have done it more justice had it come with additional toast squares). I hope they can solve their staffing issues, and next time I will make a reservation. read more

My husband and I split several things including the burrata, roasted beets, octopus, and short rib agnolotti. The beets were the "worst" thing and they were still very good, just everything else was amazing! The burrata was incredible - it had all kinds of toppings, I just wish it was served with some kind of bread or cracker to spread it on. The octopus was also delicious but it was one tentacle and I felt like there should've been two for $19. The star of the show was the short rib agnolotti, WOW get this! Incredible, super savory. A bit of a small portion, I could've eaten the whole thing alone but super tasty. It was our friends birthday and they brought him the smallest piece of cake I've ever seen... it's nice to give anything for a bday but this restaurant is so expensive and "fancy" - this felt cheap. One other note - the art in this restaurant is TERRIBLE... normally not something I'd even notice but it's actively really ugly. Not sure who "styled" this but wow, there are some ugly pieces. In our area, it was red splatter paint... looked like blood and guts, not what you want to look at while eating. Lastly there is a 3% facility fee added to all checks. The menu notes it is NOT a tip or service charge. You mean I'm paying for the ugly art!? I hope not! Overall, the food was incredible but some of the portions were a bit stingy and would be the reason I wouldn't rush back.
