The rest of the facility that we experienced was well maintained and pretty "cool". There was a really large grassy area accompanied by a covered Pavilion when you first walk in. We did not go into the Cottages that were for rent in the resort, but they looked cute from the outside. The restaurant decor was nice and the service was excellent. The food was good but not off the chain. The food was kind of "fusion" inspired and not your regular run-of-the-mill menu items, although there were a few of those, also. Most of the main entrees were a little bit pricey, in my opinion. We were there for lunch and so they did offer some lunch items but we opted for a main entree. The lunch options were more reasonably priced and consisted mostly of hamburgers, sandwiches, and salads. I opted for the Birria Beef Stroganoff (Yep, there's that "Fusion" thing). While it had good flavor, there was no "Stroganoff" component to it (that I could tell), other than a small dollop of sour cream that I discovered towards the end of my dish. It was more like Pasta Alfredo with Birria Beef on top. My wife had the BLT salad with the addition of grilled chicken. The dish was sort of anemic and lacked any creativity. In summary, I would go back, but would try some different menu items. Since we were there for lunch on a Friday there wasn't any other sort of entertainment other than the wine tasting room. The tasting room has been open for about four months, but owner and winemaker, Gary Hahne, has been making wine for a lifetime. Gary is a Texas Hill Country Native and his family roots date back to his great grandparents who immigrated to the Stonewall area from Germany. His parents were close friends to LBJ and Lady Bird. The Hahne surname in German translates to the English word rooster, which ties to the colorful rooster found on the winery's logo. There is no tasting fee to sample the four dry wines, and one sweet Sangria style wine on the tasting menu. Each bottle of wine tells a different story of the Hahne family and the surrounding hill country. As you sip and savor the flavor of the well balanced, delicious, palatable wines. You can walk around the winery and enjoy the historic pictures of the Hahne family, and hear about the family and area history. I had the great pleasure of being able to talk with Gary himself about his amazing family heritage. I enjoyed all of the five wines. My favorite was a bold; well balanced, red blend (Tempranillo, Cab Sauv, and Nero D'Avola) entitled Texas Tapestry. I also loved the Texas styled Chianti appropriately named Texanti. This was a softer red, fruit forward, but well balanced with lingering notes. I also very much enjoyed the dry rose that is named after Gary's grandfather, Opa. The Viognier blend was also surprisingly good, with interesting peach like notes. My visit here was delightful, and I hope to return soon. Gary is passionate about making quality wine to enjoy with us, and to pass down his story to be remembered for years to come.

He seemed to spend more time walking around than actually attending our table. This was our family's last dinner together and it was sad to see such a gorgeous place make us feel like we didn't matter. Based on this experience, I won't be recommending this restaurant or returning. I can't say anything about the resort or wine itself, but if we were treated this way at the restaurant I wouldn't like to see how they treat actual guests if you don't meet their expectations.
